Guess Who's Hosting The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards ?

The most anticipated music awards show - "MTV Video Music Awards" will be making its way back this August. Every year I'm peeled to the TV watching if my favourite singer/s or bands get awarded, who is best dressed, the best performance and start the whole tweeting process throguhout the day.

This year, it will not be different and I'm even more excited coz one of my favourite female superstar - Katy Perry will be hosting the show live from "Fabulous" Forum in Inglewood, California! I can't wait to see her performance, the clothes changes she will have through the night and also keep and eye out for her makeup looks and try to replicate it. =)

YES!!!! I'm a huge fan of this colourful, always changing and evolving singer!

In advance of the world tour for her most recent, chart-topping album, Witness, Perry will light up the stage as the first performer announced for this year’s show.  She has already secured a spot as one of the top nominees for the 2017 VMAs with nods in five categories, including: Best Pop, Best Direction and Best Visual Effects for “Chained to the Rhythm,” Best Art Direction for “Bon Appetit,” and Best Collaboration for Calvin Harris’ “Feels” featuring Pharrell Williams, Perry and Big Sean. Woohoo! Hope she wins big!

MTV has already announced the nominations for the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards” exclusively on Instagram Live, with Kendrick Lamar scoring the most of the year with eight nominations for his video “HUMBLE”. Katy Perry and The Weeknd are tied for five nominations each.  Building on the critical acclaim of the non-gendered categories at the 2017 “MTV Movie & TV Awards,” the network also announced the former “Best Female Video” and “Best Male Video” categories have been combined for “Artist of the Year.”  Additionally, “Best Fight Against the System” has been added to celebrate videos that inspire viewers to stand up and fight injustice.  

If you want your favourites to win, you can start voting for them by visiting www.vma.mtv.com. Additionally, voting for the "Best New Artist" award, presented by Taco Bell®, will remain live through the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards” Pre-Show airing at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT. The top two artists will be revealed during the pre-show, kicking off a live Twitter hashtag vote with the winner being announced during the live main telecast. Nominees for the socially voted category, “Best Song of Summer,” will be announced at a later date. 

So, get clicking with your votes and mark your calendar for The 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards”. It will air live on Sunday, August 27 AT 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.  

In Asia, the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards" will premiere live on MTV Asia on Monday, August 28 at 7:00 a.m. (WIB) and 8:00 a.m. (MY/SG/PH).

Dance To The Beat With Season 2 Of MTV’S OK DANCEOKE

Hi Huneybees,

Do you dance The Whoosh or The Lookie? Do you know what's The Body Wave? Well, if you wana pick up some new dance moves, don't miss the music video dance tutorial programme - Ok Danceoke.

Returning for a second season this June, Ok Danceoke Season 2  breaks down the dance routine in the music videos and show you how to master the signature moves like a pro. You can start dancing like a pro from music genres ranging from K-Pop, to Top 40s, to House.

There will be songs like ‘Knock Knock’ by TWICE, ‘That’s What I Like’ by Bruno Mars, and ‘Solo Dance’ by Martin Jensen; broken into easy-to-follow steps so that you can perfect your groove without constantly hitting the replay button on the player. 

Ok Danceoke Season 2 premieres on MTV Asia on 6 June, Tuesday at 8pm (WIB), 9pm (SG/PH) and 10pm (MY), with each episode made up of six music videos. The next day, from 7 June, one selected video will appear online every Wednesday for nine weeks. 

Shot and produced in Singapore, production for the show began in early-May. Season 2 also sees an expanded dance instructor mix – with the additions of Felicia Cher, specialising in K-Pop and Street Jazz; and the Scrach Marcs team of Rachel Lee and Marcus Tan, winners of The Dance Floor Season 2 competition and the Singapore Dance Delight Volume 6. Meanwhile, instructors Mohammad Alif (a.k.a. Alif Aircho) from Danz People, and Chloe Jong from Limited Edition, return this second season.

This season also extends the MTV Asia and Musical.ly partnership from Season 1, and challenges musers to perform dance moves from excerpts of Ok Danceoke Season 2 music videos. The top 50 videos, judged on their popularity and the accuracy of the dance, will be incorporated into ongoing promotions for Ok Danceoke Season 2.

Let's Celebrate Youth This Weekend At Orchard Road!

The 10th annual SHINE Festival is here again and Huney'Z World is privileged to be supporting them all these years and back this year to introduce you to some of the featured acts. We were at their media conference yesterday and here's why you should be down to celebrate Youths this weekend too! =)

The people behind SHINE 2015 - Samuel and Edward

Themed “Build Your World” this year, it will be a three-days festival held along Orchard Road, from 10 till 12 July. This serves to encourage youth to explore and pursue individual interests as well as encourage youth through collaborations and global outreach. 

An exciting line-up of artistes from the local music, dance, sports, athletics, arts and pop culture scenes awaits, with appearances from David Choi, Arden Cho (YES! The new female Korean-American actress introduced in MTV's Teen Wolf to play the Kitsune, Kira Yukimura), Charlie Lim, JRODTwins and many more.

