Here's To A Better Life!!!

I was looking forward to a great new year but these couple of weeks have been a painful moment for me as I've lost my little brother. He was one of the victims in the recent Jiangsu tugboat accident and the whole holding-high-hopes-of-survival to having to sending him off was really too hard for me to get started on writing again.

Thanks to all of you who have been patiently waiting, showering care and support, I'm back here writing; and hopefully after "pouring" my heart out, I could get back on track. I've been staring at my computer for days, not really sure how to go on. But seriously, words can never express how much I feel about this loss. Every little thing reminds me of him and each time, it's like someone has dug a hole through my heart.

But by chance, I saw the movie "Book Of Life" and it kinda shook me up. After death, it doesn't mean everything stops. Life has to go on and hey, my bro might be having a party in Paradise, like the characters in the movie.

Right now, friends and family are my priority, treasuring every single second that I have with them. I'm gona live everyday like there's no tomorrow happily, doing what I love. Heck with the minute little things, can't be bothered about what others think and spend my time on the people who needs me more.

All these getting pissed about people stepping on your toes, bloggers' disputes, which celeb is not on terms with which celeb, seemed so irrelevant now. Time is now better put back on living a healthier lifestyle, getting back to do what I love most - painting, as well as caring and sharing more with the community.

Here's urging you all to treasure all the time and loved ones that you have, tell them you love them, hug them, kiss them and try to do more "good"! Cheers to a better life!!!

Nick Vujicic Launches New E-Magazine - "ATTITUDE IS ALTITUDE" To Inspire And Motivate His Fans

Nick Vujicic was recently back in Singapore to promote about his new digital magazine - ATTITUDE IS ALTITUDE (AIA). This magazine will be launched monthly for free starting on 19 January 2015.

A mentor that has been there for Nick - Elim Chew, founder of 77th Street hosted the press event held at *SCAPE last week and they shared about what AIA will be all about with the crowd.

Promoting Nick's message of hope, overcoming challenges and leading a more active, positive and purposeful life, AIA draws to inspire readers with stories and interviews with amazing people doing great things around the world.

Elim will join a list of contributors like John Maxwell, Tom Ziglar, Daniel Churchill, Dr. Mary Lamia, Dr. Rani Gunther, with a feature of Carlos Slim Jr (one of Mexico's most prominent businessman and philanthropist), kickstart the first issue's interview with Nick Vujicic.

Bethany Hamilton, a shark attack survivor who continued to pursue her passion of surfing will also be sharing her story in the first issue.

I got a little teary eyed when Nick shared about him being unable to hug his son - Kiyoshi and being envious of his wife, who gets to hug him all the time. But that does not stop him from showing love and affection for his two-year-old child. He tries to be the best father he can be every day, so that his son will come over and hug him and Kiyoshi did it when he was 16 months!

It is exactly this kind of positive thinking that keeps us pushing forward. Always staying in that gloomy and depressed mood, does not help, why not be happy and find ways around things and when you have the solution, don't forget to share and help...

Stand Strong – You Can Overcome Bullying by Nick Vujicic

Bullying is always an issue revolving around our society. Many people would have a painful experience, including myself, be it during school times or even when I'm out in the society working. Bullies can be your boss, your coworkers, teachers, coaches, boyfriends, girlfiriends or even you parents!

Nick Vujicic (pronounced as Vooy-Cheech) is such an inspiration for those being bullied, bringing hope in his speeches and after his press conference for his new book - Stand Strong, I know no matter how much obstacles I face, I must always have faith and press on!

Being without arms and legs, being different, has made Nick an easy target for bullies since young. He suffered from loneliness and depression, hated God then for making him the way he is and the fear of losing his parent's help, caused him to attempt suicide at the young age of 10.

Everything got tougher when his family moved from Melbourne to Los Angeles, not only was he the only kid in school with no arms and legs, the only kid in a wheelchair, his Australian accent also made it so difficult for him in school.

"Most of us are familiar with childhood bullies who threatens to beat us up, make fun of us, or turn friends against us. Adults may experience bullying in the form of sexual harassment or as discrimination based on race, religion, sexual identity or disabilities. Bulluies can be your boss, coworkers, teachers, coaches, boyfriends or girlfriends - anyone who abuses his power or position." --- Nick Vujicic

Nick took hold of the fact that God had a purpose and plan for his life and never looked back. In his latest 6th book, Stand Strong – You Can Overcome Bullying (and Other Stuff That Keeps You Down), Nick has sent a powerful message for anyone who has ever been bullied.

When asked about protecting his year-old son, Kiyoshi, he said that he would not mind if he gets bullied in the future.

