SHOPPING - a "sport" that I love indulging in every day, there is always an excuse to go shopping, be it for a new pair of shoes, to check out the latest beauty product or simply just to enjoy the air conditioning, there is no way I would reject going shopping. LOL!

With the change of weather, comes a new season and maybe it's time to change up your style and closet? Raffles City recently had a refreshing new take on the fashion runway, sending models dressed in fashion pieces and accessories that the mall carries, showing their customers that you don't have to play safe and shop in just one store to get your style going, it's fun sometimes to mix and match across their stores and see what special "concoction" style you can come up with.

Themed as "Your Gateway to Style", new styles are created as the familiar classic get restyled, reworked and reimagined. Retro prints of the '80s as well as the voluminous shapes of the '90s, get updated on the runway of Raffles City's Spring/Summer 2019 showcase under the hands of fashion producer and stylist Jerome Awasthi. He pairs the season's hottest style and trends from international names such as Shanghai Tang, MAJE, Mango, Kate Spade together with Singapore's very own brands such as SABRINAGOH, GINLEE Studio, KLARRA and Womb.

URBAN REVIVO Collaborates With Artist Pauline Yau For A Different Shopping Experience

There's a new fashion player in town all ready to change our fashion scene - URBAN REVIVO. They are set to take on global competitors such as Spanish clothing retailer Zara, British brand Topshop and Swedish label H&M.

Founded in 2006, URBAN REVIVO officially opened its first store outside of China in Raffles City and Plaza Singapura. Stepping into the store, you are immediately welcomed by the brightly lit, spacious shopping space, where each collection is nicely segregated and arranged for the best shopping experience. You can have your very own private shopping space without having to fight with another browsing customer.

As you walk into every section of the store, there's a showcase of what's new and recommended. Alongside, there's beautiful installations to make the pieces shine even more and its all part of a collaboration with Hong Kong based artist - Pauline Yau to bring her artwork to life in all 180 stores, globally, including Singapore's. 

The new collaboration is in line with the brand’s core concept of Play Fashion and marks the latest installment of the brand’s ongoing passion and support for the Arts. URBAN REVIVO x ART is an ongoing collaborative project with various artists. Previously, the brand worked with artists such as Janine Rewell and Juslin Maunula. 

Entitled as Motion in Flight, we can experience the pairing of Pauline's organic creations with the softness to URBAN REVIVO's Fall collection. The design concept was selected to create, inspire and evoke a sense of nature, ever changing landscapes and the beauty of Fall, much like the ever-changing fashion cycle each year (Fall-Winter and Spring-Summer). 

The artwork will features elements of movement, flashes of colour and pulsing vibrancy of life in nature. You can also find beautiful circular wire-framed structures willing the windows and pillars in stores, with elements of gold butterflies dancing, bringing a pop of vibrancy into the store.

URBAN REVIVO not only carries fashion pieces for the ladies, they have it for the guys and kids as well; with shoes and accessories, this could be your one-stop shop for all your wardrobe needs. Their design are nothing short from the European designs, very in line with what's hot in the fashion scene these days.

For those who are skeptical of a Chinese label, you can throw that behind you as they are very careful with choosing their fabrics, every hem is stitched nicely, you won't find running threads. It's definitely a label that can be on par with those big labels as mentioned above.

The price range is a little steep though, I would say it starts from S$30 and above for each clothing. I would have loved to purchase more, but sadly their range of sizes were not too "big girls" friendly. For those size 14 and above, you might have to try your luck. I really do hope that they cater more sizes, coz I'm pretty in love with their designs.

See! I even picked to wear this adorable suede jumper/dress to attend the Singapore Fashion Week 2017. It's a design you don't see everywhere and it's so vibrant, I definitely stood out from the crowd.

MOS Cafe Opens Their First Singapore Branch @ Raffles City

Since the first MOS Burger branch opened in Singapore, I've been a fan of their menu. Established in Tokyo, Japan and being a healthier choice compared to other fast food restaurants, this JPop crazy fan can never resist. I used to head over there after school to get myself a cup of corn soup, a yakiniku rice burger and a cup of ice milk tea to enjoy whilst chatting with my friends.

Even till now, I will still have my MOS Burger cravings every now and then. That's why, when I was invited to the opening of the very first Singapore's MOS Café @ Raffles City, I agreed to it immediately.

Do note, this is MOS Café, not a revamped MOS Burger restaurant!

