My Digital Shilin Market 2020 Experience

Hi Huneybees,

Missy Coronavirus has made traveling overseas restricted and I was craving for a Taiwanese fix, that's why last Friday, I was on standby mode waiting for Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 to "open up" at 3pm.

Being stuck at home since the start of Circuit Breaker, this event has been on top of my radar as I was super curious about how this digital night market experience would be like.

Kudos to Invade.co in making the whole Night Market a digital experience in such short notice, I can only say it was a somewhat satisfying as there were some disappointments for me since I didn't manage to fulfill everything on my 'wishlist' at this digital event.

The Shilin Market is split into 4 virtual zones - there are things to eat, things to buy, and also entertainment and games to keep you occupied and spend the weekend in songs and workshops.

I started first with the 'PLAY' section as I expect there would be some digital flash arcade games like shooting balloons or throwing darts. Regrettably, it wasn't the way I expected it to be as I felt the section was more like promotional games for SingTel GoMo and Bubble Tea Factory.
The consolation was I won myself a plushie from the 'Lost in Shilin' game and I am currently waiting to be contacted for the collection.

And in case if you are interested in getting a new mobile plan, check out the promo code above.

My favourite zone was the 'SHOP' zone, who can resist shopping right? Especially when you can do all of it from the comfort of your sofa, scrolling, clicking and checking out with your credit cards!

There are several local brands that are supported by Shopee featuring handiworks like accessories, customer made pouches, Taiwan snacks, and even virus-be-gone products. But my focus was on those Taiwan exclusives products that you can get via iCarry.

Not only did I find a new shopping platform, but I also managed to buy those Taiwanese snacks and souvenirs that I've been craving for. I've bought several items and it's already been a week, I'm still on pending delivery, I'll share again when I receive them. iCarry even has Japanese products too, but I'll explore that another time.

'EAT' Zone was my most anticipated one, yet it was also the most disappointing one for me. The selection of Taiwanese food was pretty minimal and not all of them delivers to my place here in Yishun. After so long, I thought my bubble tea craving could be satisfied with "Playmade by 丸作", only to find out that they don't even deliver to my area ~~~

In the end, I didn't get to buy any food for the delivery charge was a little too much too. Each stall had their own minimum target amount to hit before they would deliver and on top of that, delivery charge was $10 EACH STALL!

Which means, if I wanted Pancakes from Taiwan Waffles, Iberico Pork Lu Rou Fan from The Masses and Sandwiches from Egg Stop, my delivery charge alone would already be $30! It was a little costly, I really envy those who managed to get to have cheaper delivery charges. Should I try ordering from a stall this weekend? Just to satisfy my taste buds?? What you think?

Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 will be back again this weekend June 19 to 21; and under the ‘FUN’ Zone, you can look forward to Cooking Segments by Aaron Wong, Home Workouts with Jamie Teo, alongside song performance by Circo, The Moonhouse, etc.

😊😊😊😊😊😊

I know today marks the opening of Phase 2 of Singapore's post-circuit breaker (Congratulations everyone!), but please don't all rush out immediately. If not needed, why not stay home and check out the Digital Shilin Singapore 2020. Stay safe my Huneybees!

How Are You, My Huneybees? ❤️

Hi Huneybees,

How are you? I've missed you lot so so SOOOO much! I didn't mean to go MIA, I just wanted to take a short little break to revamp some things and rebrand Huney'Z World. However, so many things have been happening, distracting me and bringing me on emotional rollercoaster rides, it's so hard to find a proper time to really sit down and get my thoughts out.

Ever since hearing about the news of Covid-19, I've been isolating myself at home, only to go out once in a while for meals or to get necessities. Call me Kiasi, but I'm not prepared to wave goodbye to the world yet and since I'm asthmatic, I rather play the safe card, avoid crowds and stay as sanitized as possible to keep COVID-19 at bay.

So, what have you all been doing during this CCB (nope, not scolding profanity here) period? I feel so accomplished looking back at how much I have done during this period. First, I started with sanitizing the house and since I'm already cleaning up, I also did some Marie Kondo style, ridding the junk out of the house. I've been such a hoarder, that things were lying everywhere, eating up all the free space.

That was tiring and took a bit of toil on my weak back, but it was amazing like a game level unlocked when I started to have more space to walk around. With my high spirits, I then went on drawing, doodling, and filling in my adult colouring books.

In the midst, some personal stuff happened and I spiraled down the rabbit hole. All I wanted to do was just lie in bed and watch movies and k-dramas all day in the room. Then TikTok came along as I was searching for apps and games.  I've been flicking through those videos all day, they were entertaining and slowly, I found myself back again, replicating some of the popular trends like Dalgona Coffee, Milo Steam Cake and Souffle Pancakes.

Another skill unlocked and now I'm all ready to bounce back to "reclaim" my Queen Bee throne. I have some new visions and will be making some changes to Huney'Z World. I hope to continue having my Huneybees' support!

Let's Fight COVID-19!

I'm looking forward to the reopening of the Circuit Breaker and in the meantime, let's all stay safe from the virus, stay positive and together, we can overcome! #SGUnited 😷😷😷

Celebrate Christmas With Limited Edition Cheesecakes From Cat And The Fiddle

Hi Huneybees,

If you are big cheesecake lovers like me, you would definitely fall in love with the 2 special limited edition Christmas cheesecakes from Cat and the Fiddle!