Are you guilty of cycling through channels , looking for something interested / exciting to watch?
That period of feeling bored in front of TV will soon be gone as Comedy Central Asia will be launching entertaining variety show Lip Sync Battle in the month of July.

Lip Sync Battle is a social media sensation programme that is based on the pop culture phenomenon of lip sync battling. This Viacom original series, which originated on Viacom’s Spike TV in the U.S., features celebrities going head to head – lip-syncing the song of their choice – battling for the coolest bragging rights on the planet. It's like my Dubsmash moment going on TV! :X

It's gona be sensational match up battles and I think some of the interesting, not-to-be-missed ones have to be the Jimmy Fallon vs. Dwayne Johnson, Anna Kendrick vs. John Krasinski, and Anne Hathaway vs. Emily Blunt battles! Lip Sync Battle is premiering in Asia on Comedy Central on weekdays starting Tuesday, 28 July at 7.30pm (TH/WIB), 8.30pm (HK/PH/SG/TW) and 9.30pm (MY).

Meantime, back for the second season is the online singing competition Project Aloft Star.  
This music talent discovery competition, by MTV Asia,  reaches out to singer-songwriters from Singapore and Asia to submit their original music video compositions and the winner gets US$10,000 and a chance to be featured on MTV.

2011 MTV EMA: LADY GAGA

The 2014 MTV EMA will air across MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels reaching nearly 700 million households around the world as well as through syndication. 11th Girl Twist On All New Season Of MTV’s Hit Matchmaking Series "Are You The One?"

“If your perfect match was standing right in front of you, would you even know it?”  

It's was fun to watching MTV’s hit matchmaking experiment, “Are You The One?”.  I get to make the matches and each week, I would check in to see if I got the answer right as the plot develops and this season the show is returning with a special twist.... 

The show will follow a group of 10 single women and 10 single men (who are self-admittedly horrible at relationships) jet off to Puerto Rico in the hopes of leaving their bad relationship habits behind and surrender to their perfect match.

Prior to arrival, the singles will undergo a rigorous matchmaking process involving in-depth interviews and compatibility testing, using a team of professional matchmakers, psychologists, and the contestants’ family, friends, and exes. An ideal match for each person will be selected – the catch is that the results are not revealed. The singles will begin their quest to find their perfect match in the house. If the entire group succeeds in finding their matches during the season, they’ll walk away not only with love, but their share of one million dollars. All 10 couples must match, or they’ll all go home without the cash!

Adding to the drama this season is a twist that will make finding the perfect match more challenging, as an eleventh girl will join the house as a double match for one of the guys. It’s a “race to the relationship,” as our eleventh girl will be immediately eliminated from the game if she fails to find her perfect match before her female counterpart matches with her man. The “eleventh girl twist” is sure to keep the house and fans guessing as love triangles, partnering possibilities and co-ed drama abound. How well can they play the game when their hearts are on the line?

This season’s cast has a tough act to follow, as last season’s group went “10 for 10” and all correctly paired up with their perfect matches. The show’s matchmaking formula proved to be on point as fan favourite Ethan Diamond proposed to his perfect match, Amber Lee, during the reunion show earlier this year, and now the couple is expecting their first child in December. Ethan, Amber and the entire first season cast will return for a one-hour baby shower/reunion special on Sunday, 5 October at 7.30pm (WIB), 8.30pm (SG) and 9.30pm (MAL) and Saturday, 11 October at 10pm (TH) as a lead up to the second season premiere. In addition, viewers can catch season one recaps of the episode where Amber and Ethan first met, the finale episode and the reunion episode where Ethan proposed to Amber on Sunday, 28 September at 7.30pm (WIB), 8.30pm (SG) and 9.30pm (MAL).

[Updated] AHHHH!!! I Caught Hearthrob From Down Under - Guy Sebastian LIVE!!!

Hi Huneybees,

July kicked off to a great start for me with a LIVE performance by Guy Sebastian. I was super upclose to him and he even smiled at me! He has an amazing vocal and with his cheeky charisma, he melted all our hearts, mine included...

Well, all thanks to MTV, I was at the MTV Sessions: GUY SEBASTIAN recording and this amazing singer-songwriter from down under Australia delivered a one-hour set in his first performance in Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa’s state-of-the-art Waterfront Studio.

He performed hit after hit, showcasing his talent on the keyboard and guitar. I must say, the climax was when he performed the all time favourite "Angels Brought Me Here", which got his fans on high, singing along to it. He also performed his latest single “Like a Drum” from his soon-to-be released album to familiar songs like “Battle Scars,” “Who’s That Girl,” “Get Along,” “Like It Like That,” and “Don’t Worry Be Happy”.

The evening ended with a surprise encore of  a bonus duet for the audience with his back-up singer Carmen Smith for “Art of Love”. You have got to catch this when MTV Sessions: Guy Sebastian premieres on MTV Asia on Friday, 18 July at 9pm (WIB), 10pm (SG/HK) and 11pm (MAL). Try spotting the green-haired queen bee amongst the audience! =)
