Weeks before MediaCorp Star Awards (红星大奖) 2016 , Zoe Tay (鄭惠玉) shared a problem that has been bothering her, with media and guests at an event organized by ACUVUE®.

The Queen of Caldecott Hill, Zoe Tay (鄭惠玉) recently discovered that she has Presbyopia (long sightedness; 老花眼) and was initially concerned about her condition until she learned that it was part of her graceful ageing process and thankfully not a disease.

Initially was too embarrassed to ask for bigger font on acting scripts, Zoe Tay (鄭惠玉) has had to managed the stress of Presbyopia (老花眼) secretly while juggling between work and her family. She shared an incident where she felt bad having to take a long time to read the menu at a dimly lighted restaurant and ignored her children in the progress.

The session finally took a deep dive into the science behind Presbyopia and the ACUVUE® range of multifocal contact lenses with Sabrina Hsieh, Head of Marketing for ACUVUE®,  Shirley Loh, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Associate Director of Professional Affairs and Oh Shwu Ji, Store Manager & Optometrist of Specialist Eye Care Centre.

The Influence Of Athletics Spirit Of DC Justice League Superheroes

Hi Huneybees,

Flash! Batman! Superman! These are my childhood American Superheroes that I used to depend on to fight my fear with the dark during bedtime at night!

 

Twenty years on, these DC Justice League heroes may be sitting in my display closet as collectable figures but their importance didn't diminish as their present often brings back fond remembrances of my childhood playtime, helping me to better manage my work-life stress in adulthood.

 On the sunny morning of 30th August 2015, the force of DC Justice League gathered all DC Comics fans to Sentosa for a 5km fun run.  

 

More than 5000 runners turned up for the event donning the colour of their supported superheroes from the core line-up of the race - Superman (Blue), Batman (Grey), Wonder Woman (Yellow), Green Lantern (Green) or Flash (Red) - injecting additional favor to the funfare!

With an average finisher nett time of 31 mins 10 secs, it was heartening to learn that fans of DC Justice League are leading a healthy lifestyle in the athletics spirit of these Superheroes!

Let's look forward to more activities from DC Justice League on top of this successful event!

Sunshine Bakeries Is "Sprouting" With Fresh, New Goodness!

Singapore's first commercial manufacturer and marketer of bakery products - Sunshine Bakeries has recently launched an all new revolutionary Sunshine Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread.

What's so special about the bread, is that the grain used in production of this bread is taken when the seeds just start to sprout. When the grain kernel begins to sprout, that's when the nutrients gets "unlocked" and become more absorbable by our bodies.

This is the first time and Asian manufacturer has come together to work with the US Whole Grains Council to promote the important benefits of sprouted grains and at the event, Cynthia Harriman (Director of Food & Nutrition Strategies, Oldways/The Whole Grains Council), joined us through Skype to share with us more about the sprouted grains.

Grains store energy in the form of starch and the sprouting changes the starch into simpler molecules, improving the glycemic index and thus, making it easier to digest. Just like what  Ketki Vinayachandra (Naturopath Nutritionist, Herbalist, Iridologist) shared, Singapore has getting older and fatter, with cancer rates going higher and people having strokes at 30 years old, it's time for us to care for ourselves and start eating healthier to prevent all these from happening.

I was treated to a tea-time delight using the Sunshine Extra Fine Sprouted Wholemeal Bread and was surprised to find that the bread was so much different from the usual wholegrain breads. The wholegrain bread we once knew, were so dry and I always had to "wash" it down with water, making it so a dread to eat.

But all has changed. The slice of bread presented was not only soft like white bread, it was sweet but nature. I didn't even need margarine when I have this loaf of bread in the mornings. Who says eating healthy means giving up the taste and texture?!
