Hi Huneybees,

Sofitel Singapore City Centre is presenting Les Jardin du Sofitel in celebration of the global Vogue x Sofitel collaboration from 13 February to 9 April 2023.

Taking inspiration from haute couture and spring fashion trends, 1864 will be transformed into a botanical wonderland with a specially curated all-day dining menu featuring edible flowers and fashion elements that are almost too pretty to eat. Launching just in time for Valentine’s Day and International Women’s Day, a gastronomic affair at 1864 is the perfect way to show love and appreciation to oneself, a romantic partner, friend, or co-worker.

Elaborate Floral Décor

Step into an oasis of floral dreams brimming with roses, eustomas, peonies, hydrangeas, and hanging wisterias that are reminiscent of a Parisian floral café in 1864. Crafted by the master artisans at The Floral Atelier, a luxury floral design studio whose roster of clients includes Louis Vuitton, Dior, Saint Laurent, Cartier, and more; the extravagant installation is a sight to behold. Guests who are obsessed with fashion are also invited to come dressed in their best spring ensemble as the installation includes a runway that presents an opportunity for guests to be the star of their own fashion show.

Botanical Afternoon Tea

The botanical afternoon tea set ($150 for two guests) takes guests on a sensorial journey by paying tribute to the spring fashion shows. It mirrors the journey of someone dressing up for the occasion, from picking the right dress and shoes to wearing the appropriate make-up.

Available from 2pm to 5pm daily, savory creations in the line-up include Light Truffle Duck Rillettes Croquette with Apple Lavender, Cod Fish Brandade in Sakura Shell and Ikura, and Creamy Crab Meat with Lemon ChamomileFor sweets, menu highlights including the decadent Saint Honoré Praline, 64% Chocolate Manjari Mousse, as well as Blossom White Chocolate Bar will surely impress.

In addition to the gastronomic gems, guests can complete the teatime tradition with barista-style coffee prepared to their preference, or choose from more than 20 premium blends of TWG tea including floral infusions such as Amour de Thé, an enchanting potion of delicate rose blossoms and leaves of pure gold, as well as Sakura! Sakura! Tea, a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms, and green tea.

À La Carte Specialties

Drawing inspiration from spring’s beautiful blooms, the medley of à la carte specialties feature savory masterpieces such as Fish Brandade with Light Citrus Gel and Olive Dust ($28), a perfect combination of creamy fish with a refreshing gel, and Pickled Tomato with Eggplant Caviar and Pesto Cream ($24), a delicious appetizer presented in a whole tomato.

Other show-stopping highlights include the elegant Pavlova with Citrus Coulis and Exotic Fruits ($20), which comes with a crisp and rich exterior paired with a soft marshmallow interior, and Lemon Tart with Berries and Lemon Balm ($20), a harmonious blend of sweet, buttery crust with zingy lemon curd.

Cocktails and Mocktails

While flowers may be the go-to gift for Valentine’s Day and International Women’s Day, floral libations are a much better alternative that can help craft unique, memorable moments.

Look forward to Spring Symphony ($25), a thoughtfully curated tipple made with Four Pillars yuzu gin, Luxardo Maraschino, and cranberry juice, perfumed with cherry blossom, and Chrysanthemum Sips ($25), offering notes of chrysanthemum vodka, apple juice, lychee juice, and lemon juice, in a teapot.

For teetotalers, opt for Moon Sparkle ($16), a lavender hue mocktail infused with blue curaçao, cherry blossom, apple juice, and elderflower tonic, presented in a canary cocktail glass, or Bella Rosa ($16), a gorgeous red drink combining Seedlip Spice, elderflower syrup, and cranberry juice, poured over floral ice cubes.

Takeaway Cakes

Bring home assorted handmade creations baked fresh in-house daily in small batches. The Honey Cheesecake ($12) brings together a velvety and rich cream cheese layer with a toasty cookie base that is baked to golden brown perfection, while the Caraibe Chocolate Choux ($12) showcases a light and airy puff topped with swirls of decadent chocolate cream. The Raspberry Macaron ($9) is another showstopper, with luscious pink meringues sandwiching whole raspberries and chantilly cream.

