We've been planning for a mid-year trip and Australia has been a country that I keep wanting to go back again. I find it very pretty, life's laidback and the air is fresher there; with a lot of places still unexplored.

Every time we go, we are just touching on those tourist must-go itineraries and have very little time to really submerge ourselves into their lives. So, this time we are thinking of a self-driving trip and check out some of the unknown or less visited places in Sydney.

Paddington Reservoir Gardens, Paddington

This heritage-listed public garden sits in the city’s East, with a touch of Hanging Gardens of Babylon and Roman baths. Once a vital source of water in the 19^th century, the reservoir was transformed back in 2009, preserving much of the original brick, timber and iron framework. Stroll along the boardwalks, admire the fusion of contemporary and old elements, sit on the rooftop near the sunken garden and watch the light change as the sun sets in this magical haven.

Sip a rum-inspired cocktail and drink in the stunning Sydney Harbour Bridge views at this hip drinking hole. The interior is as Insta-worthy as the view, with a nod to the grand plantation architecture of Cuba and a touch of 1950s Miami with lots of botanicals, pastel pink seating, and neon signage.

Built into the remnants of a heritage-listed factory in Sydney’s industrial centre, The Grounds has become a Sydney Insta icon with its kitchen-garden vibe and hearty, innovative eats. Snap a selfie in front of vegetable gardens, flower pots and old-fashioned stalls selling homemade soda and donuts. They have special themed nights and you should check out what they have done up for Aladdin Night!

Bondi Beach is home to the world’s most famous ocean pool, Bondi Icebergs. Named after its Winter swimming club, the bright white pool dates back to 1929 and is an Instagram favourite during the Summer months. From Bondi, take the coastal walk around to Bronte Baths, built in 1887.

Chinese Garden, Chinatown

Located in the heart of Chinatown, the Chinese Garden of Friendship was modeled after the classic private gardens of the Ming Dynasty, offering an insight into Chinese Heritage and culture. Be whisked away to the Ming Dynasty for an afternoon and explore the very grounds that Hugh Jackman stood on when the filming of The Wolverine was done!

Green Square Library, Zetland

The new underground library that opened end of last year boasts a floor-to-ceiling colourful shelf of books that’s perfect for snapping your Instagram shot. Located in the light-filled reading room in the tower, this shelf doubles up as a gorgeous art installation. The entire library is flooded with plenty of natural light – thanks to the 40 over skylights across the roof, and because of its innovative use of space and architecture, also won the Architectural Review Library Award 2018.

Angel Place, CBD

Few know about this little nook in an alley, but for those who do – you’re in for a treat. Empty birdcages hang above Angel Place, casting an ethereal glow around the area and making it perfect for any sort of hipster-ific Instagram shot. Aptly titled ‘Forgotten Songs’, the display designed by Michael Thomas Hill allows you to take in the sounds of the birds as you stand beneath the cages and admire the gentle sway of the cages as you capture that super artistic shot. You’ll want to come back again for more.

The Calyx, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney | @thecalyxexperience
Located in the heart of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, The Calyx is a horticultural exhibition space with an integrated mix of indoor and outdoor areas and changing exhibitions. The Calyx has the largest green wall in the southern hemisphere and stunning contemporary architecture.

Hornby Lighthouse, Watsons Bay
This iconic lighthouse is painted in distinctive red and white candy stripes. It’s positioned in a spectacular spot too – standing tall at South Head, near Watsons Bay in Sydney Harbour National Park with views of Sydney Harbour to the West. Built in 1858, it was designed by colonial architect Alexander Dawson.

Don't they all look gorgeous right? With nature and cityscapes combined, and the weather just nice for a trip to visit Sydney again, I'm excited and now it's only down to whether hubby can take the leave. I'm Insta-ready for the trip already!

I was looking up for some travel destinations to celebrate hubby's birthday and I came upon this information which I think very little people know about. So, I wana share it with you guys and I think it will bring more attention to the beautiful sceneries down under.

Jacaranda Blossoms commonly referred to as the "Dream Tree", are beautiful lilac trees that bloom from October to November, transforming Sydney into a sea of purple, and seeing the pictures shared, it's comparable with the cherry blossoms and sakura season...

For those that are also looking for a getaway and am keen to check out the Jacaranda Blossoms, here are some of the best spots for that Insta-worthy shot.

Grafton Jacaranda Festival

Happening from 27 October – 4 November, the annual festival is held under canopies of purple blossoms and commences regally with the crowning of the Jacaranda Queen and Princesses. The fun family event features local arts, crafts, and sporting groups all showcasing their work.

