Hi Huneybees,

If you love a good bargain, you might want to make your way down to Changi City Point this week because The Great Outlet Sale is happening from 1 to 4 October 2026, with discounts going up to a whopping 90% off!

This is Changi City Point’s biggest outlet shopping event yet, bringing together all 56 outlet brands for four days of promotions, shopping rewards and extra perks.

And with brands like adidas, Nike, ASICS, Coach, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, New Balance, Puma, The North Face, Tommy Hilfiger and Under Armour in the mix, this could be a pretty good time to hunt for sportswear, sneakers, bags and wardrobe staples at outlet prices.

More Than Just Outlet Discounts

Besides the store promotions, CapitaStar members can stack up some additional rewards during The Great Outlet Sale.

Spend S$300 across qualifying same-day receipts at participating outlet stores and you can redeem 30,000 STAR$. At least one receipt has to be S$100 or more, while subsequent receipts must be at least S$20 each. This reward is limited to the first 400 redemptions.

If your shopping spree reaches S$400, you can unlock an additional 20,000 STAR$, bringing your total reward to 50,000 STAR$. This tier is limited to the first 300 redemptions.

Unlock S$165 Worth of eVouchers

Here's another perk worth checking before you shop.

Enter the promo code TGOS2026 in the CapitaStar App to receive 12 eVouchers worth S$165 in total. The reward code can be entered from 30 September, 1pm, while the eVouchers are valid from 1 to 31 October 2026.

Some of the participating deals include:

Bata (S$10 off), Champion (S$20 off), FILA (S$20 off), Furla (S$10 off), Kappa (S$10 off),  Kate Spade New York (S$20 off), Nike Factory Store (S$10 off),  Spectacle Hut (S$10 off), The North Face (S$10 off),  Timberland (S$10 off), etc...

There is also a S$5 Food Kiosk eVoucher that can be used at participating F&B outlets including Hey Long Cha, No.1 Jingdong Roti and Maki-San.

So yes, you can technically reward yourself with food after all that bargain hunting. 😂

Dining and Bonus STAR$ Rewards

Shopping isn't the only way to earn rewards.

CapitaStar members can redeem 1,000 STAR$ Dining Delight when they spend at least S$20 using an eCapitaVoucher in a single receipt at participating F&B outlets. Redemption is limited to once per member per day.

There's also an ongoing 10X Bonus STAR$ promotion when shopping or dining at participating stores on weekends and public holidays, with a minimum qualifying spend of S$20 using an eligible payment mode. This promotion runs until 27 December 2026, subject to its respective terms and redemption limits

Extra Perk for Tourists

If you're visiting Singapore, there's something for you too.

From 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, tourists shopping at Changi City Point can enjoy an additional 30% tax refund with Global Blue × Mastercard, subject to the promotion's terms and conditions.

Considering Changi City Point is just minutes away from Changi Airport, this could also be a convenient last-minute shopping stop before flying home.

Is It Time for a Shopping Trip?

With up to 90% off across participating outlet stores, extra STAR$ rewards and S$165 worth of eVouchers up for grabs, The Great Outlet Sale might be worth checking out if you've already been planning to pick up new sneakers, activewear, bags or other wardrobe staples.

I'm definitely curious to see what bargains are hiding inside, especially with so many outlet brands participating at the same time.

The Great Outlet Sale

Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Launches in Singapore: Can AI Make Laundry Easier?

Hi Huneybees,

Bespoke AI Washer Dryer EcoBubble™ 21kg + 11kg (WD90F21BCSSP) is now available in Singapore

Laundry is probably never going to be anyone’s favourite household chore, but if AI can take care of some of the thinking for us, I’m listening.

Samsung has introduced its latest Bespoke AI Laundry Combo in Singapore, bringing more of its AI-powered features into something most of us use every week: the washing machine.

Rather than simply adding more wash programmes, the new models use sensors, AI and Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem to help decide how clothes should be washed, how much detergent is needed and even how energy consumption can be better managed.

And for busy households, that could mean spending a little less time figuring out which setting to use every time the laundry basket fills up.

