[Updated] Heroes Gather At Vivocity For Ultimate The Avengers Experience!

Avengers, Assemble! 

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is releasing on 23^rd April 2015 and I know you guys cannot contain all the excitement like me! I'm counting down to the day I can catch the movie in theatres, but if you are huge fans like me, you have got to head on down to Vivocity, Singapore, from 15 April to 3 May!

Bring all your superheroes buddy along and get immersed in the unique Universe of Marvel’s The Avengers Experience. I went down this week to fully immerse into the Avengers experience. Families and friends have gathered, crowd after crowd, it took me awhile to check out every station. Here's more of that day...

[Movie Review] Catch Bombshells Sofia Vergara and Scarlett Johansson in CHEF

Chef is a light-hearted movie about a chef, Carl Casper played by Jon Favreau (Who's also the Writer and Director of the movie), who lost his restaurant job in Los Angeles and then returned to started up a food truck in Miami in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.

Other than being a mini Iron Man reunion, bombshells Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara heats up the movie screen.

The movie rides on the food truck craze in the States and with the strong cast list (Jon Favreau, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Downey Jr., John Leguizamo, as well as the sexy CoverGirl - Sofía Vergara) , you are in for a "treat".

Well, it all started with a food review by the renowned food critic Ramsey Michel, played by Oilver Platt, which went horribly wrong because of its restaurant owner, Riva played by Dustin Hoffman, insistence of serving the “proven” menu which lacks the creativity that Ramsey was looking for.

While the movie did make the audience hungry during Carl’s detailed food preparation scenes, it was Social Media that took the central stage in this movie. It showcased the power of Social Media – from Twitter, Youtube, Facebook to Vine - and we could all take a note or two from the movie on how it could be navigated to our advantage (and also disadvantage).

In Carl’s case, it was Twitter that first got him into trouble because he assumed that he was sending a “private message” to rap at Ramsey for the humiliation that he felt from Ramsy’s review and then later when he twitted out to Ramsey to an open challenge in an attempt to redeem his sore pride, which he never able to deliver after been fired by Riva.

Just as the audience thought it was bad enough, Carl’s loss of cool later at the restaurant was captured by many and went viral online (Youtube) that essentially sealed his Chef career. His return to reclaim his creative promise by running a food truck (named EL JEFE) was much to the credit of his son, Percy played by Emjay Anthony, who not only helped him as a line chef but more importantly his social media CEO, using platforms like Twitter and Facebook to update the public on the development of EL JEFE across the country.

It was after watching the Vine video of the entire journey of the food truck compiled by his son that marked the starting of Carl’s reversed relationship with his son and his ex-wife, Inez played by Sofia Vergara.
The ending of the movie was a fairy tale with Carl and Ramsey buried their quarrel and becoming partners of the EL JEFE restaurant and what seems to be a re-marriage of Carl and Inez.

Overall the movie was very entertaining but for fans of Scarlett Johansson who played Molly, the hostess at Riva’s restaurant, you will be disappointed as there were not much acting scenes of the Black Widow (although she did wore a low-cut black dress in one of those scenes) and all happened during the first part of the movie!

Chef opens in cinemas 5 June 2014, be sure to catch it while it's hot! ;P

Black Widow & Va Va Voom Scarlett Johansson

As the Marvel's The Avengers movie draws near to its screening day, I'm getting more and more excited. Not only is it opening on Labours' Day, it is also one of the most anticipated movie of the year. During the past couple of years, there's been movies and little snippets about The Avengers' superhero and how they were recruited into the team.

 

One character that always stood out amongst the macho male heroes, was definitely the super sleek spy, Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson. Being a lady myself, it's always a feel good moment when it comes to Girl Power! Black Widow is always seen in a black tight jumpsuit and super red hair, she does not really on gadgets to fight her way out.

Simply with her Arcrobatic and Athletic Skills, as well as her seduction skills, she could easily lure men and defeat them with real skills. In Chinese, "平实力" is what I would describe her.

Moreover, the superhero is played by the sexy and volumptous Scarlett Johansson, who can resist right?

[Movie Review] Fright Night

Other than being at different events these few days, I was also at some movie premieres. Today, I wana talk about Fright Night! I know it's been on screen for awhile, but I know some of you have yet to watch. You can read about the synopsis and watch the trailer here.

I was there at the movie mainly for Colin Farrell. WHAT A HOTTIE! Been loving him since the day he acted as Bullseye in The Daredevil movie. And this time round, he is acting as a vampire! Immediately Edward Cullen came into my mind!

I would call this movie a thriller with little gore, there are times that got me jumping off my seat, screaming "WTF!", but mostly were predictable. Not sure is it because I've watched so many this kind of movie, I was in fact, laughing and smiling more, than getting afraid.

Why laugh? Coz there were cheesy times, and there was also times when Mirai (who sat next to me) was covering her eyes and that got me tickled pink. So guys, get the hint, bring a girl to the movie!

I wouldn't say the movie's got the best plot. Come on, hottie moves into your neighbour-hood, looking pale and devilish, wouldn't you realize something if wrong?

However, there are some concepts that was fresh, like the whole vampire image. I was going to the movies thinking that it's the same coloured contacts and 2 side fangs for the whole vampire look, but this movie proved not so. Don't go thinking all vampires are Twilight-ly pretty, vampires are still monsters afterall!

In fact, the picture I did using the FB app, would be a close image of what the vampires look like in the movie.

Ok! Enough of the ugliness. One other thing I was loving, was definitely the radiance of the female lead, Imogen Poots. She reminded me of Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson and Dakota Fanning.

Imogen Gay Poots (born 5 June 1989) is an English actress, best known for playing Tammy in the 2007 film 28 Weeks Later, Prue Sorenson in the 2010 remake of the controversial TV drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire and as Jean Ross in the BBC's Christopher and His Kind.

She was born in Hammersmith, London, England, the daughter of Fiona (née Goodall) and Trevor Poots, a TV producer. She attended the independent and selective Bute House Preparatory School for Girls in Brook Green, Queen's Gate School for Girls and London's Latymer Upper School, where she attained 3 A grades at A-Level.  (Ain't she a clever girl?!) She is a member of theYoung Blood Theatre Company.

She works as a model for Select Model Management and her first movie credit was as Young Valerie in the 2006 film V for Vendatta. Poots has also appeared in 2004 episode of Casualty, in Matt Day's short film, Wish and in the 2007 TV movie Miss Austen Regrets.

I would rate the movie a 3 out of 5 popcorns, given the fact that there are so much eye candy.

Guys who are trying to impress a girl, been trying to grab a hug, act hero, do bring your girls to this movie!
