It's unbelievable that Naruto has come to its 20th Anniversary! It was like yesterday when the anime scene lit up with a wave of ninja trend and suddenly "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (影分身の術)" was everyone's common nod.

In celebration of this long-standing Japanese anime, the Naruto 20th Anniversary Exhibition will be washing up our shores this May into Marina Square!

The exhibition will recreate 8 memorable scenes in the anime, such as the touching scene where Naruto sits alone on a swing, watching the other students graduate from the ninja school to become real ninjas as well as Naruto and Sasuke’s heart-shopping battle in “The Final Valley”. You can also find Sasuke  and Kakashi  busting out their signature jutsu move - “Mangekyo Sharingan” and “Curse Sealing”

Get into your best Naruto cosplay outfit and prepare to call out your inner Shinobi with the various 5 immersive experiences too! Innovatively combining sound and light effects, fans can enter and revisit The Five Great Nations through the interactive "Naruto World Map'', take a souvenir photo with the "Great Lord Elder" or follow Sai in using the "Ninja Art: Super Beast Scroll" technique to summon a beast for an insta-worthy pic.

Battle All Odds With All New DEPRESSION

Hi Huneybees,

Fashion designers - Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh from DEPRESSION have always been creating avant-garde fashion pieces that puts their fans on the fashion front.

DEPRESSION has launched a new campaign with an unveiling of their new logo and a new direction for their 9-year-old brand in their upcoming collection - ‘VOL. 1 LIFE & DEATH’. Focusing more on the unisex silhouettes, the new capsule collection has a reboot feel to their previous collections, giving them a fresh new breath by adding street goth and Chinese cultures to it.

Title: VOL. 1 Life & Death
Designers: DEPRESSION by Andrew Loh and Kenny Lim
Photog: Aidan Yeoh
Grooming: Ivan Hoo
Models: Kim Yong Jin & Angus Wilson
Inspired by ‘street fights and codes of survival’, this monochrome collection with silver and holographic accents featuring asymmetric cuts, ninja masks and Chinese numerics. A mixture of basic and statement pieces that includes tank tops, loose jersey shirts, jackets and socks, together with the label’s signature leather platform sneakers, adds a strong punctuation to the collection.

My favourite has to be this jacket that reminds me of Shino Aburame from Naruto. It adds on to that mysterious feel and gives the wearer a sense of darkness, that adds to that edgy look too! Feels like once I get my hands on this jacket, I can start controlling and shooting out bugs. Wahahaha!

Together with this collection, the DEPRESSION logo is also updated with the Chinese characters ‘1 2 3’ featured alongside the familiar monochrome DEPRESSION logo, giving their pieces another Asian touch to them.

Of course, with new directions, comes new collaborations. DEPRESSION is spreading its wings and expanding to new markets such as China and Europe! Yes, not only can you find them in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong, those of you staying in Beijing and London, can look forward to seeing them in your country this year! They will be launching their new season collection in Milan at the White Tradeshow (20-22 June). Yay to Team DEPRESSION! Bring Singapore Fashion to new levels! Jia You!!! :)

The new collection - ‘VOL. 1 LIFE & DEATH’ will be available in Singapore at the SECTS SHOP located at Orchard Cineleisure #03-05A and Orchard Gateway #04-14. For more information and updates, go to their website - www.depression.com.sg or follow them on Instagram - @Depression_Official and Facebook - Facebook.com/Depression.Label .

Dattebayo! Have You Gotten Your Tickets To Live Spectacle: Naruto?

Hi Huneybees,

"Dattebayo だってばよ!"
NARUTO is happening LIVE in front of our eyes coming this June!!!!!

For 2 exclusive days only, we will be seeing Japan's favourite Ninja anime - Live Spectacle: Naruto coming to live on stage at Resorts World Singapore RWS! I can't wait to see those ninja skills right before my eyes and I'm dying to see my favourite Sasuke and Kakashi Sensei!!!

Back in Decemeber last year, we have already been given the sneak peek of the character designs, and amazingly Gaara turned out super realistic and stood out the most! But that was of course further topped by more character release...

