Have A Memorable Wedding At iFly's Sky Garden

Hi Huneybees,

Looking for a location to hold your wedding banquet is definitely a headache for most couples. How does a place filled with magical moments sound? Together with an unforgettable experience and great food, whilst overlooking the beautiful Sentosa beach horizon as you celebrate your joint of union with your friends and family, I bet you will be falling head over heels once again.

A new rooftop location has popped up right above the popular iFly Singapore - the Sky Garden is the place to go to where dream weddings and inspiring events come alive. The Sky Garden has been updated with landscaping on the rooftop, Canon's imaging systems, LED lightings as well as state-of-the-art sound system from K-array and Bose to cater to your needs.

There are several wedding packages for soon-to-be wed couples to choose from. My highly recommended would be to take the Chinese Banquet or Western Sit Down Dinner package as you and your guests could also enjoy the fantastic fireworks and laser show, courtesy of Sky Garden's near proximity and height to Wings of Time.

Not only is the place decorated as per your request, your invited guests can also enjoy the good food with catering from (Orange Clove Catering, Rasel Catering Singapore and Purple Sage Group) whilst witnessing you guys share your vows. Together with the fireworks, this will be a precious  photo moment to capture and show in the future to your kids.

But of course, this space could also be used for your corporate events. Imagine having a spectacular night for companies' D&D or even a conference to wow those clients of yours!

Together at the launch, iFly Singapore celebrated their 4th anniversary. (And as everyone knows), this year is SG50 - Singapore's Golden Jubilee, founder and managing director for iFly Singapore (w also a former commando in Singapore Armed Forces) - Lawrence Koh, led a team of skydivers on a commemorative effort to break 5 Guinness World Records

The 5 Guinness World Records are:

 • Most Passes through a Hula Hoop in the Wind tunnel in 1 minute
 • Most 360 Horizontal Spins in a Wind Tunnel in 1 minute
 • Most 2-way Verticals in 1 minute
 • Most Forward/Backward Movements in a Wind Tunnel in 1 minute
 • Most Skydiving Wind Tunnel Verticals in 1 minute

Lawrence Koh also took the opportunity to share iFly 2015 pipeline, during the launch of Sky Garden, which 2nd edition to "So You Think You Can Fly:The School Edition" and it's planned expansion outside Singapore to the region. A call for entries will commence in June with the finals culminating at the end of this year.

The competition this year will serve as a platform for iFly Singapore to work closely with participating local schools to introduce the sport to its students in a safe, fun manner. So stay tuned for more updates! :)

Fly On The Wings Of Time This Hari Raya Weekend Break

Hi Huneybees,

The weekend is approaching and have you made plans? I always love spending time with me hubby during weekends as this is the best time for us to let our hair down and enjoy some quality time together. Most of the time, it will be a case of looking for interesting events happening in town for us to practice and pit our photography skills against each other. Just some friendly competition to get our "fire of love" burning bright. Hehehehe... Corny ain't it?

Well, if you like some little "theatrics", why not come join us at Sentosa and end your night watching the latest "Wings Of Time"?

Against the beautiful sunset, a Mozart-ques character brings out a few friends to have us prepped in some song and dance whilst we waited for the sun to go down the horizon and the sky turns dark. That's when the story unfolds as 2 teenagers - Rachel and Felix helps a hidden bird-like character - Shahbaz, head back into his time as they ride on its Wings of Time.

Leave modern Singapore behind and travel through panoramic vistas of the Silk Road era, African Savannah and dive into the deep ocean amongst the laser show, water fountain showcase, pyrotechnics and definitely not forgetting the fireworks at the end of the show!

It is great fun especially when you have your friends and family along, I would the more the merrier! So, come on down this long holiday weekend and have a great time. I shall leave you with more photos from the show and more details will be at the end of it...

Wings of Time is a ticketed performance, with daily shows at 7.40pm and 8.40pm along Siloso Beach. Premium seats are available at S$23 per person, while standard seats are at S$18 (standard rate), and S$15 for local residents. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wingsoftime.com.sg or on site at the ticketing counters.

Sentosa Rides On "Wings Of Time" In Preparation For An All New Experience

Hi Huneybees,

Get ready as an all new iconic night attraction at Sentosa gets a facelift and returns with an all new experience!

Barges and giant cranes are used to bring in the individual “triangles” that form the panoramic backdrop for the show.

The preparation goes underway for the development of Wings of Time with the installation of the new backdrop and equipment to the upgrading of existing effects, the stage is being set to provide guests with a wondrous one-of-a-kind experience of majestic proportions. With the increased focus on audience engagement, an ensemble of 20 talented young artistes is in the midst of intensive training to enthrall audiences this June.

Technicians in progress as they carefully secure each portion of the backdrop. Every “triangle” is painstakingly mounted individually.
Sentosa worked closely with the production team from ECA2 to tear down the existing backdrop from Songs of the Sea, and construct the new backdrop – a 10-metre backdrop, consisting of 9 triangles that would be illuminated to create panoramic vistas during the performances.

Careful planning and meticulous installation stretched over a week as this was the first time such a structure has been planned and installed in the world. The multimedia effects of over 180 equipment, including six 3D projectors, coloured lasers, and water fountains have also been installed. Night testing of equipment is currently in progress till 16 June.

The completed backdrop – set among the picturesque scenery of Sentosa’s Siloso Beach, ready to greet our guests soon.
The Birth of Stars
Wings of Time will see a greater extent of audience engagement, with the inclusion of a pre-show segment. A team of 20 talented young artistes from Singapore and overseas have been brought together for intensive training in vocals, acting, and audience engagement skills.

Goodbye To Songs Of The Sea, Hello Wings Of Time!

Hi Huneybees,

As the sun sets, we waved goodbye to Sentosa's Signature Songs of the Sea show. I was treated to one final round of the theatrical show with the CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation - Mr Mike Barclay.

After a successful 7 year run, the show has captivated 8.5 million guests with its unique blend of live cast, dramatic effects and pyrotechnics. I remember spending one of my birthdays at Sentosa and the night ended with a lovely time with hubby as we watched the sun set and the show began. You can read all about it here - http://huneyzworld.blogspot.sg/2012/09/happy-birthday-sentosa.html.

Before we proceeded to the show, Mr Mike Barclay gave us a speech, announcing the upcoming plans of the upcoming new show that will take over in 17 June 2014 - Wings of Time.

Wings of Time (produced by the award-winning events company ECA2) will be showcasing a new choreography of pyrotechnics and special effects woven together, telling the story of a fantastic journey through time and space. A bird-like creature - Shahbaz will travel from prehistoric times to go on an adventure with 2 modern-day teenagers in search of home.

Along the way, they will discover the world by exploring wondrous locations around the world and as they helped Shahbaz find his way home, they will face a test of courage and friendship, alongside the new 10-metre tall backdrop against the Sentosa Siloso Beach skyline, new robotic fountains and 3D video mapping.

Wings of Time will be a ticketed performance, with daily shows at 7.40pm and 8.40pm along Siloso Beach. Premium seats are available at S$23 per person, while standard seats are at S$18 (standard rate) and S$15 (local residents).

Advanced tickets are available from 12 May onwards at store.sentosa.com.sg

So, I shall leave you with photos of the final moments of Songs of the Sea. The cast even did a special segment of dancing "into" the audience crowd and giving CEO Mr Mike Barclay "Hi 5"!!! I simply can't wait to catch the new show - Wings of Time.