Like any typical Japanese restaurant, you will find delicately crafted models of the recommended food samples exhibited in the display window to give you a preview of what's on their menu. I was already drooling even before I got in...

 

The cafe is refreshing space to step into and would make great place for some alone time, a break between shopping trips or even a day out with your BFFs. Spaciously designed and brightly lit space, the MOS Café embodies all 3 of its branding with soothing natural greens and wood:

• ‘M’ mountain - To stand tall and firm like a mountain.
• ‘O’ Ocean - To have a heart that is broad and deep as the ocean.
• ‘S’ Sun - To have passion like the sun that never burns out. 

Stepping up on the "fresh" concept, the MOS Café menu utilizes lots of fresh vegetables and fruits and you will get to see them all on display at the counter together with the cakes and menu for easy reading and ordering.

I keep drumming and drumming on about the menu, so what's new?

Something special would be the Tortilla Salad. Thoughtfully using whole wheat flour tortillas as well as seven different kinds of vegetables and beans (corn, lettuce, onion, chickpeas, red beans,
and okra), packed together with the "instructions manual", even a lady can eat it daintily without having to spoil their gentle lady image. Not only will you not have the ingredients dropping everywhere, you can even have a bigger bite, by hiding behind the specially designed paper wrap.

The Wagyu Tower Burger is 15 layers tall to resemble the Tokyo Tower. Though it might be a challenge to eat this burger, but when you bite into the juicy wagyu beef patty, you will definitely be forgetting about your image. LOL!

Bun, lettuce, Wagyu beef patty, ketchup, ham, chili sauce, sliced red onion, tomatoes, Wagyu beef patty, cheese, mayonnaise, chopped onion, chili sauce, lettuce, bun.

For those hoping to look for a filling meal, you can also try their Rice Bowls. Available in Chicken and Avocado, Chicken Vegetables Curry and Wagyu Demi-Glace options, you will be able to bite into their fresh vegetable and freshly cut avocado. 

Using only the No.1 rice in Japan, Koshihikari Rice from Niigata Prefecture, you will definitely be going back for seconds.

The drinks are also not to be missed. Other than the usual milk tea, you should also try their specially created fruit drinks like the Special Fruit Tea, Citrus Soda Tea, Fruit Smoothie and Vegetable Smoothie. 

Of course, no meal is done without dessert. My favourite? Matcha Mini Parfait! Topped with Matcha ice cream, azuki bean paste and freshly cut fruits, this not-too-sweet dessert would be best shared with your loved ones.

The arrival of the MOS Café has definitely reignited my love for their healthier choice of food. I've already made a date with my BFFs to head back for another round, be sure to head on over soon! :)

[What's New] Gillette Endorsed Public Shaving and Performance On Razors Rigged Piano

Shaving might be something every guy does in the morning but when we have Bobby Tonelli shaving in public, that's definitely something special to wake up to. :)

Yes, you read that right, the Singapore-based Texan host did just that in front of the invited media during a session to promote the new Gillette Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology on 13th August 2015 at the trendy Salt & Tapas Bar in Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Bobby demonstrated to all that you don’t have to contort your face to get a close shave; just let the NEW ProGlide with Flexball Technology do all the work, letting you guys looking hot, when the ladies are watching. ;)

Thereafter, to further show off the movement of the new Gillette Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology, Gillette got, the currently Music Director of VOCO Singapore Ladies Choir, Assistant Choirmaster of the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir and Founder & Artstic Director of the VOICES OF ASIA International Choir Festival, Darius Lim to compose an original piece of music and played it on a piano rigged with the razors.

This was the Singaporean Conductor-Composer's first ever live performance of Gillette's Prepared piano. The keys of the piano are struck entirely from Gillette's New revolutionary shavers, attached to a metal plank and another keyboard.

This unique piano will be on display to public at Raffles City Shopping Centre Level 1, Garden Court from 13th to 19th August and my Huneybees, you may want to catch it before it is scheduled to be flown to other Asian cities thereafter as part of Gillette Fusion ProGlide with FlexBall Technology regional marketing promotion.



What's more, during this period, first 100 shoppers to bring any old system razor to the Raffles City, will be able to exchange their razor for a complimentary Gillette Flexball for free!

The Gillette Flexball is already out in stores and I know I'm definitely stocking up on them, and watching hubby in the morning shaving will be my new hobby. *wink*
