Hi Huneybees,

Today is the last day to join the CP Singapore #CPCreativeGyoza Contest and I'm so glad hubby and I managed to get our recipes and videos done in time. Have you managed to share yours too? If you need a refresher on the terms & conditions, click here.

Contest or not, we also wana share these recipes with you Huneybees, so that you can prepare for your family to try. It's easy and we think gyoza fans of all ages will love them. There are 3 types of CP Gyoza sold in the supermarket (Pork and Chicken Gyoza with Chive, Pork and Chicken Gyoza with Suki Sauce and Chicken Gyoza) and we came up with 3 different recipes to pair with each "flavour".

I'm especially a fan of the Breaded Gyoza. You guys can try give them a try and let us know which one you like best.

For Breaded Gyoza, we used the Pork and Chicken Gyoza With Suki Sauce. It's crispy and crunchy, easily prepared within 3 steps and will make great party bites. You can view the recipe here - https://www.facebook.com/huney84/videos/10155264214216254/.

With Italian cuisine - Ravioli in mind, we paired the Pork and Chicken Gyoza with Chive together with Carbonara Sauce. For fans of spaghetti and also kids, this will be a mess free dish to prepare and enjoy. The recipe can be viewed here - https://www.facebook.com/huney84/videos/10155264218876254/.

A healthy and easy to prepare dish for all ages including kids and elderly using the Chicken Gyoza and Pumpkin. You can get all the nutrition within one dish and the recipe can be viewed here - https://www.facebook.com/huney84/videos/10155264222176254/.

Hope you have fun preparing these dishes and good luck to those who have joined the contest. 😉

2 Oishii New Local Delights At Ramen Kagetsu Arashi

Hi Huneybees,

If you are J-crazy like me and have an exquisite palette for Japanese food, you would be delighted to find the 2 new additions to Ramen Kagetsu Arashi an Oishii delight.

The Ginjiro Ramen ($13.90) was the star of the show. Being introduced to me as rich in collagen, I was literally diving into the bouncy noodles with the sweet broth. What makes the bowl of ramen that special has got to be the broth. You could taste the sweetness of pork and with the very unique dried bonito and kelp flavour, I couldn't stop drinking it.

I do like the softness of the Cha Siew pork slice, but I was a little disappointed to find hard boiled eggs instead of the Ajitsuke Tamago (soft boiled egg) which I always prefer. But as the soft boiled egg changes the ramen broth, the hard boiled egg was chosen instead.

Of course, if you insist to have the soft boiled egg, you could always order it on the side.

The black pepper is specially flown in from Japan and try the soy sauce made from Kagetsu Ramen's secret recipe. which has been passed down from generation to generation.
And along with the Ginjiro Ramen, you can have a few add-ons to go with it. One that I would recommend would be the freshly crushed garlic. It enhances the taste of the ramen, making it not as sweet, yet bringing out the strong flavour of the pork bone taste in the broth.

Another would be to have the special in-house seasoned chives prepared daily. It may be a little spicy, but it gives every bite a special kick and oomph, a total twist for your taste buds!

Next, we had the Itameshi Dry Curry Rice ($12.90). Though the sausage was not a big favourite of mine, I must say the thin butter slice and the unique curry sauce when blended together with the slightly scorched rice and egg, it was heaven in my mouth.

I'm always a fan of the crunchy slightly burnt rice and to my surprise, the curry sauce was a little peppery instead of the usual sweet curry. It's very much closer to the fried rice style we have at Zi Char stores, definitely a must-go-to dish.

We also got to try their Gyoza ($6.00). The best way to enjoy the Gyoza-s would be to dip them in a mixture of shoyu, white vinegar and chili oil (layu) together. Totally a highly rated sauce, but consistency in their Gyoza-s is a must.

The first batch of Gyoza-s we had were a little soft, not "burnt" enough on the skin and the filling was definitely more bland compared to the second serving.  I was not a big fan of it though...

Out of curiosity, I also tried the number 1 favorite seller in Japan’s Ramen Kagetsu Arashi -  the Arashi Genkotsu Ramen.
The Genkotsu Ramen soup had a strong garlic aftertaste, and was overly sweetened with onion. The broth is not as thick as the Ginjiro Ramen. so if  you prefer something light, you could give the Genkotsu Ramen a try...

Delicioso Sushi Burrito Here To Change Your Concept Of Fast Food

Hi Huneybees,

An experience in the USA led to Sherry Ang's ingenious mix of Mexican and Japanese to-go food joint. Seeming like an unlikely combination, the concept has given birth to a healthy choice of burrito compared to what she had experienced in Los Angeles.

Being a health buff, she thinks that there has to be a healthier version to the burrito that she tasted. With much research and discussion with her chef, she has included more vegetables, less oil as well as calculated every calorie that each burrito consist. One full roll of their Sushi Burrito is equivalent to one meal.

With its easy to handle packaging and fuss free way of eating, this would be one choice to have during lunch crunch time, snack while in cinema or even in Sherry's case, bring onto flight.

Almost similar to a handroll, these sushi burritos come in full or half rolls, so you can add a little fun to it, mix and match the flavours to your meal - A sheet of nori wrapping a thin layer of sushi rice, together with sashimi or cooked meat and a generous portion of crunchy vegetables and home-made sauce - all assembled freshly into a burrito-sized hand roll.

With so many selection to choose from, Huney'Z World has picked out 2 top favourite to share with you...

Yummy Belly

Being a beef lover, this naturally fell into my top list, but what's amazing is that this has the lowest calories out of all the burritos because it is pan fried. With the large amount of greens - lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green onions, spring onions and carrots, this dish is delightfully light and yummy! The special sauce makes it very refreshing and this is definitely a hidden gem in the menu.

Signature Fried Back Roll

This is a special one as instead of the nori wrap, there's this crunchy crumbs on the outside, wrapping all the ingredients within - crab meat, tamago, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, flying fish roe and cheese. The ingredients are simply oozing out of the burrito and it tasted so sweet, almost like having the whole Japan Sakura experience in your mouth!

Of course, there are also sides for you to go with your sushi burritos. Some to recommend would have to be the Shishamo Karaage, Gyoza, Forest Salad and Kawa Ebi Karaage With Garlic Chips.

Hubby and I loved the crispy mini Ebi and Garlic Chips. It such a nice snack, we couldn't stop chewing on it as we chat with Sherry. It goes so well with beer too!

Sushi Burrito is located at 100AM Shopping Mall, 01-06, 100 Tras Street and opens on Mon - Fri, 10am - 9.30pm (last order at 9pm).
