Blackpink's Lisa Is MAC's New Global Brand Ambassador

Hi Huneybees,

The Estée Lauder Companies-owned makeup brand MAC Cosmetics has named K-Pop Idol Lisa Manobal, aka ‘Lisa’, as its new Global Brand Ambassador. The internationally renowned K-pop member of group Blackpink is having a busy year, to say the least. This month alone, Blackpink dropped their first full-length album, released a documentary on Netflix, and now MAC's newest global brand ambassador.

The big news was announced on Instagram with Lisa swiping on MAC's Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over with glittery lilac winged liner, blunt bangs, and ultra-long silver nails. For fans who are interested to achieve this signature look, here's a list of the MAC products used...

MAC Eye Shadow in Stars 'N' Rockets

With a high pigment load, this eye shadow gives a subversive sweep of purple.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

Lightweight with a natural matte finish, this foundation offers buildable coverage in 63 shades (Lisa wears N18).

MAC Prep + Prime Lip
This transparent base lends moisture and smooths the skin's surface before a swipe of lipstick.

MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Mull It Over
Matte without being moisture-sapping, this ruddy-peach lipstick gives a plush hit of color.

MAC Dazzleshadow Liquid in Diamond Crumbles

Holographic with pink pearl, this high-gloss liquid shadow stays put through the night.

MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish

This highlighter dusts on for an incandescent pop; Lisa wears the peachy shade Show Gold.

MAC Brushstroke 24-Hour Liner

A precision-tip liquid liner (shown in Brushblack) is the default for a long-wearing cat-eye.

MAC Eye Shadow in Espresso

This soft brown is a neutral contour for the lid - or a starting point for adventurous looks.

MAC Dazzleshadow Liquid in Panthertized

A shimmery black flecked with green and purple pearl, this eye gloss delivers a hit of drama.

Shine Bright Like A STARRR This Valentines' Day

Hi Huneybees,

YES! YES! YES!!! After waiting for so long, seeing so much intros and reviews online, the M.A.C x Patrick Starrr is finally here in Singapore and I've got them in my arms now.  *My Precious*

Started out being a makeup artist in M.A.C Store and now a top beauty Vlogger, you know you won't go wrong with this collection. Bright and sultry eyes to catch every guy's attention, with soft kissable come-hither lips, it's a collection not to be missed. The collection is not too flashy, very universal for almost all skin tones and ages.

"I literally wanted someone's grandma to be able to walk into a MAC store anywhere in the world and be able to use these products. I made sure it was universal so that anyone who loves makeup, glamour, and sparkle will find something in it."

The hero product of this range has got to be the Patrick's Setting Powder. He's been sharing and teasing us on his social media and you can see that alot of thought as been put into this simple product. He wanted this to be a universal baking powder for you to set your makeup and after using it today, I'm falling in love with it, my skin looks so smooth and almost poreless, with my makeup lasting through the day with no touch-ups.

Next up, are the 2 Eyeshadow Quad palettes - Goalgetter and Glam AF. Both of them are in the earth tones range with Goalgetter on the warm tone and Glam AF on a more cool tone palette. Each consist of 3 mattes eyeshadow and a shimmery shade.

Goalgetter Eyeshadow Quad

I opted for the Goalgetter palette for the colours are more vibrant and the shimmery shade - Amber Lights was calling out to be the moment I swatched the palettes.

Glam AF Eyeshadow Quad

As for the Glam AF palette, I find the shade Omigaud a little loosely pigmented and hard to get the colour to show, you might need to wet your brush to make the colour pop.

Lastly, we have the matching Lipglasses, Lipsticks and Lip Pencils. I love the names of each product, but the colours were a little too common, something that I might each already have at least 5 of. I was hoping to see a little more glitter or shimmery shades.

But then again, I'm someone who likes stronger lip colours, something that's out of the norm; for those who are looking for lip colours to wear through the day, from work till night dates, these colours and formulas are amazing. You have literally matching colour sets, you don't have to make your own matches for Lip Pencils or Lipsticks.

Overall, I find the collection a little overhyped, I was hoping to see more colours, more glitz and glamour; it does make a decent collection, but nothing I'll go crazy about, even the packaging was not exciting for me.

Of course, now with Patrick Starrr as M.A.C's Key Artist Collaborator, I'm looking forward to seeing what surprises he have for us. For now, I'll just be waiting for the Jeremy Scott collection to be in my hands...

[What's New] M.A.C X Carine Roitfeld Collection

Hi Huneybees,

Carine Roitfeld (Edgy and provocative, image-maker, editor and stylist) channels her signature smokey eye look for her debut M.A.C Cosmetics collection, featuring full face kits with eyeshadows and cremeblend brush for creating a chic backdrop for dramatic eyes.

Now, creating smokey and that lazy sexiness is super easy with the collection. Deep set, dark eyes with contoured jawlines and a nude lip is what you need to channel that inner Carine Roitfeld in you.

My purchases...

I got the Desert Camouflage Face Kit, which is the lighter tone one and I guess it suits most Asian skin colour. I also got the Carine Roitfeld lipstick (Tropical Mist). It's the perfect NUDE, just the right amount of color, to tell you have something on, but subtle enough to still be natural. I love my lips nude and it's even great when you have no or light makeup on!

The colours are so easy to use and so natural for build up from day to night makeup. Just get the face kit for me and I bet you will have lots of fun with it!

