Aerosmith Rocked Gardens By The Bay @ The Singapore Social Concert

Here's Day 2 of the Singapore Social Concert. Aerosmith rocked Gardens By The Bay on Saturday night with 1.5 hours of waiting. Alot of us went around looking for plastic bags to sit on the grass field. 2 bands preceded them with almost full-length concerts of their own - Gugun Blues Shelter from Indonesia performed for 45 minutes, after which Euphoria Audio from Britain took the stage for an hour. Even though it was amazing live performance, it was a really crazy wait.

I was looking through the Twitter-sphere, PSY was taking photos with Steven Tyler, Hikakin getting all psyched up backstage, etc, but why why are they still not appearing?! Die hard Aerosmith fans like me, just hung around in the sweltering heat to only get to hear the band at 9.40pm for a schedules 8pm concert...

So, anyway, I was there at the concert, just that there were strict rules with regards to posting photos and videos, so instead of showing you the photos that I took, these are the official photos given by the organiser.

The center stage was extended, the "Toxic Twins"- Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, emerged right before our eyes through the smokes, decked in their usual Rock style attire and scarfs on Steven's mic stand, they launched straight into their 1989 hit - "Love In An Elevator". With the strategically placed fans on the stage floor, the Toxic Twins made full use of the stage, getting their hair and clothes blowing for amazing photo effects.

The band went on to perform hit after hit from their 43 year history, songs like  "Jaded" & "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" got the 10,500 fans on high mode, whilst Steven Tyler repeatedly tried to break all the windows at Marina Bay Sands with his octave high pitch distinctive raspy voice.

 

Joe Perry also tore through bluesy solos on his axe, and towards the end of the main set, got the speaker sup in smoke with his legendary magic fingers. He even walked down the center stage playing his guitar backwards!

Aerosmith ended their main set with an electrifying performance of "Walk This Way" with YouTube stars: Japanese beatboxer Hikakin and hip-hop dancer Marquese Scott in replace of their popular version in 1980s with therap group Run DMC.

For the band's encore, Steven Tyler performed 'Dream On" on a white baby grand piano and then jets of white smoke shot up to engulf him and Perry during the last song of the night, "Sweet Emotion".

This also wraps up the weekend of Social Media celebration in Singapore. Definitely looking forward to next year's (hopefully in Singapore too!)

Funfilled Night @ The Singapore Social Concert With Blush, Carly Rae Jepson, PSY and Cee Lo Green

I'm still recovering from the Singapore Social Concert. I was there for 2 days and I literally screamed my voice away! With so many stars performing just inches away from me, it's a miracle I did not faint!

Blush - The sexy all asian girl band kickstarted the concert

The hot-cha All Asian girl band - Blush heated up the stage, getting the audiences all raved up with their sexy dance moves and skin-tight S&M inspired clothings. I know guys were drooling and bet some girls were dying to "kill" them, but I must say, they have amazing vocals and definitely a "climax" right from the start!

Blush is a pop music girl group composed of five members - Angeli Flores (Philippines), Alisha Budrani (India), Ji Hae Lee (Korea), Natsuko Danjo (Japan) and Victoria Chan (China). They were formed by FarWest Entertainment in 2010 with the intent of popularizing an Asian vocal act in the United States as well as in all of Asia. 

Carly Rae Jepson - The songstress was all about LOVE!

Next up was Carly Rae ‘Jeppo’ Jepson. Displaying her lovable girl-next-door look and voice, she was all bubbly, dancing around the stage, engaging the audience in every song. Her sweetness was making me forget the heat and got me dancing and singing to her songs like "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" & "Curiosity", tying her songs together with a little bit of story telling.

Jeppo then got the audience to look to the full moon and performed "Your Heart Is a Muscle", getting us to "light up" our mobile phones and sway along with it.

She also performed "Take A Picture", the song that was song was written as part of Coca-Cola’s campaign. It was definitely her song, totally her genre. Hmmm, actually, where's my coke?

The closing song was non other than "Call Me Maybe" which all the audience around me have been asking her to sing for that hour. Come on, save the best for last man!

PSY - Famous yet humble was his thing

The crowd was roaring in screams when PSY came out to the stage. His wonderful command of English blew me away again and he was so so humble. He was thankful for everyone's support and one thing he said made everyone appreciate his years' of hard work even more --- "I'm amazed. You know or speak Korean, but you all sang and danced to my songs, happily. That’s the beauty of music and how it can (and should) transcend all language barriers."

He only performed 4 songs - "Champion", "It’s Art (예술이야)", "Gentleman" & "Gangnam Style", which was like teasing us and not giving more. But I must say, the 4 songs was enough to bring the house down! Everyone danced and tried to sing along with him. It was a full workout the whole time he was on stage.

PSY ending his performance with his world renowned "Gangnam Style" with his hot Korean dancers should have ended with some fireworks to celebrate the moment! He also mentioned that he will be debuting his album in September, so let's see what phenomenon he have up his sleeves....

Cee Lo Green - Vote him for Singapore's president?

Stunning us with his crystal embellished robe, Cee Lo Green proved his "The Voice" worthy performance! His voice was the power station, stunning us with numerous songs of his, including "Don't Cha" which he wrote for the Pussycat Dolls. 

Singapore also proved to be too "hot" for him, when he disrobed and flashed his tummy at us. He was all about sexiness, there was a certain amount of the F word, but WTH, that's who he is right?

He has got to be my favourite singer out of the 4 performers, he sang live as though we were listening to his album, he engaged the crowd and he even asked us to vote for him as president. It was a joke, but that was an interesting thought ya?

Ending his performance with "Fuck You" a chart topping song, everyone sang and danced along. Yes, Singaporeans need to "release" all their pent up stress, so why not just a few shouts of the F word?

A big shout out to Starcount for bringing the stars in for the amazing night.

Do hope they can do this in Singapore again next year!

Hi Huneybees,

I am still burning with excitement from the Singapore Social Concert! Carly Rae Jepson performed "Call Me Maybe", PSY did his "horse dance" right before me and CeeLo Green sang "F* you!"