AI That Pays Attention to What You’re Washing

One of the main upgrades is AI Wash+, which can detect the weight of a load as well as five different fabric types.

The system now recognises Outdoor and Denim fabrics, expanding the range of materials it can identify. Using multiple sensors, it determines the load and fabric type before automatically dispensing an appropriate amount of water and detergent.

It also monitors soil levels during the wash. If your clothes need a little more attention, the machine can adjust the amount of detergent and washing time accordingly. Essentially, instead of expecting us to make all those little laundry decisions ourselves, the machine does more of the adjusting in the background.

There’s also Flex Auto Dispense, which can be configured to hold two different detergents or used for additional detergent capacity. According to Samsung, it can store enough detergent and fabric softener for up to 12 loads, or enough detergent alone for up to 30 loads.

That could be particularly handy if you’re the type who keeps forgetting to top up the detergent until you’ve already started loading the machine.

A 7-Inch Screen Puts Everything in One Place

Another noticeable addition is the 7-inch AI Home Smart Screen. Instead of navigating traditional buttons and dials, the LCD touchscreen acts as the main control centre for the washer-dryer. It gives you access to cycles and settings while learning from your usage habits to suggest frequently used programmes.

Once a wash is completed, you can also check laundry reports through the SmartThings app, including information on water and energy consumption.

Samsung has also integrated its upgraded Bixby voice assistant, so certain laundry functions can be controlled without touching the machine. You can ask Bixby to start a preferred cycle, add an extra rinse, check how much time is left or even explain information appearing on the screen.

Voice control on a washing machine might initially sound like one of those “do I really need this?” features, but I can see the convenience when your hands are already full of clothes, detergent and that one missing sock.

Keeping an Eye on Energy Usage

Beyond fabric care, Samsung is also putting more emphasis on energy management through SmartThings Energy. The app lets users monitor daily, weekly and monthly energy consumption and provides estimated electricity costs, which makes it easier to see how much energy your laundry habits are actually using.

With compatible cycles, AI Energy Mode can reduce energy consumption by up to 60%, according to Samsung. It does this using AI Ecobubble™ technology, which allows clothes to be washed at lower temperatures while adjusting the cycle duration when necessary.

With electricity costs being something many households are increasingly conscious about, being able to actually see your appliance's energy consumption could be one of the more practical smart-home features here.

The Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo 11kg + 7kg (WD90H11C4WSP) comes in white, a first for Bespoke AI Laundry Combo range that carries an AI Home Smart Screen.

Two Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Models for Singapore

Samsung is bringing two models to Singapore.

The larger Bespoke AI Washer Dryer EcoBubble™ 21kg + 11kg (WD90F21BCSSP) is available now at selected retailers at a recommended retail price of S$3,299.

For households that don’t need quite that much capacity, the Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo 11kg + 7kg (WD90H11C4WSP) offers a more compact alternative. It is also the first white Bespoke AI Laundry Combo equipped with AI Home and is expected to launch in early October, with an RRP of S$2,149.

Is AI Laundry Actually Useful?

Smart appliances can sometimes feel like they’re adding technology simply because they can. But with laundry, there are a few areas where AI assistance actually makes sense.

Automatically adjusting detergent, water and washing time based on what’s inside the drum could help remove some of the guesswork, while SmartThings gives homeowners a clearer picture of how much energy their laundry routine is consuming.

Of course, you’ll still have to sort the clothes, load the machine and fold everything afterwards. AI hasn't rescued us from that part yet. But if the machine can take care of a few more decisions along the way, I certainly wouldn’t complain.

PLAY-DOH Says Yes, You Can Play With Your Food!

Hi Huneybees,

Before squishies, slime and all the oddly satisfying sensory toys we have today, there was PLAY-DOH.

I remember loving PLAY-DOH when I was younger because there really wasn't a "right" way to play with it. Give me a few tubs of different colours and suddenly I could make almost anything my imagination came up with. Food, animals, random little characters… whether they actually looked like what I intended was another story. 😂 But that was part of the fun!

And now PLAY-DOH is giving the next generation an excuse to break one of those childhood rules we've probably all heard before:

"Don't play with your food!"