So fashionistas, grab your BFFs and loved ones for this floral dining experience.
You can make a reservation or for more information, go to Sofitel's website.

Draw Fashion Inspirations With Atome's New Look-A-ZIne

Hi Huneybees,

Atome has launch its first ever Look-a-zine - a hybrid lookbook-cum-magazine, featuring everyday fashionistas alongside styled, professional models decked in outfits from their retail brand partners such as Charles & Keith and ALDO.

Themed “Own Your Expression”, the Look-a-zine is a 26-page fashion storytelling book that showcases how Asia’s Gen Z and millennials express themselves through their unique sense of style and fashion, challenging conventional fashion and beauty norms. The Look-a-zine is an extension of Atome’s Own Your Expression campaign (that launched back in June at the Atome Pop-Up event) and also serves as a mini-lookbook of the latest fashion trends across Asia,  curated mostly from a 2-week regional social media challenge on Instagram and TikTok.

The Look-a-zine’s main themes are:

  • Maximalism- One may define maximalism as audacious, extravagant, and exaggerated - but there is more than meets the eye with this fashion trend — literally and figuratively.

  • Fashion Means Business - Think fashion is all play and no work? It's time to embrace sharp and business-ready sartorial splendour!

  • We Own The Night - With the help of fashion-forward nighttime looks, you'll make a bold statement every time you step into the room!

  • Be Kind, Unwind - Gone are the days of covering up your body's flaws and imperfections. Be kind to yourself, and wear whatever you wish!

  • Street Smart - No matter the direction you choose to go, let your fashion do the talking with bold looks that are sure to stop traffic.

  • Love Yourself - Love your style, and love yourself! All you need is an unwavering sense of confidence and boldness that will turn heads for all the right reasons.

  • Walk On The Wild Side - Dare to wear eccentric, eclectic, and experimental looks - but forget the labels, and just have fun expressing yourself with an arsenal of fashion options!

  • Time After Time - Fashion trends come and go, but style is eternal. It's time to embrace styles, reinvented in ways you won't be able to resist!

You can view the Look-a-zine above and I can't wait to see all your fashion looks! 😁

Looking Back At The OUTSIDER Fashion Art Festival

| |
Hi Huneybees,

October I call it the fashion month. With so many fashion shows and updates for the new season, there was so much to see, so much to change. But one that was memorable had got to be the OUTSIDER Fashion Art Festival that ran from October 20 - 22.

The location was unorthodox, not some grand hallways or ballroom, but in a hypermart - BigBox, in the suburban neighbourhood area - Jurong. Titled OUTSIDER, this anti-elitist fashion art festival features works from a range of young emerging fashion brands from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Thailand; 10 Singapore artists created visual art installations, plus 45 works created by fashion graduates from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). A total of 65 young Singaporean and Asian creatives being given a public platform to show off their talents!

OUTSIDER is organized by creative agency Untitled Collective, founded by Zachary Goh and together with Toby Hsu, they have over 17 years in the creative scenes in Singapore and China.

This first OUTSIDER event sees the team bringing fashion and art that’s not mainstream to the general public to create interesting conversations in the Heartlands of Singapore. It’s a passion project to spread the love for fashion and creativity across Asia and whether they profit from it is not on their top priority.

"Many fashion events are exclusive - if you can't secure an invitation or you are not in a certain clique of people, you wouldn't be able to attend. We wanted to do quite the opposite."

There was so many insta-worthy spots and the highlight has got to be the fashion show that features all 13 designers at the event. The brands included Singapore labels Faculty and Voltaire.Visions, plus Lanneret, Alias, Ms Yeeyee, 1=X and Mimblanche from China; Makin Jan Ma, Methodology and Absurd Laboratory from Hong Kong, Batice from Taiwan, Man Chien from Malaysia and Q Design and Play from Thailand. Iconic footwear brand Converse also celebrated its Chuck Taylor All Stars’ 100th year anniversary with an art installation space.

I'm definitely in love with this fresh new take on fashion and art. The fashion pieces will be breathing in new air for our wardrobes and hearing that Zachary and Toby are planning for this to be a yearly event,  I'm definitely looking forward to the new OUTSIDER event!

