Start Your Halloween Weekend With AXN's Premiere Of Insidious: Chapter 3

It's Halloween weekend and it's time for trick-or-treating and partying. To get into the scary and mysterious feel, why not tune into AXN (Singtel TV Ch 304 and StarHub TV Ch 511) as they will bring the channel's premiere of Insidious: Chapter 3 on Sunday, October 28 at 10pm.

I'm a scaredy cat and wouldn't dare watch horror flicks but if you have been following the Insidious series, this third chapter will be bringing you back to the beginning before the unforgotten haunting of the Lambert family. When paranormal investigators Tucker and Specs team up with the psychic Elise to help a teenage girl contact her late mother, Elise is forced to venture back into The Further where she finds a ruthless supernatural entity craving the souls of the living. It's the darkest chapter yet in this spine-tingling portrayal of evil unleashed.

Well, if your heart can take it and you wana get into the mood as you prepare for the Halloween party, start by tuning in to AXN from 9.50am with Supernatural’s crossover episode with Scooby-Doo where the brothers are transported into the world of Scooby-Doo and must attempt escape.

At 10.40am, join McGyver and co. as they explore the Bermuda Triangle to locate the son of the Vice President. Who knew Halloween could be this deadly!

From 11.30am, it’s time for some laughs with back-to-back airing of Hotel Transylvania and Hotel Transylvania 2! Voiced by Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler, the movies tell the story of how monsters can get along with humans.

At 3.05pm, it’s time for some real-life scares as we bring you some of the creepiest and scariest acts from Asia’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent! Expect to see acts like viral sensation The Sacred Riana and Magus Utopia while keeping your wits with you until the premiere of Insidious: Chapter 3 at 10pm.

Be Prepared With A Filled Stomach When Watching MasterChef Asia Debuted On 3rd Sept

MasterChef is finally here in this region under the name MasterChef Asia with 15 selected aspiring home cooks from across Asia coming to Singapore for the first time to compete for the coveted top honor!

And I being a self-taught cooking enthusiast, who have been following many versions of MasterChef over the years, including those from China, Korea, Australia and USA, this certainly presents a great opportunity for the like-minded to gain global recognition as a chef!

Fans (including me!) of MasterChef congregated in numbers last Saturday and turned the usual busy weekend human traffic at Nex shopping mall in Serangoon, the suburban housing estate of Singapore, to a standstill for a chance to catch a glimpse of Hong Kong-born culinary genius Susur Lee, culinary TV personality Audra Morrice and 3-Michelin Starred chef Bruno Menard, whom together formed the judging panel for the first-ever pan-regional, English version of the competitive cooking reality show.

For me it's certainly the Singapore-born, finalist at the MasterChef Australia Season 4, Andra Morrice, who I learned how to bake the delicious Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart with Cherry Port Jelly two years ago!

 Made popular in USA by the Michelin starred celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (co-creator of this show and Hell's Kitchen), based on an original UK franchise, Singapore will be sending three representative in Woo Wai Leong (Lawyer), Sandrian Tan (Housemaker), and Lennard Yeong (Engineer) to contest with 12 other home cooks from seven other countries for the first MasterChef Asia title. 

The Trio was also present at the Meet & Greet session that day to give the fans the MasterChef Asia live experience when they battled it out in the iconic Mystery Box challenge.

At the end of the challenge, it was the Coconut Ginger Prawns with Prawn Omelette served on Pineapple Salsa and Pickled Daikons prepared by Sandrian Tan that impressed the judges. Fortunately for the two losing contestants, neither of them need to leave the show.

Remember to catch the debut screening of the MasterChef Asia on 3rd September at 9pm (Singapore/Hong Kong Time) on Lifetime (StarHub TV Ch 514).

A caution to all Huneybees: as always for all the MasterChef show, do not watch any episode over dinning time, or worst with an empty stomach, as the foods in front of you thereafter might just look less appealing as compared to those shown on the show =)

Pawn Stars are coming to Singapore next week!

If you have been following HISTORY Channel's Pawn Stars, you are in for a treat next week as the father and son duo of Rick and Corey Harrison will be in town to meet their fans!

You can meet and interact with the Pawn Stars, who are on their first trip to Asia, at Star Vista on 25 August, Sunday from 12pm. They will be sharing more about the series and their passion for the pawning business. The Pawn Stars will also be on the lookout for great buys as they tour around some of the iconic sites of Singapore and sample the world famous culinary treats.

HISTORY’s Pawn Stars features a family-run pawnshop in Las Vegas, where three generations of men from the Harrison family; Grandfather Richard, son Rick, grandson Corey; and their friend Chumlee, jointly run the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rick Harrison, 48, has been in the pawn business for 28 years and is an expert when it comes to spotting anything fake or stolen; and Corey Harrison, 30, began working at the pawnshop when he was nine and is expertly trained in the art of appraisal.
The series is best known and loved for the Harrison’s highly hilarious antics on-screen, with clashing and camaraderie every step of the way. This family lives and breathes the pawning business, using their sharp-eyed skills to carefully assess the value of items their colorful customers bring in, objects ranging from the obscure to the truly historic.