Well, mama can't stop you this time because PLAY-DOH is actually telling us to do exactly that!

PLAY With Your Food? PLAY-DOH Says Yes!

PLAY-DOH's latest "Play With Your Food" campaign takes that familiar warning and turns it into an invitation for children to get creative.

Want a rainbow-coloured burger? Chocolate toppings on your pizza? Waffles piled ridiculously high with everything you can possibly imagine? Why not?!

That's the beauty of PLAY-DOH. There are no recipes to follow and no dishes that can go wrong because everything is powered by imagination. Beyond simply keeping little hands occupied, creative play can also become an opportunity for families to spend time together. Parents can join in, create their own dishes and maybe even start a friendly competition over who makes the craziest-looking meal.

The new food-themed collection is designed for children aged three and above and features three playsets inspired by familiar family favourites. Each one lets little chefs shape, decorate, serve and invent their own dishes while encouraging storytelling and role-play along the way.

And I have to admit… these are the kinds of toys that would probably tempt the adults to join in too!

PLAY-DOH Stamp & Spin Pizza Playset – SGD $24.90

Create, Top and Serve Your Own Pizza Creations

Pineapple on pizza might start arguments, but when it's made from PLAY-DOH, anything goes!

The PLAY-DOH Stamp & Spin Pizza Playset turns playtime into a mini pizzeria where young chefs can stamp out a spinning pizza crust before decorating it with more than 25 possible toppings.

With colourful PLAY-DOH compounds and different moulds, children can create everything from somewhat realistic pizzas to completely ridiculous combinations that would probably make an Italian chef cry.

The set comes with eight themed accessories, including a cheese grater, pizza paddle, pizza slicer, roller, pizza box, plates and a playmat. There are also five colourful cans of PLAY-DOH compound included, so little chefs can prep, slice, serve and even pretend to deliver their creations.

PLAY-DOH Wok & Wonton Playset – SGD $19.90

Cook Up Colourful Asian-Inspired Creations

This might be the set that feels closest to home. The PLAY-DOH Wok & Wonton Playset brings an Asian-inspired kitchen into playtime, letting children make their own colourful noodles, dumplings, stir-fries and whatever other dishes they can dream up.

The set comes with a wok, noodle maker, dumpling mould, cutting board and even chopsticks, so children can chop, shape, mix and serve their pretend meals.

What I like about this one is how familiar everything feels. Kids can recreate dishes they've seen at home or at their favourite hawker stall, then completely throw the recipe book out of the window and invent something new.

Purple noodles with rainbow dumplings, anyone?

PLAY-DOH Crazy Waffle Café Playset – SGD $19.90

Serve Breakfast With a Side of Imagination

Breakfast lovers, this one's for you.

With the PLAY-DOH Crazy Waffle Café Playset, little chefs can create five different waffle shapes before piling them with pretend fruits, chocolate chips and all sorts of colourful toppings.

Instead of simply making waffles, children can turn playtime into their own little café, creating dishes, taking pretend orders and serving their wonderfully over-the-top breakfast creations. And if you're going to run a PLAY-DOH café, you might as well make the waffles as crazy as possible right?

Chocolate? Yes.

Fruit? Sure.

Rainbow everything? Absolutely.

There are no calories here anyway. 😂

Maybe Playing With Your Food Isn't So Bad After All

Looking at these new PLAY-DOH sets definitely brings back memories of sitting down with those colourful tubs and just making whatever came to mind.

Toys have certainly become much fancier since then, but there's something nice about PLAY-DOH still being PLAY-DOH. You squish it, roll it, shape it, mix colours you probably shouldn't mix and eventually end up with a creation that exists nowhere else except in your imagination. And perhaps that's exactly why it has lasted through generations.

The PLAY-DOH Stamp & Spin Pizza Playset (SGD $24.90), Wok & Wonton Playset (SGD $19.90) and Crazy Waffle Café Playset (SGD $19.90) are available online, at Toys"R"Us and major retailers.

As for me?

I'm now waiting to get my hands on Blooms by PLAY-DOH. 👀 Those are definitely calling out to the kidult in me. When are we going to start seeing them in Singapore?

