Music Doesn't Have To Be Expensive With GoGear

Hi Huneybees,

I don't think I can live without music. I'm always updating my playlists with the latest songs and I have different playlists for different occasions - happy songs to chase the Monday blues away, fast beat music that you can exercise to or soft, soothing songs to help me relax and get to sleep.

And if you are like me, you will understand why I'm always hopping to new choices of audio gadgets, trying out their quality when playing the music, or even finding the beautiful looking ones to be part of my fashion OOTDs.

But most of the time, when I try the more economically priced earphones, the sound quality might be compromised or when I want better quality, that's when it gets pricier. It gets frustrating right?!

Not to worry, thanks to Hwee Seng Electronics, there's GoGear now! You get trendy, fashionably designed audio gadgets at affordable prices without missing the good, quality sound that can keep you company everyday, making you happy with the tunes of your choice.

You can brighten up your world with their exciting posse of playfully named headphones and Bluetooth speakers that come in an eye-popping range of colors. Just by their earphones alone, you can already 5 different range - CozyBuds, Tunes, Sparklers, Turbos and Alumies, that's priced from S$9.90!

All 5 of these earphones come with the 1 button remote (play/pause) & mic for music and calls when you plug them into your smartphones. but each varies slightly with their sound system as well as sizes to suit your needs.

The CozyBuds is your entry level stereo earphones and almost the same quality as the Alumies, except that these babies comes in earbuds forms. The next level would be the Turbos, that's shaped a little like those racing car engines, with slightly better booster sound quality.

Of course, the ultimate ones are Tunes and Sparklers with Noise Isolating earphones and just 2dB difference in sensitivity. Putting them on, I really cannot hear my outside surrounding sounds, allowing you undisturbed indulgence to listening to your music as you work or go around your everyday routine.

And for those who wants wireless solutions, there is the Freerides Bluetooth Earphone and Easy Rider Bluetooth Headphone. I'm more of a earphones person as I find the headphone band a litte restricting when I'm in glasses and the Freerides earphones are so light, you almost feel nothing at all.

No matter how hard I shake my head, these earbuds would not drop, definitely a must-have for the exercise buffs and those who hate those get-in-the-way wires. You can wear them on its own, or put on those hooks to wear them for extra "grip".

Both the earphones and headphones can be paired for call control with built in microphone. Say yes to wireless conversations and goodbye to having to 'kiap' your phone between your ears and shoulders! :)

But if you have great music, be sure to share that with your friends. Invite them over for parties, head on out for picnics or even road trips and staycations! There are 3 to choose from - 3-Way Awesome, Double Agent and Splash n Dash.

As its name suggests, the 3-Way Awesome plays music in surrounding all round 3 directions with 2 bass radiators and a main ‘beast’ speaker driver. It can be paired up via Bluetooth to your devices and can be played up to 6 hours.

Nope, the Double Agent is not some special spy gadget, but it is also definitely not your usual bluetooth speaker. The portable Double Agent makes multi-tasking and sharing your secret playlists real smooth and easy on the go, allowing you to pair 2 smart devices at the same time with Bluetooth 3.0. You can lay it flat on the table or choose to hook them on wall hooks, in cars or even on tree branches! Hehe....

Something I've been wanting to get is a waterproof portable bluetooth speaker. Maybe coz watching too much of Hitchcock's "Psycho", I'm kena squirmish bathing alone in the quiet bathroom and normal bluetooth speakers are not waterproof, which might not be good to have on the bathroom.

Thankfully, I now have the Splash n Dash bluetooth portable speaker. It is IPX5 splashproof safe, can connect up to 10 metres and can be stuck onto any surface. Psst, it might even add some fun in the bathroom for couples. *wink*

So, with so many to choose from, have you made your choice?
All GoGear products come with a one-year local warranty, and are now available at Mustafa and selected 7-eleven stores in Singapore.

 • CozyBuds: S$9.90
 • Tunes: S$16.90

PANASONIC Ultimate Navi Race

Hi Huneybees,

On 22 March, I was at Panasonic's Ultimate Navi Race. Through a series of challenges, Intelligent Eco technology came to life. Contestants from 7 countries arrived in Singapore to vie for the grand prize at The Ultimate Navi Race, presented by Panasonic Asia Pacific, for their ECONAVI range of intelligent, environmentally friendly products.

The Ultimate Navi Race is based on five Sensory elements that form the crux of ECONAVI technology, namely Human Activity, Memory, Temperature, Light and Load, testing contestants’ skills on mimicking these sensors.

The journey to The Ultimate Navi Race began with a Facebook competition, in which participants competed in a series of fun mini-games played on the social media platform. The top two contestants with the highest scores from each of the seven participating countries - Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and India - were then selected for the grand finale of The Ultimate Navi Race in Singapore.

On-event, finalists ran the gauntlet of five games, requiring them, among other things, to memorise and act out a set of recorded poses, overcome obstacles, run against the pull of a bungee cord, fill a receptacle with a set amount of water while in a state dizziness, and push their reflexes to the limit.

In the end, Team Malaysia, represented by Danny Shiek Harn Heng, 27 and Hiew Khee Chun, 27, beat 12 other contestants from the region to take home the final prize worth S$10,000 in cash and Panasonic vouchers. In addition, each also received a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 Super Zoom camera.

The race is aimed at creating awareness about Panasonic’s intelligent, eco-friendly ECONAVI technology in a range of home appliances. Each appliance in the range utilises sophisticated sensors and program control technologies to achieve optimal energy saving performance.