Let me stress again. I LOVE the colours! It's so easy to achieve the sultry smokey look!!! :)

[Get The Look] M.A.C. Marilyn Monroe

Hi Huneybees,

M.A.C. have unveiled their limited edition collection inspired by iconic screen siren - Marilyn Monroe for cosmetic fiends to get fired up!

The Marilyn collection oozes with the starlet’s signature sex appeal - strong red lipsticks, pink blushers, false lashes, nail lacquers and shimmering eye shadows are the must for the inner Marilyn in you. With names like Preferred Blonde, Silver Screen and Showgirl, everyone can be a Marilyn walking down the street.

The packaging features various black images of Marilyn with her signature in scarlet. Those lusting after Marilyn’s perfect red lips will be delighted with the selection available – in shades including Scarlet Ibis, Love Goddess and Deeply Adored. With the red Marilyn Monroe Lip Pencils and Marilyn Monroe Dazzleglass, one can definitely have the sexy pucker lips....

For the face, there’s a Beauty Powder called Forever Marilyn and 2 powder blushes - Legendary (a pale coral in a satin finish) and The Perfect Cheek (a matte pink beige).

Eyeshadows are How to Marry, Preferred Blonde, Silver Screen and Showgirl. Together with the 35 Lash False Lashes, Penulitmate Eyeliner, Eye Kohl, Penultimate Brow, Brow Finisher and mascara - False Lashes, you can have the most seductive eyes ever.

Nail colours are available in shades - (Rich, Rich, Rich), Stage Red, Vintage Vamp, Flaming Rose and Kid Orange.

The collection is already available in all M.A.C. stores and I've already gotten my few must-have products from the collection at ION Sephora. However, the eye shadows were not available. I will have to head to town again another day. Here's a preview of what I've bought.

The packaging is a monochrome image of Marilyn Monroe in different poses for the different products, together with a Scarlett Red Marilyn Monroe signature. However, the lady on the packaging and ad is not the real Marilyn as she has gone to a better place, so they had a model who looks like her for the images...

Inside every box, you will find a sexy lipstick mark. What a surprise...

For face, I got the Beauty Powder (Forever Marilyn) and a blusher (Legendary). A red lipstick is a must and I got the Love Goddess that has a slight pink tinge to it. As well as sparkly white gloss called Little Rock to add shine to the lipstick.

Other products I got is the Beet Lip Pencil to match the Love Goddess Lipstick as well as the must get Brow Finisher for the sleek eyebrow and hold it for the day.

And lastly, red nails for the sexy lady. I got 2 shades - Kid Orange and Vintage Vamp. One is a bright red orange and the other is slightly to the goth side, a deep maroon colour.

Wana know how to look like Marilyn herself? Here's a tutorial how...

Hi Huneybees,

Singapore Flyer’s FrightFest 2012 returns bigger and better!

Iconic attraction works with Singapore Polytechnic to plan and run month long Halloween event. Early bird packages also launched ahead of schedule (Singapore – June 26, 2012) The world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel continues to brand itself as an iconic lifestyle destination, as it rolls out the city district’s biggest Halloween extravaganza happening this October.

Following the success of the inaugural FrightFest last year, FrightFest 2012 @ Singapore Flyer returns as a three weeks long event. And for the first time, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is working with the iconic attraction for the latest installment of FrightFest. A strong team of 17 Year Two students from SP’s Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management will transport guests to a movie-themed Halloween experience.

Making it bigger and better, guests will start their journey with a wander through The Undead Forest characterized into the Asian and Western zone. Over 20 scare crews will be lurking around to give guests a run for their lives. Scream inducing sights at the Singapore Flyer include:

 • FrightFest: With characters from famed horror shows such as The Maid, The Walking Dead, Stephen King’s IT and Friday the 13th in The Undead Forest
 • Halloween Carnival & Flea
 • Waterfront Party zone
 • Kids Corner (For children or the faint hearted)
All is not lost as panoramic views on board the 165-metre tall Singapore Flyer flights will calm your racing hearts. But don’t say we didn’t warn, be ready to confront your fears once you return to ground.
“We are very excited to work with Singapore Polytechnic to present the city’s biggest Halloween event. With this collaboration, we are glad it gave the students an opportunity to be creative, put what they have learnt in school to play, as they train up to be the future of Singapore. FrightFest 2012 @ Singapore Flyer is one of our signature yearly events that extend beyond our scenic flights, further branding the Flyer as an iconic lifestyle destination.” --- Jeff Tan, Singapore Flyer’s Senior Director of Sales and Marketing

So, for Halloween, I have been stressing over what to appear in and Googled a look that was shown during the M.A.C.'s Halloween Face Off with Snooki. 2 makeup artists came up with this look, where the model closed her eyes and she looked like she had no pupil at all. I decided to take up the challenge and tried to replica that look. Click here to see my "transformation" process....

FrightFest 2012 begins to haunt on 12 – 14, 19 – 21 and 26 – 28 October 2012. Choose between the FrightFest Value Pack, which will send shivers down your spine at The Undead Forest, then a respiteful flight up the Flyer. For the strong-hearted, go all out with just admission to The Undead Forest. Early bird prices start from $18. Responding to last year’s requests, group bookings and child prices will be available across the 3 Halloween weekends. Guests can come decked out in their favourite Halloween costumes and be singled out to win attractive prizes.

The meek and the young are welcomed to join in FrightFest 2012 celebrations with special fringe events, such as, the Halloween Carnival & Flea, Waterfront Party zone and a Kids Corner – which  will host activities fit for kids and their families to enjoy.
