How To Achieve Glass Skin With Problematic Skin?

The talk of the town these days is the K-beauty trend - Glass Skin. We are talking about achieving that perfectly smooth and intensely hydrated complexion with an all-over sheen, just like your window pane. It's a sign of healthy and youthfulness, which everyone is dying to have.

When I first saw pictures of the trend, I was thinking, "NO WAY! I have scars and acne, moreover with my eczema patch, there is no way I can achieve that look. Moreover, Singapore's sweltering hot weather will make me melt the moment I step out of the house!"

But being a beauty lover, how can I just give up that way? I tried ways and means to combine skincare with a little play-cheat makeup and I think I've got it. One thing I learned from this is that simply relying on makeup alone will not work, you need a consistent skincare routine, religiously following through with it and together with makeup, then you can show off your flawless skin. This is something that can't be achieved overnight, but patience my dears, in just days, you can see the difference!

Above is how I managed to achieve that Glass Skin look, I hope this helps you all with problematic skin troubles like me, in achieving that flawless looking skin. You can now cancel out those filter and beautifying effects on your smartphone cameras and app.

[Tried & Tested] Kanebo Steals

This has taken me very long to update. Wahahahahaha! I've already been using the products for a month already. They are my hauls from the Kanebo sale held at Cozycot. Check them out ~

Let me break them down and introduce bit by bit.

Makeup base and a limited edition eyeshadow palette.

As like the name suggests, makeup base is to be used before any makeup. What I normally do is to apply my moisturiser and then makeup base, then powder. KATE's makeup base is recommended as it has UV protection (thus minus the sunscreen) and it creates a smooth finish to my face. :)

This is a gold and black palette, with 2 different shimmers on the top left.

Here's how the shimmer works. After you apply your eyeshadow, you gently pat the shimmer on to brighten your eyes.
On the left is gold eyeshadow with gold shimmer and on the right is gold eyeshadow with silver shimmer.

Show ya how it looks when applied makeup using the both items eh?

The next item is the KATE face powder compact. I chose the OC-C, the lighter tone and it works prefectly for my skin colour. Not like most Japanese face powder that tends to be too fair, this one suits the Asian yellow tone me. And when I apply it after my makeup base. Flawless skin!

There's these 2 cream eyeshadow the I bought and have been using them everyday as my eyeshadow base/primer. The white brightens the eyeshadow that you apply above and the gold, gives the eyeshadow a hint of gold glow.

More eyeshadow palettes. I can't stop buying products for eye makeup! I just love colours!!!

This one's great for natural looking makeup. the 2 browns on the right are actually for defining eyebrows.

PINK! Very girly right? I thought I don't have this colour and it's on sale, might as well give it a try right?

It's not that scary. I love it!

And how can eye makeup be complete without eyeliner? I got 2 coloured gel liner and am using them everyday!

More eyeshadows from Coffret D'or. They're going for $5 each, how to resist right?

The nice ladies saw that I was so in love with the dark purple one, they gave me the sample, since the product was out of stock already.

Lunasol Watery Oil Cleansing

After all the makeup, here's something to remove it at the end of the day. Pump 3 pumps and spread it all over the face, massage it till all the impurities are out, then rinse with cold or lukewarm water. 

I find it super effective for removing most of the makeup, but for stuffs like waterproof mascara and eyeliner, it's pretty difficult, even when I used it concentrated with no water. But overall, I liked it, coz it's oil, so no hard rubbing, means lesser lines on my face!

[Tried & Tested] Kanebo's Freshel Moist Lift (BB Cream)

Hi guys,

I have recently received a tube of Kanebo's Freshel Moist Lift BB Cream, all thanks to Nuffnang!
So, here's the product:

 

A little details on the back.

As you can see, there's Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Silk Essence and Yeast Extract to soften and moisturise the skin, while working as sunscreen & tinted makeup base!

Upon opening the box, you will find this brown and gold luxurious looking tube, that reminds me of yummy chocs! And although it says 'Fragrance Free' on the back, there's is still a slight flowery smell, which kinda feels good when you apply.

The natural skin coloured cream matches my skin colour to the max and it glides on to skin easily and I can have even skin colour in minutes. And also the cream, covers my dullness and red spots pretty well. I didn't have to put on concealer to cover up after using the BB cream.

Here's how I look without makeup. (Be warned: Don't freak out)

After applying the cream, you can already see, much lighter skin colour around my eyes.

 

Here's how I look after applying face powder on top of the cream and finishing the look with simple eyeshadow shading and eyeliner.

My skin seems to glow from within and my skin is flawless!

I have been using the BB Cream for a couple of weeks now and my skin feels smoother and firmer than ever (you know, the 'du-ing, du-ing' feeling). It's amazing how 4 small dots of cream on my face can work wonders!