Psst, Anju Inami, who plays Ino Yamanaka is the voice behind Chika Takami in Love Live!
Check out Team Asuma - Ino, Shikamaru, and Chouji, Team Kurenai -  Hinata, Shino, and Kiba, as well as Konohagakure's legendary Sannin - Jiraiya, Iruka Sensei, Haku and Zabuza. But somehow, I still find that with Rock Lee, Neji, Kiba's pup - Akamaru and the ever so sexy Tsunade, would make the whole performance more complete ~~~

Cast:
 • Kodai Matsuoka as Uzumaki Naruto
 • Ryuuji Satou as Sasuke Uchiha
 • Yui Itou as Sakura Haruno
 • Kenta Suga as Gaara
 • Yuuki Kimisawa as Kakashi Hatake
 • Kazuhiro Hirakawa as the Third Hokage
 • Hidekazu Ichinose as Iruka
 • Tatsunari Kimura as Kabuto
 • Asahi Uchida as Zabuza Momochi
 • Miho Imamura as Haku

The Story about the Boy who lives in the Village of Konoha-Gakure...
One day, at dawn, the mischievous boy called Naruto gets suspected of the missing book full of Ninja’s prohibited alchemys.  The thing is that he was trapped to know the secrets of his birth.  When he was delivered, the legendary demon fox with nine tails was sealed up in his body.  Naruto gets terribly shocked to know the fact, however, he was encouraged and supported by Iruka, one of the teachers at Ninja Academy, so that he managed to graduate from the school.  Now that Naruto and his classmates start their duty as fresh-man, it means the beginning of a journey where they are forced to face challenges and fatalities as well as Naruto’s personal struggle and friendship with his fatal friend Sasuke.

But judging from the amount of time spent on the character reference in costumes and the promotional video, I bet all Naruto fans will be seating on the edge of the seats as we travel back to when we first caught Naruto and his friends in 1999, when the series kickstarted on Weekly Shonen Jamp
This stage play adaptation together with the recently released Naruto the Movie: The Last, are parts of the Naruto's New Era Opening Project in a bid to cover the manga’s story from its first to the 27th volume, focusing on the childhood episode, the struggle between rivals and Naruto’s strong riptide.

Live Spectacle: NARUTO will take you to the world of incredible live actions - acting, dancing and acrobatic performances, with various fantastic stage effects. So, get ready for this amazing international live action entertainment on 6 and 7 June 2015!

‘Live Spectacle: Naruto’

[Digital Fashion Week 2014] Unleash Your Inner Demons With DEPRESSION's S/S'15 Collection

Hi Huneybees,

DEPRESSION's Spring/Summer 2015 collection is screaming for you to unleash your "Inner Demon". Going by their signature monochrome colour scheme, this collection is more theatrical as designers - Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh mentions, they were thinking more of a dramatic fashion walk for their very first exclusive preview during Digital Fashion Week 2014.

Their show was pretty dark and gothic, even the styling has gone miles apart from the rest. It had that fantasy Twilight and Vampire Diaries moment going on. Chest baring male models, dark sultry smokey eyes, heavily sunken cheek bones with mile high styling for hair. *Drools*

Back to the outfits, I was highly intrigued by the print on the jackets and tops. Some might debate it as dragon scales, but the designers have verified that it was in fact close up of feathers like those of the fallen angels! The in-trend sports luxe fashion brings you to different occasions and the idea of layering is just right for the Singapore weather.

My favourite piece has to be this Ninja-Naruto-ish outfit on the male model. The whole mysterious feel is encompassed into this look and for those with electric eyes, this would be the one choice. Not only is the mesh top in-trend, once again, it makes a good layering piece.

Though arguably some might say the pointy hoods are a little too Halloween, I think the mesh versions make great accessories to go with the DEPRESSION outfits, maybe I'm bias coz I'm infatuated with hooded outfits, but what's your opinion?

Female fans of DEPRESSION would also be happy for find womenswear in this collection, dedicated pieces for just the ladies, without having to "share" the unisex pieces as what DEPRESSION always had.The highly favourited amongst the crowd was this dress made from different layering materials and that super sexy slit for you ladies to show off those long legs of yours ~

More of the collection can be viewed below. Selected pieces from the DEPRESSION Spring/Summer 2015 collection can already be pre-ordered at Inverted Edge. Just go to invertededge.com/shop/designer/depression-dfw.
