Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Launches in Singapore: Can AI Make Laundry Easier?

Hi Huneybees,

Bespoke AI Washer Dryer EcoBubble™ 21kg + 11kg (WD90F21BCSSP) is now available in Singapore

Laundry is probably never going to be anyone’s favourite household chore, but if AI can take care of some of the thinking for us, I’m listening.

Samsung has introduced its latest Bespoke AI Laundry Combo in Singapore, bringing more of its AI-powered features into something most of us use every week: the washing machine.

Rather than simply adding more wash programmes, the new models use sensors, AI and Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem to help decide how clothes should be washed, how much detergent is needed and even how energy consumption can be better managed.

And for busy households, that could mean spending a little less time figuring out which setting to use every time the laundry basket fills up.

---

AI That Pays Attention to What You’re Washing

One of the main upgrades is AI Wash+, which can detect the weight of a load as well as five different fabric types.

The system now recognises Outdoor and Denim fabrics, expanding the range of materials it can identify. Using multiple sensors, it determines the load and fabric type before automatically dispensing an appropriate amount of water and detergent.

It also monitors soil levels during the wash. If your clothes need a little more attention, the machine can adjust the amount of detergent and washing time accordingly. Essentially, instead of expecting us to make all those little laundry decisions ourselves, the machine does more of the adjusting in the background.

There’s also Flex Auto Dispense, which can be configured to hold two different detergents or used for additional detergent capacity. According to Samsung, it can store enough detergent and fabric softener for up to 12 loads, or enough detergent alone for up to 30 loads.

That could be particularly handy if you’re the type who keeps forgetting to top up the detergent until you’ve already started loading the machine.

---

A 7-Inch Screen Puts Everything in One Place

Another noticeable addition is the 7-inch AI Home Smart Screen. Instead of navigating traditional buttons and dials, the LCD touchscreen acts as the main control centre for the washer-dryer. It gives you access to cycles and settings while learning from your usage habits to suggest frequently used programmes.

Once a wash is completed, you can also check laundry reports through the SmartThings app, including information on water and energy consumption.

Samsung has also integrated its upgraded Bixby voice assistant, so certain laundry functions can be controlled without touching the machine. You can ask Bixby to start a preferred cycle, add an extra rinse, check how much time is left or even explain information appearing on the screen.

Voice control on a washing machine might initially sound like one of those “do I really need this?” features, but I can see the convenience when your hands are already full of clothes, detergent and that one missing sock.

---

Keeping an Eye on Energy Usage

Beyond fabric care, Samsung is also putting more emphasis on energy management through SmartThings Energy. The app lets users monitor daily, weekly and monthly energy consumption and provides estimated electricity costs, which makes it easier to see how much energy your laundry habits are actually using.

With compatible cycles, AI Energy Mode can reduce energy consumption by up to 60%, according to Samsung. It does this using AI Ecobubble™ technology, which allows clothes to be washed at lower temperatures while adjusting the cycle duration when necessary.

With electricity costs being something many households are increasingly conscious about, being able to actually see your appliance's energy consumption could be one of the more practical smart-home features here.

---

The Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo 11kg + 7kg (WD90H11C4WSP) comes in white, a first for Bespoke AI Laundry Combo range that carries an AI Home Smart Screen.

Two Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Models for Singapore

Samsung is bringing two models to Singapore.

The larger Bespoke AI Washer Dryer EcoBubble™ 21kg + 11kg (WD90F21BCSSP) is available now at selected retailers at a recommended retail price of S$3,299.

For households that don’t need quite that much capacity, the Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo 11kg + 7kg (WD90H11C4WSP) offers a more compact alternative. It is also the first white Bespoke AI Laundry Combo equipped with AI Home and is expected to launch in early October, with an RRP of S$2,149.

---

Is AI Laundry Actually Useful?

Smart appliances can sometimes feel like they’re adding technology simply because they can. But with laundry, there are a few areas where AI assistance actually makes sense.