Because apparently I've gone from playing with PLAY-DOH food as a kid to wanting PLAY-DOH flowers as an adult. Let's stay tuned for updates...

More Than Just a Festival

I love events like this because they remind me that you don't always have to head into town for a fun weekend. Some of the most meaningful experiences can happen right in our own neighbourhoods, and PAssionArts Festival is a lovely excuse to slow down, explore and appreciate the communities around us.

Beyond the National Day weekend celebrations, PAssionArts Festival continues across Singapore throughout August and September with 79 festival villages, each showcasing its own interpretation of "Our Neighbourhood Gems." From giant collaborative art installations and live performances to workshops where you can create your own artwork, there's always something new waiting to be discovered.

One initiative I'm particularly excited about is the return of Giant Delight, where artists and residents work together to transform shared structures into large-scale artworks inspired by their own communities. It really captures what this festival is all about—celebrating creativity while bringing neighbours together.

Whether you're looking for a fun family outing, a creative date idea, or simply another way to celebrate SG61 beyond the fireworks, PAssionArts Festival offers plenty of reasons to explore your own neighbourhood—or perhaps discover one you've never visited before.

Happy National Day, and have fun exploring Singapore's neighbourhood gems! 🇸🇬✨

WhatsApp's Latest Features Make Everyday Messaging Even Easier: iPad Sign-Up, CarPlay, PDF Upgrades & More

Hi Huneybees,

WhatsApp has become one of those apps most of us use every single day. Whether it's coordinating dinner plans with friends, sharing funny reels with family, replying to work messages, or simply sending that familiar "Have you eaten?" text, it's hard to imagine our daily lives without it.

Because it's become such a big part of how we communicate, every new update has the potential to make those everyday interactions just a little smoother. The latest feature rollout isn't about dramatic changes, but rather thoughtful improvements that fit naturally into the way we already use WhatsApp. They're small upgrades, but they're the kind that regular users will definitely appreciate.

You Can Finally Sign Up for WhatsApp Directly on an iPad

When WhatsApp first arrived on iPad last year, I remember thinking, "It's about time!" The only catch was that you still needed your phone to get everything set up. It worked, but it wasn't exactly convenient if you wanted to use the iPad as your primary device.

Now, that's no longer an issue.

You can register for a brand-new WhatsApp account directly from the iPad app without linking it to your phone first. It's a small change, but one that makes the app much more flexible, especially for users who prefer working or studying from their tablets. For anyone who spends hours on an iPad every day, replying to messages from a larger screen just feels so much more comfortable.

WhatsApp Is Becoming Even Better for Drivers

If you're someone who relies on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto during your daily commute, this update is worth taking note of.

WhatsApp has refreshed the in-car experience, making it easier to:

 • Listen to incoming messages

 • Reply using voice commands

 • Make WhatsApp calls

 • View recent call history

 • Access your favourite contacts

The biggest win here is that everything remains hands-free, helping drivers stay connected without constantly reaching for their phones. It's definitely one of those features you will need, now that the traffic rules are much stricter.

No More Downloading PDFs First

This might actually be my favourite update.

If you've ever received event itineraries, restaurant menus, travel confirmations or work documents through WhatsApp Web or Desktop, you'll know the routine.

Download the PDF.

Open another application.

Find the file.

Read it.

Now you can simply open PDF documents directly inside WhatsApp without downloading them first.

Better still, Adobe Acrobat powers the experience, allowing users to make simple edits such as highlighting important sections or adding annotations before continuing the conversation. For anyone who frequently works from their computer, this definitely removes several unnecessary steps from the process.

Share Your Current Soundtrack on WhatsApp Status

Music has always been one of the easiest ways to share a little bit of your personality.

With this update, you can now share songs directly from Spotify or Apple Music to your WhatsApp Status in just a few taps. Whether you're obsessed with the latest K-pop release, rediscovering nostalgic Cantopop classics, or simply have a song stuck in your head, it's now much easier to let your contacts know what's currently on repeat.

It's a fun little feature that makes WhatsApp Status feel a little more expressive.

