[Tried & Tested] New Lacoste Female Fragrance - Eau de Lacoste

Sweet pink fragrance with a cap that is inspired by the cotton material of Lascoste clothings.

Fragrance play a large part in my life. It makes me more refreshed, feel more feminine and I do not have to fear the B.O when I am out on events.

I received the Eau de Lacoste, the latest fragrance for ladies and I am deeply in love with the light, sweet fragrance. As you all know, I have my pink streak of hair and because of it. I've been going crazy over all things pink and sweet and dolly.

There's a hint of fruits and flowers, very awakening for the morning. Before I head out every monring, I will spray the perfume on my body and one final step - with one spritz high in the air, and I walk into the "fragrant air". 

The fragrance last for most of the day and I have a little travelling perfume holder that I transferred the perfume over, which I will spray a little for the night event I normally attend. It refreshes me after a tired day out and I am set for a date with my hubby!

He has been praising me for how good I smell and we both love the light, delicate, feminine fragrance.

Kiehl's Since 1851, the New York based purveyor of fine quality skin care preparations, recently invited me to their Grand Store Re-Opening at the New Wing of Plaza Singapura, as well as to witness the unveiling of their latest collection - Kiehl's Aromatic Blends.

Woohoo! When I arrived at the event, I was treated to a wonderful cocktail prepared by Leon. He's cute right? :)

I was brought on a sensorial trip around the world through the introduction of its efficacious, scented body collection - Aromatic Blends. With each scent pairing, Aromatic Blends, takes customers on a wonderful journey to the source of Kiehl’s ingredients – the lush countryside of Provence, a desert oasis in Morocco, the dense jungle of Uganda and the tranquil gardens of Japan– while simultaneously delivering high performance skincare.

 

For Kiehl’s, Aromatic Blends represents the company’s authentic apothecary heritage of inspiring fragrance blends, utilizing sustainable sourcing methods, the finest natural ingredients, and the latest in science and technology for use in its formulations.

Each Aromatic Blends scent (found in the Fragrance, Cleansers & Body Lotions) was formulated with fewer ingredients than found in traditional fragrances, using higher proportions of each key ingredient.

Fragrance:a pure and sensual fragrance crafted with a strong focus on the quality of two unique key ingredients for a simple, clear, yet sophisticated construction.

Skin-Softening Body Lotion:inspired by the hydrating performance of Kiehl’s iconic Crème de Corps body lotion, this superbly hydrating and soothing body lotion is proven to deliver 24 hours of hydration and nourishment to the skin - without the use of silicones.

Skin-Softening Body Cleanser:this rich, lathering, foaming body cleanser, formulated without sulfates, gently cleanses and conditions the skin. Proven to offer 24 hours of skin softness.

Trying to figure out the scents for the Morocco fragrance. 

“We wanted fragrances that expressed the sourcing stories behind each aromatic choice, with specific recognizable scents. This will help make Aromatic Blends more distinctive to our customers." --- Cheryl Vitali, General Manager for Kiehl’s Worldwide.

There are four collections within the Aromatic Blends family. Each collection has a unique sourcing location or sourcing inspiration. In order to deliver the purest scent expression of each aromatic blend, Kiehl’s utilizes a variety of responsible sourcing philosophies to craft aromas that represent each unique ingredient in their purest, most efficacious state. This approach to achieving “aromatic efficacy” includes:

Natural Ingredient Extraction: on-site extraction method using only steamed water to capture essential oils directly after harvesting the ingredients, while they deliver their freshest and strongest aromas.

Sustainable Sourcing: harvesting naturals from sustainable farms that provide ongoing local community support.

Aromatic Reproduction:technique that recreates ingredient scents without destroying the plants and allows the aromas specific to a locality to be faithfully captured.

Four Diverse Journeys - Each Distinctly Kiehl's, a unique fragrance on its own.

South of France - Fig Leaf and Sage 

Like it's name, Fig and Sage fills up the smell like a garden and you will feel as though you're in Botanical Garden all day!

Kiehl’s chemists make great efforts to develop efficacious, no-nonsense formulations utilizing only the finest ingredients. When seeking to launch the Fig Leaf and Sage fragrance, Kiehl’s wanted to mirror that authenticity.

In search of the purest scent expression, Kiehl’s was looking to capture not only an ingredient’s original scent, but the impact that ingredient had on the surrounding environment. To achieve this, Kiehl’s found a perfumer who spent his childhood in Provence.  This fragrance captured the aroma of Provence and is intended to evoke or even create a memory for each Kiehl’s patron.

Uganda - Vanilla and Cedarwood 

This is hubby's favourite scent. It's a little smoky and musky, very masculine smell...

When sourcing ingredients for its high quality preparations, Kiehl’s aims for fair-trade and sustainable sourcing, when possible.   In its sourcing efforts for Aromatic Blends, through its suppliers, Kiehl’s was introduced to a special location in Uganda, a community producing a superior natural vanilla oil.

Kiehl’s suppliers work with this community to cultivate high quality vanilla, through a program that embodies the concepts of corporate social responsibility, helping to institute social change across 6500 vanilla farms.  This sustainable sourcing program provides on-going social assistance for the vanilla farmers including the installation of drinking water wells, education through techniques of cultivation and harvest, fair-trade pricing and establishment of a financial banking system that provides micro-loans to local families.

Kiehl’s goal to always use the finest ingredients led the company to select this very special natural vanilla from this Uganda community.  This Ugandan vanilla with its smooth, nearly smoky aroma is distinctive and rare and is a direct contrast to commonly and commercially used vanilla extract, which is more sweet and floral. 

Morocco - Orange Flower and Lychee

Orange Flower and Lychee is a very fruity, mysterious smell. I like it and it's a very sunshine-y scent.

When Kiehl’s was sourcing the world over to find natural, yet efficacious ingredients, the team was introduced to a unique orange blossom essence. This blend was so special and exceptionally fragrant because it was formulated using three different parts of the Bitter Orange tree vs. the typical single orange essence. The Bitter Orange tree is known to produce oranges that deliver a more potent “orange” aroma. By incorporating the stem, leaf and flower in developing our orange flower aroma, Kiehl’s ensures the purest scent expression.

Mr. Suffit describes this fragrance blend,“The Orange Flower and Lychee recreates the atmosphere of late afternoon in a Moroccan garden. The Orange Tree absorbs the warmth of the sun during the day then exudes its strong distinctive essences as the air begins to cool in the evening, while the Lychee lends a soft and sweet aroma reminiscent of the roses growing nearby.”

Japan - Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit

It's a tough call between this and Morocco (Orange Flower and Lychee). I think most ladies like them both. I favour the Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit slightly more because it's just that sweet sweet girl-y fragrant that makes you want to dance around all day...

Kiehl’s research showed that some of the most alluring scents around the world are derived from the most delicate ingredients.  Kiehl’s fell in love with the Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit scents for their unique and distinctive qualities.

Kiehl’s was able to use natural extraction for the Pink Grapefruit, however, Nashi Blossom was far too delicate for a typical extraction.  This unmistakable scent required an advanced aromatic reproduction. Kiehl’s utilized a unique extraction technology where odorous molecules can be extracted at room temperature but under precise pressure conditions.  

Kiel's even had an artist that night to do an exclusive caricature for us, the invited guests!

There's a tinge of sexiness with the rich roses and peonies as well as refreshing with the bamboo. This rosy woody combo makes the heart of the perfume feel very beautiful and sensual.

The perfume is very light, but it isn’t as overtly-youthful as the packaging and campaign would have you believe. It’s a beautiful, loveable scent. I recommend you try Fairy Dance.