Automatically adjusting detergent, water and washing time based on what’s inside the drum could help remove some of the guesswork, while SmartThings gives homeowners a clearer picture of how much energy their laundry routine is consuming.

Of course, you’ll still have to sort the clothes, load the machine and fold everything afterwards. AI hasn't rescued us from that part yet. But if the machine can take care of a few more decisions along the way, I certainly wouldn’t complain.

Getting An Air Purifier? Consider The SHARP 4-in-1 L Series Plasmacluster™ Air Purifiers

Hi Huneybees,

I've been busy revamping around the house, cleaning up our years of mess, refurnishing, and also making ways to keep the house clean and safe from the Covid virus. There are a few home appliances that I have listed on my shopping lists and an air purifier is definitely one that I want to get.

There are so many different types out there and each one boasts of different functions, it can be quite a headache when it comes to the right selection. The new SHARP 4-in-1 L Series Plasmacluster™ Air purifiers -  KI-L80 and KI-L60 comes recommended and if you are looking for an air purifier, maybe you can consider them too.

Launched just in time to keep families safe with their Plasmacluster Technology proven effective against Covid-19, the L Series functions as an air purifier, humidifier, airborne bacteria inactivator, and stand fan, so not only do they provide the freshest air for you, it can also help save some space around the house.

Known for its unique combination of air treatment technologies which include Plasmacluster™, Triple Filtration System, and Humidification, SHARP’s has become the top seller in its product category and is Japan and ASEAN’s No.1 Air Purifier Brand.

The L Series’ 4 key functions:

1. World-Leading Plasmacluster™ Technology

Powered by SHARP’s original Plasmacluster™ technology that uses positive and negative ions occurring in nature to purify air, it removes, collects and captures impurities ranging from mold and viruses to allergens, odors and static electricity for fresh, clean air for your home and family with a high density of 25,000 ions.

The Plasmacluster™ Ions function as air cleaning agents that form clusters around microparticles such as airborne mould, influenza viruses and mite allergens, and render them inactive through a chemical reaction. This revolutionary process is similar to nature’s way of reversing pollution, which occurs at a much slower pace. Allowing for removal of odors from cigarette, pets, cooking and more. Beauty lovers will also be delighted to know that the Plasmacluster™ ions improve the skin’s elasticity and texture, keeping the skin smooth and moist.

The Plasmacluster™ ions are also able to neutralize harmful VOCs and toxic gases while removing static electricity which traps dust particles and pollen, which are known to trigger allergies and cause short to long-term respiratory illnesses. Other than providing purer indoor air to users, the air purifiers have proven to be able to alleviate allergy symptoms and potential complications from being exposed to harmful air for a long time.

2. Purifying

SHARP KI-L80 air purifier comes with a Triple Filtration System, consisting of the following filters: New Pre-Filter, Double Deodorizing Filter and Electrostatic HEPA Filter.

New Pre-Filter: This filter captures PM10 harmful coarse, airborne particles. It is washable and is effective in keeping large dust particles and dog hair at bay. These particles, if exposed regularly, may irritate the respiratory tract such as throat, trachea, and bronchia.

Double Deodorizing Filter: This filter uses an active carbon filter to neutralize unpleasant odors such as cigarette smoke, harmful gases in haze, pet odour, or common household odors.

Electrostatic HEPA Filter: This filter eliminates the threat of even the smallest floating particles (PM2.5) and up to 99.97% particulate matter including bacteria, airborne allergens or mold spores.

3.Humidifying

Apart from safeguarding your well-being at home, the Plasmacluster™ technology also improves humidity levels to reduce virus transmission while controlling lingering odours, leaving the home safer and the air, cleaner. This is achieved with a rotating humidifying mechanism that remains free of water immersion and dried with ventilation when not performing humidifying, thus keeping the filter disc clean while preventing mold.

Doubling on its deodorising feature is a high-performance double filter added with activated carbon and inorganic solvent, both working to absorb moisture volumes by an approximate three times of regular filters. Synthetic enzymes and chemical solvents enables decomposition of odour sources into small components, which are then absorbed by the activated charcoal.