Falling In Love With The ESSENCE by Triumph 2015 That Premiered At The Singapore JewelFest 2015

| |
Hi Huneybees,

During the opening of the second edition of the Singapore JewelFest 2015 (SJF15), Triumph joined forces with the participating exhibiting jewelers to put up a  lingerie runway show. Pairing 38 pieces of the luxurious ESSENCE by Triumph 2015 Collection with unique and iconic jewellery from across the world, accessorized with captivating and fashion-forward headpieces from Eskpade, you can also feel empowered from the boardroom into the bedroom.

This marks the premiere of the luxurious and tantalizing ESSENCE by Triumph 2015 Collection that features the best styles from Triumph's lingerie. Leveling them up by adding Swarovski Crystal pendants on the lingerie to enhance the appearance as well as featuring sensual bra cutting with finest, delicate lace detailing and glossy fabrics to highlight the tenderness and sophistication of modern women.

The runway show was hosted by celebrity Bobby Tonelli
The sexy camisoles and gorgeous French knickers are also all masterfully crafted to accentuate every women’s femininity and materialise a whole new world of intimate enchantment.

Heinz Mayer (Germany)
It was also a celebration of the Crimson and the White, where diamonds, rubies, spinels and other gems of red and white from across the world (Singapore, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Thailand, United Kingdom, Belgium, United States of America, Israel, Lebanon, Switzerland, Taiwan and United Arab Emirates) takes the center stage to bring out the beauty of the ESSENCE by Triumph Collection.

Sunlight Jewelers (Hong Kong)

Leonori Gioielli (Italy)
SJ Solitaire Jewels (U.S.A)
I'm already falling love the moment the first model walked out~~~ The romantic and intricate designs add so much more dimension and contour to the lingerie. I bet you will feel more confident with your body looking so good, wearing them underneath your clothes and paired with the glittering jewellery, you will be able to succeed in whatever deal you are trying to clinch.

Orital (Italy)
The highlight of the night has got to be the 2 specially customised lingerie sets by renowned German jewellery house - Hans D Krieger Fine Jewellery, and emerging designer - Esther Stella Scherer of Esvara Viva.

Each jeweller took approximately four weeks for conceptualisation of the design and another five weeks to create the bespoke lingeries. Sharing the same German heritage and values, Triumph collaborated with both jewellers in celebration of German excellence and quality craftsmanship.

Inspired by Michael Fabers’ novel ‘The Crimson Petal and the White’ protagonist: a seductress named “Sugar”, the collection Hypnotic Seduction by Hans D. Krieger Fine Jewellery displayed the hallmark of German excellence: concept, engineering, and craftsmanship.

This crimson and white coloured jewellery with the Essence lingerie is made to focus on the most
delicate parts of a female body, hypnotising and bewitching at the same time. The repeating upside-down heart shape jewels, dangling against the back of her French knickers, underlines the dizziness of the tender game of love. Together with the hypnotic pendant chain in hand, who can escape those hypnotic "stunts"?

Featuring 18K Palladium White Gold, with 3181 Brilliant Cut Diamonds worth 99.85 carats and 22 Red and Pink Tourmalines totaling 157.02 carats, The Hypnotic Seduction was retailing at SGD$925,500 at the Jewel Pavilion.

The other piece is a fiery red presentation by German designer Esther Stella Scherer of Esvara Viva. Known for her conceptual jewellery design that draws inspiration from places and sites of heritage, she has designed a bedazzling lingerie - United in Diversity. It is an iconic of German subtle elegance, featuring 16 symbols representing the different cultures of the world in 18K White Gold with 6.4 carats of White Diamonds priced at SGD$35,000.
“Each icon, inspired by their unique historiography, is a tribute to UNESCO heritage sites. The symbols are visual objects used as a metaphor for a deeper, greater truth. By understanding the meaning conveyed by specific symbols we become aware of the two-fold nature of our existence. Each jewellery symbol, consecrated with love, is meant to bestow salutary energy upon the person wearing it and relay a waft of the soul and the magic of these places. My resolution to turn passion for aesthetics and the precious magic of bygone times into a concrete form, add a sensuous attribute to the meaning of “adornment” to the elegant lingerie from Triumph.” --- Esther Stella Scherer
