Celebrating Mother's Day at Tulipmania @ Gardens by the Bay

Hi Huneybees,

By the time this article is out, the event -Tulipmania 2023 might be over already. I'm sharing this post for keepsakes and also a reminder to all to spend more time with your loved ones.

It's been a while since I took a nature walk and the other day, we dated my mum who's a huge fan of flowers to go to Gardens by the Bay to check out the beautiful tulips from Turkey. As we strolled, we chatted about the times when we travelled together to New Zealand and Australia when I was still a kid.

Bringing back those memories and comparing my mum now,  caught onto my heartstrings a little. As we grew up, everyone had their own agendas and the family seems to be spending less time with each other. Back then, we could climb ice glaciers, walk through forests, but now both my parents had leg issues, walking at such slow pace, got me thinking time is short, how much more time do we have with each other?

That's why I love going everywhere taking photos, not for social media postings but to keep these memories forever locked in this "time capsule" so that everyone in the family can view too!

Have you been to the Gardens by the Bay before? Seeing all the beautiful brightly coloured florals and soaking in the sun simply makes one so much more refreshed and comfortable. It's nice to take a break sometimes, away from all the phone scrolling, and spend quality time with friends and family. You guys should give it a try too!

Ok! gona spam a few more pics before I'm off to bed ~~~

It's Time To Get Ready For A Festive Fest This Christmas!

Hi Huneybees,

The festive mood is in the air as we officially step into the month of December in anticipation to the joyous occasion of Christmas, which is just DAYS away!

With Orchard Road and most shopping malls already dressed up for the Yuletide season hence it is about time that we should start preparing for it, if you have not yet done so, like me. Ellenborough Market Café @ Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore has already set the festive mood going by having a Festive Feast since 3rd of December until 31st December 2018.

I really enjoyed the moist and tendinous taste of the Turkey meat prepared by Ellenborough Market Café @ Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore

The main attraction on the menu of the Festive Feast is certainly the Asian-inspired Turkey with Cranberry and "Kam Heong" Sauce.
Having tried it during the media preview a few days back, I must say I really enjoyed the moist and tendinous taste of the turkey meat so much that I actually requested for repeated serving of this awesome dish! It's a simply awesome dish that I can imagine having it any day!!
While Cranberry source is pretty common as a dressing for the de facto dish for Christmas, the introduction of Kam Heong sauce - literally means "golden fragrance" in English and is a product of the old strait statement Chinese-Malay creation - added an interestingly strong but familiar taste to the already yummy slice of meat that worth every chewing in my mouth.

The Honey Glazed Smoked Gammon Ham weights around 6kg and is enough for up to 30 serving!

Also worth mentioning is the Honey Glazed Smoked Gammon Ham (Semi Bone-In), which in my opinion was well rolled and smoked to perfection. The look of it (as a whole), while editing this blogpost, has again tackled those taste bugs of mine!

Louis Tay, Executive Chef at Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore sharing his creation during a recent media preview of Festive Fest at Ellenborough Market cafe

Do try out these two amazing dishes amongst what the Festive Feast has to offer at Ellenborough Market Café@ Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore, which is available everyday until 31st December 2018 and priced at SGD58 (Adult), SGD29 (Child) from noon to 2:30pm and SGD78 (Adult), SGD39 (Child) from 6:30pm to 10pm.

Alternatively, Huneybees could also bring both home at the takeaway counter at Ellenborough Market Café@ Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore and enjoy some early bird promotion of 25% discount before 14th December 2018 and thereafter 18% discount before 21st December!
To avoid disappointment, I would suggest Huneybees to call 6239 1847/1848 or email dining.merchantcourt@swissotel.com to enquiry before placing your order.

Have a GREAT start to a new Pre-Christmas Shopping weekend!

Enjoy Christmas With The All New Tiger Radler Mandarin Orange

Hi Huneybees,

The weekends are always my favourite time, coz I have hubby to myself for 2 whole days before he disappear for work again. Saturdays and Sundays are our couple time as well as friends time, so drinks are definitely something we won't be missing.

Thanks to Tiger Beer for the timely package, we were treated to the all new Tiger Radler Mandarin Orange beer!

I'm always a fan of fruit beers and the Tiger Radler with the touch of lemon zest has been on my top list, but oops, guess I might have to stash that aside for I'm picking a new favourite for this festive season!