Everything is also contained within a portable water tank that is small enough to be carried with one hand for easy cleaning and convenient water supply. Its self-standing feature prevents tipping over when refilling and its large diameter cap enable thorough cleaning for its insides.

4.Turbo Fan

Use it anytime and anywhere in your home, the L series air purifier doubles up as a fan with a powerful 498m3/h and 408 m3/h air flow for the KI-L80 and KI-L60 respectively.

Additionally, thanks to the SHARP AIoT feature, an AI feature exclusive to the brand can track your habits to learn when to turn up, down or off your devices and prompts you accordingly. The KI-L80 air purifier comes with exclusive SHARP smart control functions allow users to easily control and monitor the air purifiers via SHARP Smart Remote App on their smartphones. Users can easily monitor their air quality and kickstart automatic operations based on the air quality levels through four key factors: temperature, humidity, dust and particulate matter levels. They will also notifications when the indoor air quality turns from dirty to clean. Through the Filter Function Monitor, users will easily know when their air purifiers are due for filter exchange.

The L Series comes in two models - KI-L80 which effectively covers up to 62m², and KI-L60 which covers 50m² and are priced at S$1,699 and S$1,399 respectively and available on Sharp’s official Shopee and Lazada stores and authorised retailers stores.

Suggestions To Protecting You & Your Family

Hi Huneybees,

I have a new addiction - online shopping, or rather I would call it "finger shopping". Going out has become a hassle to me, I hate wearing that face mask that makes me breathless and I've also become very conscious of a place's cleanliness and hygiene.

So, I'm home most of the time and that makes me realize my increasing need for new home appliances. I've already gotten a new vacuum cleaner, new fans to keep the house cool, and also a neck massager to relieve my neck pain from all the screen time.

But with our cranky weather these days plus the COVID-19 and dengue fever on the rise, I'm looking at getting more appliances to improve my home's quality and protect my family too. If you are also looking for some additional help, here are some suggestions...

mc.2 ALTEX ZipBlinds
S$24.80 psf

Working from home might extend out to the balcony as everyone at home is taking up space, but rain, heat, little bugs, and insects or even those prying neighboring eyes can be pretty distracting. When you need that privacy and focus, why not take a look at the ZipBlinds from mc.2?

Sharp Air Purifiers with Mosquito Catcher Feature

JM30 - S$599 / JM40 - S$699

Protecting my family from COVID and Dengue Fever is now my top priority. I've been looking into air purifiers and these 2 models JM30 and JM40 from Sharp seem to fit right into all the choosing criteria. They can both purify the air from bacteria and viruses with Plasmacluster™️ Technology, while also capturing mosquitoes!

Ariston Andris2 Top 30 Wifi-Enabled Smart Water Heater
S$489 Available Now at all Authorized Dealers' Stores

With so many people at home all the time, fighting for bath time can be a hassle. It takes a while for the shower to heat up and sometimes I just tend to forget and turn on the heater or end up leaving it turned on for too long. Stepping into the smart home world, why not get yourself a water heater that can be easily controlled via a smartphone app?

Ariston Aqua Net App and the Andris2 (equipped with Titanium heating element with lifetime warranty) allows you to adjust the water heater settings, the water heater temperature, schedule for showers, letting you have full control of your water heater with just a touch of the app, thus helping to save energy and also time.

Ruhens V Water Dispenser
Bubblegum Pink & Charcoal $2,599 (with 3 years worth of filters)
Marshmallow Pink and Yogurt $2,549 (with 3 years worth of filter)
Available at Ruhens showroom

I love my cold drinks but the process of making ice and waiting for my drink to chill is just too long a wait. I'm very impatient these days and I love getting "help" that has multiple functions. The Ruhens V Water Dispenser allows convenient access to purified water with 5 preset temperatures, letting you have water at your favourite temperature anytime!

Ok, so these are a few of the electrical appliances and gadgets that I'm eyeing at, do you have others in mind too? Do share and see how we can make life at home easier, more enjoyable, and comfortable...
