Making A Bee-Way Into Sentosa!

Today is the start of a Hari Raya Puasa long weekend for all residents of Singapore and if you would like to spend sometime in Sentosa with your friends and/or family over the weekend, why don't you consider entering the resort island through a different experience?

With the operation of the new Sentosa Line,  Huneybees could now soar in style, on board the Singapore Cable Car, from the existing Mount Faber cable car line at Harbourfront to the western tip of the resort island!

  

Launch of the New Singapore Cable Car Sky Network by Mr Iswaran

Launched by Mr Iswaran, Singapore's Minister (Prime Minister’s Office) and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry on 14th July 2015, three new cable car stations – the Merlion, Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Point – servicing the new Sentosa Line together with the existing Mount Faber cable car line form the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network.

Huneybees riding on this new line can conveniently make their bee-way between the island’s many attractions such as the Underwater World Singapore and Fort Siloso, while enjoying exceptional views, at 100 metres above the sea, over Sentosa’s tree canopy and Siloso Beach.

With no increase from the current price of $29, all overseas Huneybees will enjoy double the value with the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network while Singaporeans and local residents will now enjoy almost 40 per cent in savings until end of the year.

Best of all, as part of Sentosa’s SG50 celebrations, Singaporeans and local residents will get to ride on the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network for FREE from 9am to 9pm on 10 August. In addition, they will also get to enjoy free entry to The Sentosa Merlion attraction and The Wings of Time show during the Golden Jubilee Weekend.

Mother’s Day Promotion at The Boxing Crab

Mother's Day is just round the corner and I would love to introduce you to a hidden "treasure" where you can find good food and enjoy the sea breeze - The Boxing Crab.

Located right behind Underwater World in Sentosa, this restaurant offers a variety of chinese cuisine and I must say the most sought after is their crabs. What's the best plan for Mother's Day?

A day trip to Sentosa, last attraction with looking at the beautiful fishes at Underwater World and then head to the back for dinner, watching the sunset along the beach, whilst enjoying some good food and great family bonding time...

So, this is the menu that The Boxing Crab have installed for Mother's Day. It is available at $328++ for 4 people from now till 12 May 2013. Portions shown in this post were for 10 diners.

Deep Fried Spiny Lobster Salad

"2 beautiful lobsters stand before me, but only one will make it into my stomach"...  *ANTM overdose*

The lobster flesh is coated in salad cream and the fresh firm meat was very inviting and amazing to tickle our palettes to what's to come up... 

Braised Treasure Chicken in Lotus Leaf

The braised chicken does not have the best seller's look, but it's a chockful of taste and it was my hubby's favourite dish out of the menu. The chicken is tender and the sauce is "soaked" in flavours from the chestnut and mushrooms with the faint fragrance of the lotus leaf. It goes very well with plain rice.

Homemade Water Chestnut Bean Curd with Spiced Meat

A homely dish that almost all mothers can cook. The slightly browned crust of the bean curd and soft inside is definitely a dish that is suitable for kids and elders. Loving the taste of stewed minced pork sauce that is a divine sauce to go with the rice.

Stir Fried Scallop & Prawn with Asparagus

A little letdown for this dish. Looking at how fresh the ingredients are, with the fanciful bird-nest like basket,  I would thought it to be full of the "Wok Hei". However, it's a very light dish, healthy choice, but it could have done better with a pinch of salt.

Braised Chili Crab wrapped in Lotus Leaf served with Deep Fried Bun

Our local delight, Chilli Crab with a twist. Wrapped in lotus leaf, the dish is more fragrant than those that we eat usually. Not my favourite dish, as it was not spicy enough. The crab comes with Deep Fried Bun for you to dip in the chilli sauce too!

Braised Claypot Crab with Superior Broth & Pumpkin

The Boxing Crab’s signature dish that is featured on the other set menu is a hot favourite. (Be sure to call before heading over to the restaurant to check availability). The golden sauce is derived from the pumpkin purée and salted egg yolk and a touch of mild curry spiciness.

Hubby just love both the crab dishes...

I prefer this pumpkin crab compared to the chilli crab, I simply couldn't stop dipping for more sauce . However, be mindful of the cholesterol you are piling on...

Stir Fried Vermicelli with Seafood

The stir fried vermicelli was a tad too bland, especially after having the crab, the vermicelli seemed to bring you back down to earth after touching heaven. Nice selling look but would definitely benefit from a little extra salt or soy sauce.

Red Bean Soup with Coconut & Lotus Seed

I am not a fan of red bean, so I only had a sip of the soup. It's not too sweet and both hubby and I agree that  the health conscious mothers or grandmothers would definitely love it.