Small Updates That Make Everyday Messaging Better

What I appreciate most is that WhatsApp continues to introduce thoughtful updates that quietly make everyday messaging a little easier. They're not major overhauls, but they help smooth out the little frustrations many of us run into, making WhatsApp feel even more intuitive and better suited to the way we communicate today.

As someone who probably spends far too much time on WhatsApp every day, these are exactly the kind of quality-of-life upgrades I didn't know I needed.

The new features are already rolling out, so if you don't see them just yet, make sure your app is updated— they should be arriving soon.

Hi Huneybees,

Orchard Road is about to get a little louder this August; and this time, the spotlight is firmly on Singapore's homegrown talents.

Just in time for the National Day celebrations, The Centrestage is returning to The Centrepoint for its second edition on 1 and 2 August 2026, bringing together live music, local artists, creative brands and exclusive collaborations right in the heart of Orchard Road.

Themed “Celebration in the Spotlight”, this year's two-day showcase will take over the Level 1 Atrium at The Centrepoint, with performances by 10 emerging and established local acts, headlined by Jeff Ng and Yokez.

But there's more happening beyond the stage too. Visitors can discover homegrown brands including SADSHRIMPS, The Liquor Shop and White Rabbit, redeem limited-edition merchandise and enjoy a series of FRx rewards throughout the National Day season.

If you're looking for something to do over the National Day period , or simply want to discover more of Singapore's creative scene, here's what you can expect...

Homegrown Singapore Music Takes Centre Stage

At the heart of The Centrestage is, of course, the music.

This year's programme brings together performers from different ages, backgrounds and musical styles, reflecting the diversity of Singapore's growing creative community.

Headlining the two evenings are Jeff Ng and Yokez, who will each close the night with their respective performances.Recognised as one of Singapore's most prominent buskers, Jeff Ng brings nearly two decades of musical experience to the stage, spanning original music, popular street performances and festival appearances.

Yokez, meanwhile, brings a fresh bilingual Mandopop sound to the line-up, combining her contemporary musical style with a strong digital presence that has helped her connect with younger audiences.

The programme will be hosted by Kiss92 presenter Juliana Yeow and will also feature performances by a mix of rising local talents and student ensembles.

The line-up includes Absence!, Eli Low, Julian, Ishbel Warifa, Ryan Wu, SMU Chamber Choir, Noah Fang, Elijah Seah, Bernice Ong and Jenshin.

One to look out for is Singapore indie-pop trio Absence!, fronted by lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Aida Zul, alongside guitarist and instrumentalist Ryan Lai and drummer and producer Luke Lee. Known for their quirky blend of alternative and synth pop, the trio brings yet another distinctive sound to the weekend's diverse line-up.

With The Centrepoint's central location along Orchard Road, The Centrestage offers an accessible way for shoppers, families, music lovers and even those simply passing through Somerset to stop and discover Singapore's homegrown music scene.

More Than Music: Discover Local Brands and Creators

Beyond the live performances, The Centrestage will also shine a spotlight on Singapore's creative and lifestyle scene, with a curated showcase featuring homegrown brands including SADSHRIMPS, The Liquor Shop and White Rabbit.

One of the highlights is an exclusive collaboration with Singapore illustrator Natasha Elle, founder of lifestyle brand SADSHRIMPS. Shoppers who spend a minimum of $61 can redeem a limited-edition SADSHRIMPS x The Centrepoint Mug and Sticker Set, featuring Natasha's signature whimsical illustrations and created specially as a keepsake celebrating local artistry.

Celebrating Singapore's Creative Community in the Heart of Orchard Road

The return of The Centrestage is part of The Centrepoint's ongoing efforts to transform the mall into more than simply a place to shop and dine. By bringing musicians, artists, creators and local businesses together in one accessible space, the programme creates opportunities for Singapore's creative talents to reach new audiences, while giving visitors something unexpected to discover during an everyday trip to Orchard Road.

Ms Rachel Fang, General Manager of The Centrepoint, shared that this year's edition brings together a new and diverse line-up of local talent, creating more opportunities for visitors to discover and connect with homegrown artists.
