Watsons x Cantopop Super Boy Band MIRROR Empower Members to GO GREEN

Hi Huneybees,

Sustainability is all the talk these days and Watsons has taken its mission further this year with a
cross-over campaign with Cantopop Super Boy Band - MIRROR to inspire 18 million of its loyal customers to Go Green across 4 Asian markets including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore.

The Go Green with MIRROR campaign aims to encourage customers to take positive actions in their daily lives to make more sustainable choices. The idea is that if everyone makes a small difference every split second, the impact would be enormous if we do it together. During the kick-off event, MIRROR performed their brand new song: "GO GREEN" and shared with the audience the green actions they have taken in their daily lives. Overseas Watsons' followers enjoyed the live-streaming event as representatives from the 4 Asian markets interacted with MIRROR onstage to promote a sustainable lifestyle.

GO GREEN with MIRROR goes everywhere!
Theme song "GO GREEN" is aired on digital billboards on the busiest street of Pavilion KL in Malaysia and also across 100 digital Out-Of-Home media screens in Singapore. Multi-storey Xi Men Ding store in Taiwan and Causeway Bay store in Hong Kong is also turned into MIRROR GO GREEN Flagships to promote sustainable living.

The Low-Carbon Virtual Green Garden
Watsons has also developed an interactive in-app game in Watsons SG App to promote sustainability where Watsons members can create their own virtual Green Garden. By completing various green tasks from 11 February – 30 March 2023,  members can establish a greener lifestyle through "Skip it" (Reduce); "Bring it" (Reuse) and "Keep it" (Recycle).

The App will then estimate the carbon emission savings for each green task completed and Watsons will then match the carbon emission savings and sponsor relevant tree-planting projects in Rimba Raya, Indonesia. The project is estimated to offset 900 tonnes of CO2 and make a bigger impact on our planet in parallel to its green actions. Customers in Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan can play the game on the Watsons App, while customers in Hong Kong can play the game via the MoneyBack app.

To reward Watsons members for completing the green missions, Watsons' all-time favorite Sustainable Choice products will be awarded when the designated number of virtual trees have been planted in the virtual Green Garden. The sustainable products include Watsons Green Tea Bamboo Toothbrush (1's), Naturals By Watsons Lavender Hand Sanitising Spray 60ml and Watsons Love My Glow Moisturising Capsule Mask (5's). Qualified members would be able to collect them from their preferred Watsons store upon receiving an email notification.

Dance Challenge for Greener Lifestyle

"GO GREEN" is MIRROR's brand new song composed by the group. It will be aired in Watsons stores across Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan and it will be strategically aired in Singapore, reminding customers that green actions can be a part of their lives, and it can be as simple as snapping their fingers. Stores at selected participating Asian markets will be turned into MIRROR GO GREEN Flagship Stores to promote the message of low-carbon living. Furthermore, customers can participate in a dance challenge on social media to spread the impact of MIRROR across Asia and to create a more sustainable future.

For more information, download the Watsons SG App now to engage in a more sustainable lifestyle with MIRROR! Let's all do our part to keep our beautiful world going. 😀

My Digital Shilin Market 2020 Experience

Hi Huneybees,

Missy Coronavirus has made traveling overseas restricted and I was craving for a Taiwanese fix, that's why last Friday, I was on standby mode waiting for Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 to "open up" at 3pm.

Being stuck at home since the start of Circuit Breaker, this event has been on top of my radar as I was super curious about how this digital night market experience would be like.

Kudos to Invade.co in making the whole Night Market a digital experience in such short notice, I can only say it was a somewhat satisfying as there were some disappointments for me since I didn't manage to fulfill everything on my 'wishlist' at this digital event.

The Shilin Market is split into 4 virtual zones - there are things to eat, things to buy, and also entertainment and games to keep you occupied and spend the weekend in songs and workshops.

I started first with the 'PLAY' section as I expect there would be some digital flash arcade games like shooting balloons or throwing darts. Regrettably, it wasn't the way I expected it to be as I felt the section was more like promotional games for SingTel GoMo and Bubble Tea Factory.
The consolation was I won myself a plushie from the 'Lost in Shilin' game and I am currently waiting to be contacted for the collection.

And in case if you are interested in getting a new mobile plan, check out the promo code above.

My favourite zone was the 'SHOP' zone, who can resist shopping right? Especially when you can do all of it from the comfort of your sofa, scrolling, clicking and checking out with your credit cards!

There are several local brands that are supported by Shopee featuring handiworks like accessories, customer made pouches, Taiwan snacks, and even virus-be-gone products. But my focus was on those Taiwan exclusives products that you can get via iCarry.

Not only did I find a new shopping platform, but I also managed to buy those Taiwanese snacks and souvenirs that I've been craving for. I've bought several items and it's already been a week, I'm still on pending delivery, I'll share again when I receive them. iCarry even has Japanese products too, but I'll explore that another time.

'EAT' Zone was my most anticipated one, yet it was also the most disappointing one for me. The selection of Taiwanese food was pretty minimal and not all of them delivers to my place here in Yishun. After so long, I thought my bubble tea craving could be satisfied with "Playmade by 丸作", only to find out that they don't even deliver to my area ~~~

In the end, I didn't get to buy any food for the delivery charge was a little too much too. Each stall had their own minimum target amount to hit before they would deliver and on top of that, delivery charge was $10 EACH STALL!

Which means, if I wanted Pancakes from Taiwan Waffles, Iberico Pork Lu Rou Fan from The Masses and Sandwiches from Egg Stop, my delivery charge alone would already be $30! It was a little costly, I really envy those who managed to get to have cheaper delivery charges. Should I try ordering from a stall this weekend? Just to satisfy my taste buds?? What you think?

Digital Shilin Singapore 2020 will be back again this weekend June 19 to 21; and under the ‘FUN’ Zone, you can look forward to Cooking Segments by Aaron Wong, Home Workouts with Jamie Teo, alongside song performance by Circo, The Moonhouse, etc.

😊😊😊😊😊😊

I know today marks the opening of Phase 2 of Singapore's post-circuit breaker (Congratulations everyone!), but please don't all rush out immediately. If not needed, why not stay home and check out the Digital Shilin Singapore 2020. Stay safe my Huneybees!

Hi Huneybees,

Fancy a weekend getaway from work/life stress or planning the coming school holidays for your family or friends? Why not consider exploring Taiwan, New Taipei City to be more precise, for its nature, culture and hospitality?

Jiufen, Ruifang District, New Taipei City; Credit Jeffrey Hsu

There is no confusion between New Taipei City ( 新北市 ) and Taipei City ( 北市 ) - the capital city and already popular distinction for Singaporean - as both share the same municipality; rather
New Taipei City is the new name (since 2011) of the county surrounding the capital city. It's like Greater Manchester and Manchester City, London City and Greater London, etc...
Still confused?? Simply put it in Singapore context, its akin to a tourist visiting Orchard Road and Marina Bay ("Singapore City") and exploring Ang Mo Kio and Yishun ("Greater Singapore")!