Cat and the Fiddle's founder - Daniel Tay, launched the first-‐of-‐its-‐kind cheesecake e-‐shop with a concept of selling over 10 delectable whole cheesecakes at an affordable price (ranging from $19.90 to $35.90 for a whole cheesecake). With the convenience of next day delivery, you can simply do your ordering online, personalise the cheesecakes as well as purchasing gifts to go with it.

For the Christmas special, you can choose from 2 festive flavours - “Have a Meowy Christmas” and “Snowy Christmas”. Both cheesecakes are created atop a gingerbread crust, adding a touch of spice and crunch to the decadent velvety goodness of the chocolate cream cheese.

The “Have a Meowy Christmas” chocolate is filled with chocolate creaminess and brownie bits, best for those who are huge chocolate fans, whilst the “Snowy Christmas” cheesecake combines the chocolate-‐ly richness of the cream cheese with brandied cherries.

I asked to have the "Snowy Christmas" cheesecake as I thought it was something different from the usual cakes, but to be honest, it was the brandied cherries that got me intrigued. Hehehehe... you need some booze for the festive season right?!

I had mixed feeling for the cheesecake as I wasn't too big a fan of the gingerbread crust and it was a little too sweet with the icing layer on top, but when you have it with the brandied cherries, they paired so well and it would go well with some wine too...

My cake was delivered plain but of course you can always choose to have it personalised with exclusive Cat and the Fiddle stencils and ornaments - from Christmas greetings stencils to Santa Claus figurine add-‐ons. You can definitely  delight your guests with your fancy cheesecake decorations before they sink their teeth into these scrumptious cheesecakes.

Each stencil set comes with a Christmas stencil, sieve and either chocolate or snow powder, while the Christmas decorative set includes a mini hut, Santa Claus, snowman, reindeer, pine leaf, ten chocolate pebbles and three chocolate tree figurines. Both the stencil and decorative set are priced at $5.50 each (after GST).

And if you fancy a little dine-in and try out the other Cat and the Fiddle cheesecakes, you can now head on over to the newly opened Geek Café. It is the first physical store to sell individual slices of the famed cheesecakes.

Beyond the impressive selection of Cat and the Fiddle cheesecakes and artisanal brews, the Geek café - true to its name - will sell electronic devices and provide repair services for one’s tech gadgets. The innovative café also provides barista and tech repair training.

The Geek Café will offer the 11 permanent varieties of the Cat and the Fiddle cheesecakes (all except the King Cat of the Mountain cheesecake) ranging from fruity concoctions to alcohol-‐infused flavours. The cheesecakes are baked fresh daily and contains no additives and artificial colouring preservatives.

The cheesecakes can be bought at the official Cat and the Fiddle e-‐shop (http://www.catandthefiddle.com) from 8 December 2014 onwards and are priced at $38.90 each (after GST). You can also be able to pick up cheesecake orders purchased online and buy unique Cat and the Fiddle gifts, such as pegs, plush toys and pots, at the Geek Café.

So get clicking, get yourself a cheesecake for your Christmas parties!
Have an amazing Christmas!!!

Geek Café is located at:
81 Marine Parade Central, #01-644, Singapore 440081

My Nuffnang Story

Hi Huneybees,

With the upcoming NAPBAS - Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards, many memories of my past Nuffnang events came to my mind. To most of you, I have only started blogging 2 years ago, but in real fact, I've been blogging for 5 years. I was doing it in Myspace and Wordpress for 3 years and then I decided to use Blogger or Blogspot instead, because I wanted to place Nuffnang ad units in my blog and that's when my Nuffnang adventure begins...

At first, it all started out with exclusive movie invites and movie premieres and at the many events, I kept seeing the same faces, I made friends and I was even recruited and "upgraded" to be a Glitterati Plus member, which gave me even more exclusive invites to events, that only we could go...

At G+ recuitment event, I caught up with popular tattoo blogger, Noel Boyd.
At a Puma event, I got to spend the night rubbing shoulders with celebs and having a ton of fun...

At the events, not only did I get to make friends, I even got the chance to be upclose and personal with local celebs and took pictures with them, sharing a little of their limelight....

I even got to go to places I've not been before, share the moments with my new found friends and even exclusive back stage passes. pictures with Minister and more more more celebs

I even got the chance to take pictures with my idol, Elim Chew twice at 2 seperate events! How rare to be able to catch up with your idol twice right?

I love it when Nuffnang plan events for us bloggers to get together and share some tips with the top notch bloggers. Hopefully, I can one day reach their level too!

And once in awhile, we get treats to food tasting and pampering sessions. Feels like a princess with Nuffnang.

And with the many outings and events, I mentioned I made friends. So, this year, I even celebrated my brithday with the gorgeous September babes! Thanks Nuffnang!

Lastly, Nuffnang made my wish came true when I was given invites to the Lady Gaga showcase when she was in town! A big hug to Nuffnang! Without that I would not have been able to mingle with the celebs and catch a glimpse of the Pop Queen herself!!!!

Thank you Nuffnang for the wonderful memories for me to keep. I know I'm not nominated in the NAPBAS but I hope to be able to attend the NAPBAS, meet other bloggers from over the world, share a few tips and tricks from them and *cross fingers* next year I get to be nominated too?

Come 16 December 2011, 500 bloggers from around the Asia-Pacific region will flock to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 in Putrajaya Marriott. The Awards aims to not only honour the region's best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across Asia-Pacific. The Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards is brought to you by Volkswagen Malaysia and Putrajaya Marriott.