The festival culminates with a float parade of enormous proportions on Saturday afternoon followed by a sunset family concert on the Riverbank. Sunday morning, for one last chance to tread the Jacaranda blossom carpeted streets, there is a Fun Run which includes a run across the famous bendy bridge.

One of Sydney’s buzziest and most happening suburb – Surry Hills is a gastronomic paradise filled with cafes and quirky restaurants, imagine dining and enjoying a lovely cup of coffee under those gorgeous lavender trees, as people walk by. What a scenery right?

Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney

Take a long languid stroll in Sydney’s famous Royal Botanic Gardens. A short walk from Circular Quay and Hyde Park, the garden has thousands of plant specimens. Wildlife in the garden includes colourful birds, fruit bats, and water dragons. The Calyx is a world-class horticultural space, with changing exhibitions designed to capture your imagination.

I'm seriously considering this season in Sydney to be our next trip, now to make sure hubby has enough leave to take. LOL!

I Had A Roller Coaster Ride At HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Cup Final!

Hi Huneybees,

It's my third year watching HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournament and I have had a awesome day witnessing some of the best live rugby actions while soaked in a festive atmosphere with many beautiful people came dressed up in various colourful costumes, singing along to the songs played during game intervals, and cheering passionately for their teams.

The two-day rugby festival at the Nation Stadium of Singapore kicked off with fantastic actions on 28th April with 16 teams competing in a scheduled knockout format, leading to the final on 29th April where Fiji won its third HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournament in a row with a thrilling 28-22 win over Australia, who reached their first Cup final.

It has been a pulsating match right at the start of the Cup final. The Fijian took full advantage of their strength and speed to dominate the game in the starting 5 minutes with 2 tries and conversions before the Australians fought back with their own 2 tries (but missed both their conversions) at the end of first half. First half result was 14-10.

The second half started of with Fuji extending its lead to 11 points with a try and conversion (21-10) before the Australian stung the Fuji with two back-to-back tries and one conversion to gain a slim lead (21-22) nearing the end of regulation time.

And that's where the magic of a Cup final happened and hence the roller coaster ride began for everyone watching, myself included, when all of us thought Australia has had sealed the game from the Fijians when the they did a try seconds into the extra time but was disqualified due to a costly dropped ball; and for this, the Australian paid dearly as the Fijians responded almost immediately to score in stoppage time to claim the 28-22 win and claim their HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens crown!

It has been a superb final for me and overall the games played at 2018 HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens, which saw over 55,000 fans this year, has been positive with a lot of tries scored and competiting teams really went at it and put some risk into winning.

With a perfect blend of pulsating on-pitch rugby action, thousands of people rocking out to disco legends Village People, and a 20,000 square feet FunZone that featured first time appearances of The Transformers, Nerf, and the Little Pony, the two-day fiesta reaffirmed its position as the biggest celebration of rugby in Southeast.

[Tried & Tested] My Must Get M.A.C Product For Fall/Winter 2015

Hi Huneybees,

Before I was whisked off to Australia, I managed to check out a new launch by M.A.C Cosmetics. This is for the ladies who are infatuated with lip colours and are looking for a fully pigmented lip gloss.

Named as Vamplify, there are 16 electrifying lip shades to be paired with 12 shades of lip pencil color. There was suppose to be a 17th shade - She-Rebel, but sadly it didn't make it into the Singapore market. WHY?! I was super amped about this blue shade and rushed down to the store early morning only to find that it is not launched here!!!

For Fall/Winter 2015, lip gloss is back and with the Vamplify shades, you can forget about that sticky feeling and it is no more just a top coat for your lip sticks! It has the opacity of a liquid lipstick, the sheen of a gloss, and the texture and staying power of a traditional lipstick. After swiping each stick, I'm seriously considering throwing out my lipsticks in exchange for these babies.

There are nude shades to shocking colours and I was really taking a super duper long time to decide which shades to get... Well, here's the swatches of the Lipglosses (which I might have missed out a couple in the midst of the mess) and Pro Long Wear Lip Pencil, hopefully, that will help you decide on that purchase faster...

In addition, the long and wide doe-foot applicator provides ample coverage in one swipe, while the tapered tip allows you to draw a precise line around the perimeter of your lips. It's basically like a glossy lip liner and I've been using them on my Australia trip. You can wear them alone or have them as a colour changer on top of your lip sticks.

Oh and did I mention that they are very moisturising as well?! Whenever I go to a cold climate country, my lips would chap and hurt by the third day, but this time round, my lips didn't even crack and I didn't even have to use my lip balm!

I think they should make the Vamplify lip glosses their permanent line, but before that is happening, you better be heading down to the M.A.C counters today as they come in limited quantity and won't be staying here for long!