About ECONAVI Technology
Panasonic’s line-up of ECONAVI electronics and home appliances, ranging from air conditioners, refrigerators and washers, is designed specifically to maximise energy savings and reduce water consumption in one’s household. The ECONAVI technology concept applies high precision human sensor and control program technologies to optimise appliances operations according to environmental conditions without ever compromising the comfortable lifestyle of its owner.

Utilising the same principles in formulating intelligent technologies, Panasonic’s ECONAVI line-up delivers the most Earth-friendly, high performance electronics and home appliances available in the market today. ECONAVI turns the consumer household into a technological realisation of green convenience and comfort, saving both money and the environment.

“Panasonic has always been committed to addressing environmental issues and this endeavour has been integrated into the very fabric of all our business activities. ECONAVI is one huge step in reinforcing our goals and The Ultimate Navi Race was a regional initiative to create awareness among the consumers. The game as a whole was an attempt to showcase this groundbreaking technology, through a tangible and simplified platform and we are delighted with the overwhelming response. The unparalleled benefits offered through ECONAVI technology, not just economically but also ecologically in the long run, are truly noteworthy.” --- Mr. Katsuhisa Sato, Deputy Managing Director, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Asia Pacific
Here's a little more about the ECONAVI products...

ECONAVI-Optimised Air Conditioners
• Features: Utilises high-precision Human Activity Sensor to moderate the temperature according to room usage. • Energy Savings: These sensors result in reduced electricity usage for cooling by up to 35% .
• Models available: N series (Econavi)
• Price: starting from S$ 1299

It adapts to the user's lifestyle and save energy through efficient cooling. ECONAVI detects the level of lighting in the room, when and how often the fridge door is opened, as well as internal and external temperature levels. Based on this, it controls the refrigerator’s internal temperature for greater energy saving, taking into account the user's living environment and how they use the refrigerator.
• Energy Savings: Through its sensors, ECONAVI helps reduce power consumption by up to 40%, as compared to a conventional model .

The Inverter technology also receives information from the 3D sensor to determine the amount of drum rotations needed.

Now to reveal what was the Panasonic surprise...

Hi Huneybees,

Remember the previous blog post where I attended a party held by Panasonic? At the end of it, there was a little bag of Panasonic surprise that I didn't reveal. Well, it's time! Have you made a guess? The tag line is #GoTheDistance and yes, it's a Panasonic Mobile Backup Charger for Smartphones.

The charger is very compact, only the size of my palm! I could charge 90% of my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and it's really handy especially when the smartphones these days drain out the battery so fast! Sometimes I have to be out of home for the whole day and by half of the day, my battery drains out. With this little charger, I can even go clubbing into the night at peace!

So compact right?

In the package is the Mobile Charger, a USB Cable and an AC Adapter. You can choose to charge it with the conventional electrical wall plug or simply plug it into your computer with the USB Cable to charge it.

Specifications

- Input: DC 5 V 500mA / 1 A
- Output: USB x 1 port DC 5 V Max. 1 A
- Size: approx. 39 x 70 x 22 mm (Main Unit)
- Weight: approx. 78 g (Main Unit)
- Battery Inside: Li-ion 3.7 V 2800 mAh

With the 3 colours LED light indicator, you will know when is it time to charge or when the charger is charging, etc. What I liked was the on/off button that you can press to control the battery charging. When you think it's enough, simply off it, save the energy and keep till a later time when you need to charge you mobile phones again.

The charger can be found in most IT stores, but cuurrently, I do not have the pricing yet.
I will update once I get it. :)

SHINE Youth Festival 2012 Closing Conference

Hi Huneybees,

It's August already and last week marks the end of the SHINE Youth Festival. It has been a great month and there was plenty of events during the whole of July. At the festival closing, Mr Chan Chun Sing (Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports / Chairman of National Youth Council) drew time out to address the event before rushing to the airport for London Olympics 2012.

Do you like the all new NYC logo?

The arrival of Mr Chan Chun Sing and was flooded by the media to do interviews...

The conference began with a prize giving to those who participated in the Panasonic & OMY's SHINE Photo & Video Competition as well as presentation in appreciation for all participating partners and media.

Daniel Ong was the host for the night.

Smile! This is a candid shot! Everyone so "cereal".

Excited students seeing their teacher and classmate on stage.
Juz-B performed their infamous acapella number.
And there was a talk show interview with the representative of Glee Studios.

The SHINE Advocates spoke about the Pledge to SHINE and below Justine Lee, the Stars of SHINE 2011 awardee shared his experience since being awarded last year. He was the guy behind Sole Apparels and living by his motto  lives by the personal motto – “Find a need and meet it. Find a hurt and heal it”, he established the company with a vision to provide a “sole for every soul”. Their concept of “Buy One, Give One” donates a pair of shoes to a needy child in China, for every pair of footwear sold.

Justine awarded the Favourite Stars of SHINE, Choo Pei Ling.

Then, it was time for the Stars of SHINE 2012 Awardees and SHINE Favourite Nominees to take the stage. Not only did they dared to dream, they also pursued their aspirations that led to action for the community.

As everyday heroes who stepped forward to touch the lives of others and make a difference, Colin Wan pursued his passion for yo-yo by forming Spinworkx to reach out to other youthes; Jonathan Ng battled kidney failure and numerous adversities to become a health advocate and community leader; and Sarethkumar Kunasilan overcame the loss of his father at the age of 15 to bag various academic awards and inspire other youths as a volunteer mentor.

The closing festival ended with a group photo with Mr Chan Chun Sing
A photo with Daniel Ong and the night ended....
The SHINE Youth Festival may have came to a wrap but inspiring youths and making a change never stops. Go on to www.shine.nyc.sg to learn more.
