M.A.C Launches Candylicious Lip Glosses - Oh, Sweetie

Oh, Sweetie! An affectionate name for M.A.C's latest collection of Lip Glosses, that are not only named after different desserts, they smell just like those sweet treats too! The 15 piece collection is headed up by model and influencer Caroline Daur and they are not to be missed, especially for those who have a sweet tooth.

With names like Funfetti Cake, Sugar Cookies, Banana Muffins, Coconut Macaron, Death by Chocolate and Purple Panna Cotta, this collection is super fun and colourful to have and great for this Summer. 

The rainbow confetti packaging are so lovely to look at, brightening my dresser and even brightens my day! For those who are always in nude or natural eye makeup, pairing these colours with your OOTD will definitely make your photos pop!

The lip glosses have a sheen of iridescence in them and the texture is creamy like mousse and opaque. They are not like the usual M.A.C Lipglasses that are just a sheer top coat and are not drying like those velvet lipsticks. Some of the colours do require a few swipes to get its full intensity, but what's fun is that you can mix them up, especially with the unconventional colours, to create new shades and even new flavours!

The Oh, Sweetie Lip Glosses are surprising long-wearing, yet not drying to the lips. They do leave some marks when drinking or kissing but there's still a stain of the colours left. It does take abit of effort to remove the lip glosses, you might need a dedicated lip makeup remover to do the job. Below is a first impression and review of the collection, alongside with the swatches of all 15 shades.

Summer Play With M.A.C x Steve J & Yoni P

After building so much hype, this June, we can finally see the launch of  M.A.C. x Steve J. & Yoni P. collection. It's nice to see more and more Asian collaborations and this K-wave collection is definitely for those who loves a natural look with a pop of colour.

For those who don’t already know, Steve J & Yoni P are a Korean design couple that are currently on the global fashion radar. They are known for their spunky yet sporty aesthetic that is streetwear ready with a dramatic touch.

And this collection makes good pairing with their fashion line. The packaging literally screams Yoni P in your face with her signature blonde locks and bold eyeliner look, it is plastered all over the boxes and even the products inside as well.

This new collection includes four lipsticks, two powder blushes, a potted eye gloss, a black mascara, two powder eyeshadow duos, a six-pan lip and cheek cream palette, a makeup bag and two brushes.

For me, I was aiming for the makeup bag, I find it as the highlight of the collection and I knew I had to get it, It makes a good storage for your makeup needs and also as a clutch bag for parties (why not right?); with a mirror within, you can easily touch up your makeup on the go.

Another product that is pocket worthy, would have to be the Yoni Attraction lip/cheek palette. 6 shades ranging from baby pink to bright corals and bubblegum pinks can be found all in one palette. The creamy opaque formula makes it easy to pick up and blend out, you can swipe and tap lightly on your cheeks for a flush of colour or use a lip brush for your lip shades, definitely travel friendly.

• Young at Heart Casual Colour – bright pink
• Weekend Getaway Casual Colour – cool rose

If you are not fans of the cream formula, there are also 2 powder blushers - Sugar or Syrup and Peony Petal that suit your warm or cool needs. They give your cheeks a subtle sheen of flush, pretty pigmented and blends out easily, but might seem a tad too light for those with darker skin tones.

Next are the eyeshadow duos. Nothing fancy, just 2 palettes that will work great for day and night looks. Touch Me Baby is a combo of Soba (soft brown with gold shimmer) and Keep on Twinkling (light frosted pink), whilst Midnight Fever features Let’s Boogie (black with sparkles) and Sparkling Moment (black with purple & red sparkles).

Soba makes a great contour crease shade, whilst Keep on Twinkling draws attention to your eyes as you blink. They are not too shiny and are great shades for a day look with black eyeliner.

Of course, the Dazzleshadow duo makes great night shades with Sparkling Moment all over lid and Let’s Boogie to contour or line the lashes. You can even spray on a little Fix+ for more intensity.

Lastly, are the lipsticks! 4 shades to match the eyeshadow duos for different looks, different occasions.  

They are opaque, full opacity with just a single swipe, moisturizing and fun shades to have this summer. Candy Yum Yum is a regular shade, but the cute packaging just gives you an excuse to buy another.

My favourite shade is A Killing Smile. It is a matte formula, but not drying at all. It is a very pretty crossover of red and coral, a special shade that you must have to add to your collections! Above is me wearing ths lipstick shade and swatches of others as below.

As for the eye gloss, I find it too close to the Brooke Candy collection, so I didn't get and didn't swatch; and the mascara is simply the Zoom Lash mascara in a different packaging. Be mindful though, it is not waterproof.

Overall Thoughts

If you a sucker for packaging (I know I am!) or M.A.C addict, go ahead and pick out a few of the items that you need. However, the range of colours are not as bold as the packaging, they are what I would call safe colours, that are good for natural day/night looks, which I guess guarantees fast sell-outs. I was also a little disappointed that there's a lack of eyeliner though, coz Yoni P definitely does her eyeliner on point, a black waterproof piece would be perfect to round off the collection eh?

