Yes! After the interview at the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides, The Muppets are finally back with their movie debut! They have disappeared for a super long time and now they are back with a movie! Join them on their adventure to save The Muppet Theatre starring Jason Segel (Marshall Eriksen in HIMYM series), Amy Adams (Amelia Earhart in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian) and of course The Muppets!

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. And amongst all of The Muppets, one character stood out and I find her very close to my heart. She represents the plus size ladies, who are confident in themselves, never fail to express themselves and still get a boyfriend who loves her dearly. She is none other than MISS PIGGY herself!

She was the Lady Gaga, Beyonce of The Muppets crew. Ever so dramatic, but always getting what she wants done. She always have her super fancy wardrobe and hairstyle to match. Have you heard? She even had a M.A.C. collection in her name! My idol!

Here's a little video on the movie's premiere in USA. Wonder will it be like that in Singapore too? I hope to be able to take a pic with Miss Piggy herself... :)

[Get The Look] Nails and Makeup to Gala Premiere of "Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"

Hi Huneybees,

I was recently invited to the Gala Premiere of "Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and I knew I had to spot the dark eyeliner look on Captain Jack Sparrow that day.

All thanks to this trusty Etude House eyeshadow palette I acquired recently.

I used (1) - Matte Beige eyeshadow as base and (3) - Shiny White eyeshadow at the brow bone. And the final step is to apply (2) - Shiny Grey eyeshadow on the rest of the eye and (4) - Glittery Black eyeshadow from double eyelid to lashes. See below for better understanding.

So, on to the nail art. When you think of pirates what do you think of? Skulls, treasure chest and the main attraction of the film, mermaid eh? That's what I did exactly.

Thanks to my trusty O.P.I. nail polishes from the Pirates of Caribbean collection and crackle. This was the nail art I spotted that night.

This is a failure attempt on creating mermaid tail splashing on water. But it's still an idea eh?

Mermaids of Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Hi Huneybees,

Yesterday I posted an entry about "Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and I mentioned that one of the main attraction are the semi-nude mermaids. Yes, 'semi' coz it's a Disney production (means for kids to watch too).

So who are these beautiful ladies acting the parts of mermaid? Let me reveal them all here.

In this adventure, the mythical creatures: Mermaids are in fact the new vampires of the sea. They are beautiful, yet conniving and dangerous. They will do anything to protect their home at the Whitecap Bay. So, the choices of mermaids falls mainly on models who can swim.

THE MERMAID CAST:
Syrena played by Astrid Berges-Frisbey (Spanish actress)

Bergès-Frisbey was born in Barcelona, Spain, to a Spanish Catalan father and a French-American mother. She made her acting debut in 2007 on French television, and has since appeared in films alongside Isabelle Hupper, Vincent Perez and Daniel Auteuil. In 2008, she made her feature debut in the film The Sea Wall. She took her first steps into the fashion world in 2010, fronting French Connection's spring/summer campaign, The Woman, and continued in its autumn/winter campaign for a second consecutive season.

Personally picked by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall, Bergès-Frisbey made he English language debut in 2011 in the highly-anticipated sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She landed the role of mermaid Syrena after a whirlwind of auditions in France, Hollywood and the UK. Since her character played a vital role in the story, she had to refresh her acquaintance with the English language.

Tamara played by Gemma Ward (Super model who has appeared countless times in Vogue magazines, runways, ads, etc.) 

Gemma Ward, but she reminds me so much of Amanda Seyfried.

Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 3D Movie Gala Premiere

Hi Huneybees,

Last night, I attended the Walt Disney, "Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" 3D movie Gala Premiere and it also launched the officially Grand Opening of Shaw Theatres Lido at Shaw Lido Imax. A special thanks to Nuffnang for the tickets.

It's the first time I went to the cinema after it's renovation and I must say, it's so much fresher, more welcoming and definitely an improvement from the last I saw it.

There was an event before, but I was delayed... :(

Screens all over the cinema were filled with Pirates of Caribbean's movie posters.

 There were a few media companies that night, giving out the gala premiere tickets and Canon was there to capture the special moment for everyone. Even though I was late, I still managed to grab a picture with Captain Jack Sparrow!

This time round, they have left Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom out, but they compensated with lots of eye candy aside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz. For the guys, it's definitely the mermaids and for ladies, there's some cute Britsh sailors which get 5 secs of fame or Sam Claflin who plays "Philip" across the lead mermaid.

One couple that gets the most exposure would be "Philip and Syrena". A courageous missionary who fell in love with a not so fierce mermaid.

And with such a magnificent set like this, one can guarantee the movie is a must-watch!

This is allegedly the Los Angeles set of the mermaid lagoon at Universal Studios  (via).

 I give the movie a 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Go check out the movie in 3D at the new IMAX theatre at Shaw Lido. :)

By now I guess everyone would know what this bandanna skull represents right? Yes! Johnny Depp is back in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides!


This time, he has "abandoned" Keira Knightly and the suave Orlando Bloom, got himself a lovely mate, Penélope Cruz. Finally, you can see some romance and sexiness eh? Who can deny it right?  She's THE "Spanish enchantress"!

The movie only opens on 19th May 2011, so what can you do other than checking out their official website?


I joined their FB page, jumped on board the Queen Anne's Revenge and completed the "All Aboard" contest.

Then I went on to the "Games & Activites" tab.

There are 3 games to choose from.

I tried all 3 games. They're all pretty interesting and totally a "pirate-y" time! Let's check out the first one, "Skull Creator". Basically, I was given a 3D modeled skull and a set of accessories to add to the skull.

So, I gave it a Captain's hat, some scars, fiery eyes, mustache and earrings. This was how the final piece looked like. And the wonderful creators allowed me to save the skull down for different uses. There's a choice for FB profile, FB gallery, wallpapers for computer desktop, iPads, iPhone, mobile and MSN icon. Cool right?

Then, there's the "Pirate Yourself" game. Like the name suggest, the game allows me to upload a picture of myself and make a pirate of myself! I did a simple video fr you guys to see.

Lastly, is the game that I love the most! "Battle Galleons"! It's in fact the game "Battleship" with a pirate twist. There's quite a bit of action and it's fun to bomb other pirate ships. Hehehehe... Words can describe much, I made a video  of the 2 games I played, but I just couldn't stop. I was playing it all noon. :p
