[Get The Look] Lily Cole x The Body Shop

Lily Cole, English model / actress / activist, who is remembered for her role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is now the first ever global brand advocate of "The Body Shop". She's refreshingly honest, human, and upfront about how she thinks the world could be a better place.

She's been busy promoting The Body Shop’s Beauty With Heart campaign that launched on May 15th with the tag line “Look good, feel good and do good” (the movement aims to inspire individuals and expand the boundaries of beauty). And today, I'm introducing the Cruelty Free Make-Up Collection which adheres to the brand’s firm policy against animal testing. It's also front by Lily Cole and I'm loving the pink spotted ladybug packaging already...

The packacing is beautiful, colours are sweet like Lily and there are several items that I already fell in love with when I received them...

Pearl Radiance Primer - The slight shimmer pearls in the tube, combined with the primer gives a really soft and glowy finish. Makeup stays much longer after using the primer.

Shimmer Cubes - A palette of four iridescent eyeshadows to mix and to match. They blend effortlessly and you can even pat on the intensity. Simply love the playful colours ( Think Pink, Live Lilac, Go Violet, Tint It Pink).

Liquid Eyeliner - complementing the Shimmer Cubes perfectly is this liquid eyeliner in violet, which gives a pretty, slightly metallic flash of colour to the eyes.

[Movie Review] Fright Night

Other than being at different events these few days, I was also at some movie premieres. Today, I wana talk about Fright Night! I know it's been on screen for awhile, but I know some of you have yet to watch. You can read about the synopsis and watch the trailer here.

I was there at the movie mainly for Colin Farrell. WHAT A HOTTIE! Been loving him since the day he acted as Bullseye in The Daredevil movie. And this time round, he is acting as a vampire! Immediately Edward Cullen came into my mind!

I would call this movie a thriller with little gore, there are times that got me jumping off my seat, screaming "WTF!", but mostly were predictable. Not sure is it because I've watched so many this kind of movie, I was in fact, laughing and smiling more, than getting afraid.

Why laugh? Coz there were cheesy times, and there was also times when Mirai (who sat next to me) was covering her eyes and that got me tickled pink. So guys, get the hint, bring a girl to the movie!

I wouldn't say the movie's got the best plot. Come on, hottie moves into your neighbour-hood, looking pale and devilish, wouldn't you realize something if wrong?

However, there are some concepts that was fresh, like the whole vampire image. I was going to the movies thinking that it's the same coloured contacts and 2 side fangs for the whole vampire look, but this movie proved not so. Don't go thinking all vampires are Twilight-ly pretty, vampires are still monsters afterall!

In fact, the picture I did using the FB app, would be a close image of what the vampires look like in the movie.

Ok! Enough of the ugliness. One other thing I was loving, was definitely the radiance of the female lead, Imogen Poots. She reminded me of Kate Winslet, Scarlett Johansson and Dakota Fanning.

Imogen Gay Poots (born 5 June 1989) is an English actress, best known for playing Tammy in the 2007 film 28 Weeks Later, Prue Sorenson in the 2010 remake of the controversial TV drama Bouquet of Barbed Wire and as Jean Ross in the BBC's Christopher and His Kind.

She was born in Hammersmith, London, England, the daughter of Fiona (née Goodall) and Trevor Poots, a TV producer. She attended the independent and selective Bute House Preparatory School for Girls in Brook Green, Queen's Gate School for Girls and London's Latymer Upper School, where she attained 3 A grades at A-Level.  (Ain't she a clever girl?!) She is a member of theYoung Blood Theatre Company.

She works as a model for Select Model Management and her first movie credit was as Young Valerie in the 2006 film V for Vendatta. Poots has also appeared in 2004 episode of Casualty, in Matt Day's short film, Wish and in the 2007 TV movie Miss Austen Regrets.

I would rate the movie a 3 out of 5 popcorns, given the fact that there are so much eye candy.

Guys who are trying to impress a girl, been trying to grab a hug, act hero, do bring your girls to this movie!

Fright Night (Movie)

Always been a fang-er (Quote: True Blood) like me? Loved watching "Interview With The Vampires", "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Blade" or even the latest heart-throb movie "Twilight"? Then you are in for a ride with the new movie "Fright Night".

All these years, vampires have been portrayed as pretty or handsome characters, the mere mortals or even audience like us fall heavily in love with their pale skin and lovely eyes. And this time, they got the sexy Irish actor, Colin Farrell to act in the vampire role of movie "Fright Night".

This is not a romantic chick flick, more of a thriller with a tinge of humour by Walt Disney. The story goes like this....

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice.

After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Sorry, but the bad news is that the movie will only be out 22nd September.

Fret not! You can know be your own vampire and give your friends a scare while waiting for the movie to be screened. I'll show ya how.

First step, you have to like their FB page here. Then, select the tab on the left labelled "Fright Your Friends".

You will then be directed to screen shots like the one above. After reading the instructions, you can select the photo that you wana use. I opted to take a whole new photo using my webcam. 

Feel free to try out different poses and different angles.

After you are done selecting the photo that you wana use, go ahead and be crazy using the tools on the left. Add coloured eyes, fangs, blood and gore to your photo. Adjust the colour of your photo of opt for a full black and white photo and when you are unhappy, simply click on the thrash bin to delete or simply start all over again.

Click done and you will be asked to submit/save/print the photo. The most important thing here is to click submit and tag as many friends as possible on your photo, so that they will create their own "Fright" photos too. The more "Fright" photos in your album, the higher chance of winning the complimentary passes and exclusive premiums.