I know a lot of friends have been telling me that it feels more for Chinese New Year, given the gold orange touch to the packaging, but this orangey, fruity burst goes well with red meat; like the turkey we are gona be feasting on this December too!

You can enjoy the drinks as it is, but I'm a sucker for chilled beers. Go chill it in the fridge or pour it into a chilled mug to share it with your friends and families!

Cheers to a very Merry Christmas and an amazing 2016!!!

The new Tiger Radler Mandarin Orange is only here for a limited period, so you better be stocking them up ~~~

The Tiger Radler Mandarin Orange (6 x 323ml pack, RSP: $17.80) is available now at all major supermarkets and hypermarkets, while stocks last.

Have An Egg-alicious Brunch At MEDZS

Hi Huneybees,

Yay! It's the weekend and it's time to treat ourselves to great food with our friends and families. The Brunch trend has been catching on in the recent years and my very own favourite would have to be the Eggs Benedict. Something about cutting the eggs up and letting the yolk flow, is so invigorating!

So, I'm always on the lookout for new Brunch hunts, looking for nice places to chill out with my hubby after "partying" out our Fridays and Saturdays. Hungry? Here's MEDZS with their new weekend brunch menu...

I have introduced MEDZS to you guys before, it is home to an eclectic range of Mediterranean cuisine from Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Greece, Italy and France. Their brunch menu is of course a wide selection of popular dishes from these countries and all I can wish for is to have 4 stomachs!

Stacked Brunch Torte

This Italian dish is a delight to have, every layer is a different flavour of Eggs, Ham, Mushroom, Spinach and Bell Pepper. Paired with a light salad, this will definitely prepare you for the rush hour week ahead.

Tasty Tortilla

If you are looking for something more hearty to last you through the noon, you can consider the Spanish Tortilla. With the Stewed Beans with Chorizo and Brioche Toast, the flavouful dish will ehisk you awayto Spain for the weekend.

Bouncy Benedict

Here comes my favourite. Not only is there Eggs Benedict, there's even Rosti Potato to go with them. You know how they always say eat your Eggs Benedict whilst its still piping hot? Well, after having mine laying there for a while, the egg yolk is still runny! Together with the Smoked Salmon and English Muffin, this is definitely the dish I want to wake up to every morning!

Le Jolly Monsieur

Served in a big portion of Ham, Bacon, Cheese and Béchamel Sauce, this French quick snack that is a must-have in all Parisian café. Although I do like this version of the Croque Monsieur, I would suggest to have it whilst it's hot, as the sandwich feels a little soggy after awhile.

Poseidon's Wrap

Fans of seafood must have this! It's a lighter dish compared to the rest, with loads of vegetables wrapped with prawn, fish, squid, it would be as though you were swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. Do try the Tzatziki sauce as well! The Greek Salad is also very appetizing with its tangy dressing, tomatoes, olives and cheese.

Spicy Chicken Tagine

I wouldn't call it spicy though, I find this dish kinda sweet in fact. Though this tasty Moroccan Chicken dish might be a little heavy for my liking, but I'm sold by the sauce and I can't help dipping the Potato Pancake in it!

Egg-Crowned Shakshouka

This is the first time that I had tried this dish and I must admit that I felt in love with the dish the moment I put in my mouth. The lamb kefta is very chewy while the egg yolk (when mixed with the sauce) is very addictive when eating with bread.

A Berry Pancake Gala

I would consider this a dessert and share it with my partner after our bunch meal. Other than the Berries topping, you could have a choice of maple syrup, Mango, Vanilla or Strawberry sauce to go with the pancakes.

The dishes are priced affordably so that you do not have to worry about burning a hole in your pocket even if you decide to pamper yourself every weekend. The restaurants’ cosy and friendly settings also make them an ideal place for to enjoy tete-a-tete conversations. Visit Orchard Central for the underground buzz, and Millenia Walk to enjoy the spacious and alfresco setting.

Not only that, MEDZS is adding premium coffee to its weekend brunch menu to complement the hearty range of brunch. For the first month, first 200 brunch-goers at each MEDZS outlet will receive a free cup of coffee with every brunch item purchased.

The weekend brunch menu will be available starting from 22 February 2014.

For a refreshing twist, MEDZS has also created a second, equally delightful menu. The two menus will alternate on a weekly basis. Check out MEDZS’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MEDZS.SimplyMediterranean?fref=ts) for more details.
