G-SHOCK X HUF (GA-2100HUF-5A) As My Birthday Present?

OMG! This news came right on my birthday, is it a hint for me to get it as a present for myself? Check this new G-SHOCK watch - a limited-edition collaborative timepiece with HUF (GA-2100HUF-5A). 

The watch commemorates 2022’s 20th Anniversary of the founding of professional skater Keith Hufnagel's HUF brand and is based off the best-selling G-SHOCK GA-2100 model. What attracts me is the special colour combination with the dial is colored in lime green and orange, (which are the characteristic colors of the HUF brand), and the HUF 20th-Anniversary logo is engraved on the back of the cover. 

Inspired by sneaker culture, this new model combines different materials, such as resin and metal band loops, and a cloth band; even the packaging of this watch is well thought out, the cityscape of San Francisco with the colours of the watch. The result is a timepiece that reflects the originality unique to HUF!

G-SHOCK Launched New Watch With Against Lab

If you are a G-SHOCK fan, here's a SEA exclusive one for you. Coming June, the G-SHOCK DW-6900AL22, is a limited-edition collaboration between Casio and Against Lab. Against Lab is founded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2015 with limited resources and armed to go against the norm. The brand represents the spirit of the underdog. All endeavor, no surrender. Against Lab offers various clothing and accessories made through the love for streetwear culture.

DW-6900 was first released in 1995 as the first G-SHOCK to feature an EL backlight. The backlight’s ability to display text or a symbol became a popular feature. Also, the series won fans as a “Triple Graph” model and has remained just as popular to this day. 

Taking inspiration from the superhuman mental toughness of folks who wake up and ride their motorcycle to work, enduring the heat, rain, and occasional road bullies. This collaboration embodies the ultimate Malaysian spirit - The Grind. 

Anytime is the right time to grind. 

Motorcycle culture is one of many strong identities of Malaysian society. The motorcyclist spirit reflects the ethos of G-shock, both built by toughness. Almost every Malaysian has their own experience with a motorcycle - Meant to be cheap, easy to maintain, and reliable. A small motorcycle is used as a tool for conducting business. Name any task, and it has probably done it.

 

The design language of motorcycle components is adopted as the main design element for this collaboration. The overall look may be matte black and but it's the subtle details that appeals. Look closely and you can find that the watch has grain effects, almost like a tire and there's the custom "AGAINST" tire tread graphic and the brand slogan "ALL ENDEAVOUR, NO SURRENDER", printed along the watchband. 

The surprise easter egg is the "AGAINST" mini logo font on the watch face, accompanied by a hidden "A" logo backlight; alongside the special engraving on the Case Back. The metal chrome watch face resembles the material of motorcycle exhaust pipes, while the orange outline is the colour of signal lights. Finally, the whole concept is completed with the engraved steel backing of AGAINST LAB's brand mascot, "A-Man".

G-SHOCK UNVEILS NEW G-SQUAD RED OUT Sports Edition

Let's welcome the new addition to G-SHOCK - G-SQUAD Red Out series, which are the new colourways of the tough sports watches. The base models are GBD-200 which inherits the square design of the original G-SHOCK, and the analog-digital combination GBA-900. The bezel, case, and band are all decked out in red, with some other red accents, they make a good fashion statement piece for the New Year as well as the upcoming Lunar New Year.

These watches can link with the GPS of a smartphone for quicker calibration of distance measurements. The calibration makes running distance measurements more accurate, even when the watch is not connected to the phone. You can also measure your running pace, and an auto lap function is to measure the time, which takes you to run a specified distance. 

Via the G-SHOCK MOVE app (which can be installed on your smartphone and linked with the watch), you can check your Lifelog and history data, which can support daily training. You can also use the app to configure various watch settings. Smartphone linking also lets you connect with the watch via Bluetooth® to enable auto time adjustment, phone notifications, step tracking, and other functions throughout the day. From daily health management to the training that improves running endurance, these new watches provide you with the tools you need to achieve a wide range of health and workout goals.

The Casio G-SHOCK MT-G Blue Phoenix-Inspired Watch Is Simply Too 'Chio'

Being unable to travel these days have made me do tons of finger shopping from home. It's so easy to get updates and shopping discounts within a few scrolls, I've already "updated" my summer wardrobe and I'm eyeing on something else now.

You guys know anything that's bright, loud, rainbow, neon and chrome are all in my palette. So, here comes the new addition to the G-SHOCK family of shock-resistant watches - MTG-B2000PH! Check out its rainbow chrome glory, so futuristic and so easy to pair with any style of clothing!

The new MTG-B2000PH has a rainbow ion plating on the bezel and case as well as a multi-colored dial expressing its design motif inspired by the Blue Phoenix, a bird of Eastern mythology said to bear auspicious tidings. 

The bezel features an independent construction separate from the case with layers of yellow-to-red gradation (crosswise on the bezel) and lengthwise on the case, over light-blue ion plating evocative of blazing-hot flames to achieve a mystical coloration in which innumerable hues seem intertwined. The subtle color variations in the rainbow ion plating mean that every single watch is unique, no two look the same. The dial also employs accents in a multicolor design of colors like pink and orange. The translucent navy-blue band sets the watch design off with a resplendent vision of the Blue Phoenix.

Chio (hokkien for pretty) right?! I'm so mesmerized by it, even my Singlish side is coming out. LOL!

Of course, the watch is not only pretty to look at, it is also complemented by outstanding functionality. It has radio wave time-calibration and also automatic time adjustment when paired with a smartphone using a dedicated app. The watch automatically adjusts to local time when crossing time zones, without requiring the user to do anything.
