Happy 6th Birthday VivoCity!

| |
Hi Huneybees,

VivoCity recently celebrated their 6th Anniversary with their yearly Christmas performance at the amphitheater and the always spectacular fireworks.
It was a treat to celebrate with VivoCity and its customers every year and this year I must say they outdid themselves!

We were first treated to a musical extravaganza of lights, music, dance, sand art and acrobats -  'ILLUMINATE! The Light of Christmas'

Afterwhich, we went to snap pictures of the huge Christmas tree and enjoy more song and dance while waiting for the fireworks...

One Year Tall, One Foot Taller, since 2006.
What a spectacular view of the 106ft tall Christmas Tree from The Sky Park!

Performance before the Firework!

Are you ready for the fireworks?

This year it is choreographed by award winning German choreographer Markus Katterle and the beautiful fireworks synchronized with the music, illuminating HarbourFront precinct, evoking the colour, energy and vitality that VivoCity is known for.

Happy 6th Birthday VivoCity!

Celebrating Singapore's Birthday, Huney'Z Style

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Last week, the whole nation celebrated birthday for Singapore. On the eve, I hung out with friends and we had a hearty meal and chat. We didn't have to work or study the next day, so we very much stayed till late (Private photos... here are some...).

We played Taiko at the arcade.
And moi, bought the Fifty Shades Trilogy to read.... *winks*
The next day, first thing did was to wake up early and draw a flag on my hand. I've been drawing on my face for a couple of years already, so for this year, I drew the flag on  my hand.

Then you ask what's next? Being up so early, of course it's breakfast and a hearty shopping time after that. This very day, Etude House @ Wisma Atria opens and there was goodies to pick up. Check out my beauty blog for the shopping experience...

Afterwhich, it's the usual, going back to my parents' place to catch the flying-by helicopters bearing the Singapore Flag and of course fireworks!

There's always 2 sets, just in case something happens to the main one...
Every year, I was one of the few to see the helicopters fly by with the Singapore Flag, even before it reaches the Floating Platform. Cool right?

Ok, this is airplane display but I forget to bring my extra set of long lens, I could only "see the smoke trails".

After the display, we quickly had our sumptuous dinner that Mummy Deareast prepared for my Cousin's Birthday. Private photos for that part, so I'm gona show ya the fireworks photos after dinner.

It's nice to see Singapore prosper and growing but sometimes it gets frustrating when the skyline is getting more and more piled up, my vision of the fireworks are getting more and more limited. Even comparing the photos from last year and this year, so much is hidden already. >.<|||

I love you Singapore! Happy Birthday to You! But please don't block my vision anymore can?

Happy 5th Birthday Vivocity!

| |
Hi Huneybees,

It's amazing how time flies by so fast! Vivocity has already been with us for 5 years already. Can you believe it? I still remember the day hubby and me were jostling with crowds to get into Vivocity and now it's already been there for 5 years already...

We went up to the rooftop and we were greeted by this HUGE X'mas tree~

After a little music and dinner session, we all proceeded to watch the Christmas Musical - Winter Dream. a 30-minute heart-warming musical about a boy’s fascinating journey into the mythical land of ice and snow, in search of the true spirit of Christmas. The specially choreographed show featured spectacular song and dance as well as amazing cirque-inspired acts.

Linda Black was the host that night.

I like how they incorporate acrobatic acts, skating, music and dance all into one musical and it kept the kids and even adults entertained and amused to the end. There's even blasts of wind to make everyone feel like they are in Winter Land too....

Shoppers will have the opportunity to watch Winter Dream by simply spending a minimum of $100* (maximum of 3 combined same-day receipts) from 21 November to 11 December to redeem a pass for two to watch the show. OCBC Credit/Debit Cardmembers only need to charge $80 to qualify.

The climax is here! We proceeded to the edge of the rooftop overlooking Sentosa and waited for the Fireworks Display by award-winning Italian choreographer, Nick Spiteri. It was breathtaking-ly beautiful to have firworks displayed right over your head and photos can never say enough until you are there yourself.

Other up and coming events at Vivocity for Christmas....

Christmas Late Night Shopping (16, 17, 22 & 23 December 2011)
