Aspiring singers and bands looking to make a breakthrough in Singapore will be happy to know that the Strepsils "The Right Note" Singing Competition is back for another run, along with a host of new prizes (worth over $25,000), partners and opportunities!
“The Right Note” singing competition is held nationwide to celebrate World Voice Day 2015, supporting the goals and dreams of budding singers looking to inspire with their vocals, and growing their confidence in the process.
The singing competition was launched yesterday at the Barber Shop by Timbre and brand ambassador - Olivia Ong performed a single from her repertoire “You and Me” during the event, serenading us with a piece of sunshine whilst it was pouring outside.
Just like the Strepsils Throat Lozenges, they soothes my sore throat everytime it feels dry. My favourite has got to be the Honey & Lemon one, soothing and enhanced with Vitamin C! Hehehe... that's also what Olivia recommends alongside her delicate care for her lovely voice.
Ok, so back to the Strepsils "The Right Note" singing competition. This year, not only individual singers are encouraged to join the competition, the search for the ultimate music act will also be open to bands (up to a maximum of five members).
The competition had seen over 600 entries and over 50,000 views of the contestant videos in the span of a month at last year's inaugural launch of “The Right Note” singing competition. Contestants can look forward to a plethora of valuable prizes worth over $25,000, including cash prizes totaling up to $7,000, attractive prize packages from K BOX Entertainment Group worth $3,000 as well as a 3 month residency stint with popular live music bar - Switch by Timbre. All finalists will also receive the chance to perform at the finals with Olivia Ong and display their talents at a specially arranged showcase at Timbre.
To participate in “The Right Note” singing competition, contestants will have to record and upload their entries via the competition’s microsite from today till 16 May 2015 at www.strepsils.com.sg/therightnote to vie for the top five finalist spots. The top five finalists will be determined by a combination of votes from the judges and the public, and finalists will be announced after the call for submissions end.

During the competition’s run in April and May leading up to the finals, members of the public can look forward to Strepsils-themed nights at Timbre’s live music venues, with curated interactive content on top of the nightly live performances.
And for the finalists, they can expect to be exposed to a host of exclusive and enriching musical line-ups including vocal training sessions by Timbre Music Academy as well!