I'll be sharing the extensive swatches from one of the collections - M.A.C Lipglass. Yes! M.A.C's hero product has gotten a new double wall vial look and new formula (jojoba oil to condition lips) for some of our favourite shades alongside new ones too. In total, 57 over the rainbow colours to match your every look and mood.

I was jumping straight into the display when I saw it in the middle of the store and was dying to hog them all the way home immediately! Can you imagine the infinity of lip colours you can come up with?! Sparkly light blue on top of jet black lips for a galaxy feel, Holographic lips for that Unicorn on you, or swipe a little orange or blue topcoat to brighten or darken that usual red lips! The list just goes on and on...

As much as I would like to get all the Lipglasses home, my wallet was not allowing me to. So I choose 3 shades that I can play with many other lip colours and also different from what other brands offer. 

I chose: 

• Gal Friday - A pearlescent shade that gives mermaid vibes
• New Galaxy - A soft blue grey sheer shade with rainbow glitter
• Yellow Jacket - A lime yellow sheer shade with light reflecting glitter

Staining My Lips With The New Peripera Peri's Ink Moist

Hi Huneybees,

Nothing beats a weekend break across the border to Johor Bahru. All I can say is that Singapore is too slow when it comes to stocking up for beauty brands and products. Do you know they already have a standing 3CE store in Komtar JBCC instead of the little counters at SEPHORA?!

Tsk tsk tsk, talk about efficiency. Even their Watsons has Physicians Formula, the MediHeal x LINE Friends Ampoule Masks and even their Korea Beauty sections were up to date! That's where I managed to get the PeriPera Peri's INK set!

Coming in a super bright and chirpy yellow tin box are 5 miniatures of Peri's Ink Moist. These are updates from their previous Peri's Ink and as shown in by their packaging, the latest one is a moisture liquid tint, compared to the previous jelly tint, that might have been said to be a little too drying.

Still coming in that for-show-only dropper bottle, the mini bottles does make it less bulky to bring around and it is still easy to apply even though the paddle applicator is shorter than the original size.

These lip stains glide on with a moist finish and stay put even after drinking and eating through the night. So your lips won't feel naked and you don't have to keep going to touch up your lips. It's like I have a lip colour for everyday and here's the swatches...

Aren't they just lovely shades? See after I wipe them off with tissue, the colours are still there with #4 Bang Rose being the long-standing one.

[What's New] Can't Wait For The Etude House Play 101 Pencil

As a kid, colour pencils are my best friends. I would make everything I draw come to life with colours and till today, they are my companions in my bag. What Etude House recently launched, would definitely let me renew that childhood feeling again by "painting" on my face! 

Under there Play series, you can find tons of nail polishes to create millions of nail art and now the Etude House Play 101 pencils in 50 different colors works wonders just like the nail polishes. They may look like eyeliner pencils for you, but in fact, they are plentiful of ways you can use them!

The Etude House Play 101 Pencil (0.5 g, 6,000 won) can be used as a concealer, highlighter, blush, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip liner, and lipstick. You might even be able to create an unique, new lipstick color by mixing three different colors with each other. It is like an artist's colour palette and your face is the canvas!

There are 5 kinds of pencils (see color of the words behind the number of the pencil):

• Creamy (yellow)
• Matte (blue)
• Glossy (orange)
• Shimmering (pink)
• Glitter (white)

So, Etude House has collaborated with Pony's Beauty Diary and  created 8 different looks that you can try with the Play 101 Pencils: Angel's Drop, Baby Doll, Mini Retro, Love Affair, Deep & Deep, Kiss of Fire, Queen of Queen, and Hey! Bad Girl.

[Tried & Tested] M.A.C. Presents ChenMan Love & Water

Hi Huneybees,

Chen Man (陳曼) the star of the Chinese fashion photography world, has come together to collaborate with M.A.C., a bold, sensual and lyrical colour collection. Totally inspired by the artist’s fascination with love and water (represented by the colours pink and blue), defining the moment while heralding the future, M·A·C Chenman defies the gaze to look away.

Amazing ad right? You just get super duper blown away by it!

The collection was launched in Singapore the same time as the SHOP M.A.C. collection. I didn't wana overbuy and start stocking up on products again, so I shopped in moderation. :)

So, here's my loot from the collection. Just got myself an eyeshadow pot (Supersweet) and a lipstick (Force of Love).

Eyeshadow - Supersweet

Supersweet is as its name, a yin ang yang mix of sweet pink eyeshadow and a brown eyeshadow. The colour's frosted and you can use it on top of a primer or even wet your brush before picking up the colours.

I'm never a fan of bold lipstick colours. All my life, I've only used a coral lipstick during the Katy Perry "I Kissed a Girl" time. So even my hubby was surprised when I chose to buy Force of Love. It's a really pretty coral pink lipstick and with natural eyeshadow colours, your lips will pop!

This is my take on ChenMan's collection using the eyeshadow and lipstick I bought. What you think of me in coloured lipstick? I think it's quite refreshing eh?
