Who Are You Rooting To Win Asia's Got Talent Season 2?

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Since following both the original version - Amercia's Got Talent - since 2006 and the Asia edition since its inaugural, I am still amazed by every new episode of what people can do with their bodies with mind and soul putting together.

Having said that, the exciting AXN's Asia's Got Talent Season 2 is coming to an end with the Results Show to be scheduled to be aired on 14th December, Thursdays, at 8.30PM SIN/HKG/MAL/PH | 7.30PM JKT/BKK time.

Personally I was a bit let down by the overall Grand Finalists' performance of Asia's Got Talent Season 2 as I was expecting more after watching those amazing acts in the Semi-Finals.

With so much hype and higher expectation of her creepy magic tricks from her performances leading to the Grand Final, the Zombie-Illusion box trick by The Sacred Riana was a kinda a disappointment as she "recycled" her double used during her Semi-Finals act.
Same goes for her fellow Indonesian Angela July whose elaborate white "snow fox" grown saved her grace from her weak -off peak- cover of Adele's "Skyfall" as well as ADEM Dance Crew from Kyrgyzstan where I was expecting to see more body twisting moves from all four performers but in the end only got to see one quarter (1/4) of the team performing two-third (2/3) of the team's act.

However, among the Grand Finalists of Asia's Got Talent Season 2, I was impressed by the team dance performance from the Philippines - Urban Crew for its heart pumping Ninja style street dance and DM-X Comvalenoz for its crazy feminine yet amazing back flipping acts.

Personally I am rooting for Canion Shjirbat from Mongolia to win as I have been won over of his synchronized digital visual arts, dance move and magic tricks all-in-one act, which I found was flawless.

Anyway may the best and not the most popular talent win!

Do You Have The GUTZ For Another Season Of The Gutierrez?

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Philippines' most prolific clan is back with Season 2 of It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez. It is set to be bigger and better with a brand new season of their very own reality series.  Follow former matinee heartthrob Eddie Gutierrez and beauty queen Annabelle, and their three children as they go about their fascinating every day lives...

This season, Annabelle re-visits her roots and returns to the orphanage she grew up in while Raymond looks forward to a career in fashion when he sets off for London. But uncertainty hangs in the air, with Ruffa’s mystery male friend; is he the one that Ruffa has been looking for, or is he just a platonic friend?
That's me with the Gutierrez brothers when they came down to Singapore in May.
Meanwhile, with Richard’s Ducati fiasco in Italy and a new baby, there are plenty of questions left unanswered after season 1? Is baby Zion really a Gutierrez? How did Richard and Sarah manage to shield him from the public eye for so long? What happens to Raymond in London? Is Ruffa finally dating someone new? This season, you'd definitely need your Gutz to take it all.
As part of E!’s continued commitment to shine the spotlight on local Asian personalities and celebrities, this season will continue to follow the Gutierrez family - Eddie, Annabelle, Ruffa, Raymond and Richard - as they give audiences an unfiltered look at their incredible personal and professional lives.
For the latest updates on the Gutierrez, you can follow them at:
Raymond Gutierrez, http://instagram.com/mondgutierrez

Richard Gutierrez, http://instagram.com/richardgutz

Ruffa Gutierrez, http://instagram.com/iloveruffag

Sarah Lahbati, http://instagram.com/sarahlahbati

Zion, http://instagram.com/babyziontheyounglion

The Gutierrez are loud, proud and they’re showbiz royalty. It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez airs every Sunday, 9pm exclusively on E! (StarHub Cable TV Channel 441).

One of the Philippines’ most adored and talked about showbiz families – The Gutierrez – will be moving into their new home on E! from Sunday 1 June 2014 at 9pm (SG) with the sizzling six-episode reality series It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez.

As the global destination for ‘Pop of Culture’ and the renowned leader in entertainment news, the series marks E!’s first foray into original Asian reality programming and continued commitment to shine the spotlight on local Asian personalities and celebrities.
“As the home of the most topical pop culture buzz on celebrities, daily entertainment news and live red carpet coverage, E! is the perfect fit for a no-holds-barred series on the Gutierrez Family. We are delighted that they are opening up their lives and that we are able to bring this locally relevant content to our E! audience in the Philippines.” --- Christine Fellowes, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Universal Networks International

Produced by Philippine media powerhouse One Mega Group’s TV100, the series gives viewers an unfiltered access into the dramatic lives of this one-of-a-kind family – power couple Eddie and Annabelle and their children, former beauty queen Ruffa, fashionista Raymond and screen superstar Richard – as they show South East Asia just how much It Takes GUTZ To Be A Gutierrez.
“This is what I call a "Dream Project." First of all, we're making entertainment history. "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez" is the first of its kind in the Philippines and in Asia. Second, I've been a fan of both E!, since I worked in Hollywood, and the Gutierrez Family, since I'm a fan of Philippine Showbiz. For One Mega Group and TV100 to be part of this exciting new show is definitely a dream come true. This is a match made in red carpet heaven!” --- Michael Carandang, Business Unit Head of One Mega Group’s TV100

Asian Couture Night At FIDé Fashion Weeks 2013

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Before Guo Pei was presented that night at FIDé Fashion Weeks, we saw the incredible works of 3 Asian designers - Michael Cinco from Philippines and Vatit Itthi from Thailand. Both designers showcased incredible pieces of art.

Michael Cinco, a Philippines couturier based in Dubai for the last 15 years, is highly sought after by celebrities like Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Sofia Vergara, Brandy, Britney Spears, Fergie, J Lo, Ciara, and Chris Brown.

He reinterpreted the Spanish Flamenco dress in his own magic. Not only were there smart suits for the men (like the suave-y bull fighters), the gowns were exceptionally breath taking, with the romantic music in the background, each piece of work was telling its own stories...

The collection was separated by three key colours – skin nude, lipstick red and gothic black. Where each colour comes with a breath-taking gown in sheer silk tulles, French laces and heavily beaded and crystallised. Every piece comes with intricate details, his workmanship and finishing is second to none. There's no loose threads, no unfinished seams. Simply the work of  a genius!

The highlight had to be the black and maroon gown with a cascading multi-tiered train. 200-metres of tulle were embroidered at the hems and took five helpers to carry it from the changing room to the back of the stage.

Next to take centre stage was the Thai duo of Vatit Virashpanth and Itthi Metanee, known under the label Vatit Itthi. They started the line in 2002 in Chicago, before relocating back to Bangkok to carry on their line of red-carpet gowns.

Fresh from Bangkok’s Elle Fashion Week, the collection was about an “old school, new world” attitude. Adapting ‘old’ silhouettes from around and after WW2, the duo used draping, sheer overlays and embellishments of handmade delicate silk flowers and strategic beadwork to highlight the 29 ensembles of simple and classic lines.

It was definitely a I-feel-proud-to-be-Asian moment that night. We have changed so much over the years and I must say we are definitely on par with the internationally acclaimed brands out there.

Sorry, I didn't catch Jeannie at her best moment...
Before I go, I'm gona post a couple of photos of Jeannie Mai interviewing Vatit Virashpanth and Itthi Metanee backstage after their runway show. They were so humble and friendly, good job guys!