"Everyone experiences bullying at some... level, so I can't protect him but I can equip him with what is needed to handle bullying 

The world, unfortunately, is cruel. The world judges sometimes. The world stereotypes. I want him (my son) to see that there will be times when people just attack people for no reason. You can't overcome a struggle if you don't face a struggle. So I'm not worried - I just want to do all I can to be the best daddy I can be." --- Nick Vujicic

In Stand Strong, not only did Nick shared about his personal experiences, biblical principles and practical advice that will help you to bully-proof your life, he also got us to understand the mindsets of bullies (sometimes they are the ones who are in need of help) and provides us with strategies for building up our bully defense system from the inside out.

Nick reminds us that bullying is a global epidemic – but we have the power to change the world!

In 2012, Nick visited a school in Hawaii to discuss bullying. A year later he received a letter from the headmaster saying that his visit had transformed the school! In the year that followed, not a single incident of bullying occurred at that school!

"Being bullied, sadly, is as common as catching a cold or stubbing your toe. I travel all over the world talking to young people about this issue. No matter where I go, bullying is a major topic of concern. Teens in every school in every town and every country tell me they have mental, emotional, physical and spiritual pain because of being bullied."

At the press conference, Nick also announced several interesting upcoming projects of his....

1,000 Videos in 1,000 Days

Nick launched a project last month to put 1,000 messages if hope (a minute long video) on YouTube, where everyone can access. A Nick Vujicic Movie A movie of Nick Vujicic's life is in the works. It is scheduled to be releases in the United States in 2015, produced by 10 Elephants Pictures. It is a film production housse that he's set up with some partner. "I'm not sure if I will be acting in it, or if they will use my body and CGI the actor's head on! But we do have a budget for a Class A actor and Class A director."

New Book Launch - Love Without Limits
Nick met his beautiful wife, Kanae and got married in Feb 2012. A year later, they became parents to a healthy baby boy named Kiyoshi and both Nick and his wife will be penning down this love story in Love Without Limits (subjected to release in United States on Nov 18). “If you’re inspired by me, I’m even more inspired by her. What I’ve gone through is nothing compared to her. She has not shared her side of our story.”

Stand Strong is Mr Vujicic's sixth book and is aimed to help teenagers and adults handle and fend off bullies.

The book is available at all major bookstores and 5,408 copies have already been sold here, propelling it to the top of the national best-sellers list for the past four weeks.

After the press conference, we followed Elim Chew of 77th Street for a private catch up. Nick and Elim have been friends and she was presenting a "Hope of One Voice" T-shirt to him. "Hope of One Voice" is a original song written by Elim after a vision she had.

In the vision, she said she saw children clinging on to floating logs and crying out for help after an earthquake and that spurred her to write down what she saw and she ended up penning the lyrics to Hope Of One Voice.

A specially-designed T-shirt was created to support the Hope Of One Voice Rebuild Philippines initiative and is on sale at 77th Street. 20% of the sales from the merchandise will go to the Apl.de.Ap Foundation for this cause.

[Tried & Tested] Having Fun New Hair Colour With Manic Panic

Hi Huneybees,

Check out my latest hair colour! After 4 months of faded blue and pink hair, I knew it was time to change up the colours, I feel that I'm starting to look washed out, even though the fad is the pastel hair colour, this was not my style. It had to be "updated" since I was going on my Korea trip in a couple of days.

I didn't want to bleach my hair again and run the risk of hurting my hair, as my hairstylist suggested, my hair might break. So, I decided to go dark. Nope, not towards Darth Vadar, but a deeper green tone that might blend with my black roots better. 

So, I got myself the "Enchanted Forest" from Tish & Snooky's Manic Panic. It is beautiful shade of green that would go well with the black roots that's growing out. I feel in love the moment I saw this picture above!

But like all Semi Permanent Hair Dye, you have be careful where you rest your head. It stains practically everything you lie on. Your perspiration is green and it will stain your collars. That's why I'm always dressed in black, but when the colours kinda wash out and roughly after 3 weeks, I've stop "dripping" green everywhere I go. This is a small price to pay, but when you see my head full of green, you know it is worth it!

So, here's my transformation process... I simply applied the whole tub to my hair, one tub of the dye was just enough for my shoulder length hair. It covered up even the pink sides that I have and I loved this tone for a change. Everyone agreed that this colour complimented my skin tone better. Do you like it? My hairstylist even helped me style my hair and well, it's been awhile since I last let my hair down... :)

The next few days was spent in Korea and after a few washes, the hair colour seemed a little more lighter and there seems to be a little more shades going on, giving my hair more dimension. I simply LOVE it!!!

After almost a month, I went back to my hairstylist to get my hair trimmed and thinned down. This time, he straightened my hair and though the colour has faded to a lighter shade of green, the turquoise underneath has also been showing out more. Together with my spikey hairband, ain't it totally Korean inspired?!

Hmmm, I might do a little more changes to my hair, since there are so many more colours from Manic Panic to play with. What do you suggest? Maybe I should do this crazy rainbow coloured one?
