[What's New] Happy 10th Birthday SK-II Boutique Spa!

It was a joyous day as we celebrated the world's FIRST SK-II Boutique Spa by Senza Salus's 10th Anniversary. I was treated to a high tea session at their smashing new premises at the newly refurbished Shaw Centre, and don't these special "miracle"fruit juices just look adorbs?!

The new location boosts of a wider holistic experience with a lounge for reading or relaxation and 12 rooms for the SK-II spa treatments. Each bed in the rooms has down feather mattress together with Tempur pillows for the ultimate comfort. 

As mentioned by Mr Calvin Ng - MD of SK-II Boutique Spa, this is specifically designed to induce relaxation & reduce cortisol levels (stress hormones). When one is relax, their pores open up more and becomes more receptive of the products going onto their skin, therefore boosting of a much better effect after the spa sessions.

For the window side, blinds are installed for privacy and the mood lighting creates a better ambiance for the super stressed. There's even a vanity room for the ladies who want to touch up a little before heading out to shop at Orchard Road... :)

The highlight of the celebration was the portraiture photo exhibition of the loyal customers and staff, who has been with SK-II Boutique Spa since day one, dedicating to crystal clear complexions. The photos were shot by award-winning composer, music producer and passionate photographer - Mr Andrew Lum. 

It is interesting to hear their stories, seeing how their clients were introduced through word of mouth - some were brought into the dedication by their parents, whilst some were introduced by their spouse or friends. I must say, all I noticed was how everyone were glowing with radiance in the photos. *Envy~~~*

Before I left, I enjoyed a comfortable hand massage in one of the rooms. Guess typing and blogging has gotten me all tensed up and it was amazing how smooth my hand felt after that 10 mins massage. I NEED TO RELAX MORE!!! >.<|||

Get Healthy This 2014 With Absolute Juice

After so much partying last year, it's time to detox and be healthy this new year. The easiest way is to have fruits daily, but who has the time to cut up fruits and eat? The best way is of course fruit juice, but alot of stores out there uses the centrifugal juicer, which a fast-spinning metal blade that spins against a mesh filter, separating juice from flesh.

But the fast-spinning metal blades are also a problem. They generate heat and destroy some of the enzymes in the fruits and vegetables you're juicing. The heat also oxidizes those nutrients, rendering less nutritious juice than a cold-press juicer.

That is why I recommend Absolute Juice. They have the cold press juicer which is trending these days. It is known as the Masticating Juicers as well, coz it works by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables for the highest juice yield. As they don't produce as much heat, they keep most of the fresh ingredients' nutrients intact.

And because there’s no pulp, your body is able to easily assimilate the nutrients without the chore of digestion. 

I like how there's little fun in their menu and well, you can choose according to your needs or just have your usual mix of juices. Also, don't forget about the daily specials too!

Some juices that I tried that day was Absolute Green, De-Stress, Antioxidant Booster and Passionfruit with Pear. My favourite has got to be the De-Stress. As it's name suggests, it's a refreshing drink that reboots your system and I would recommend this as the lunch break and get you back on work!

Absolute Green - kale, apple, spinach, cucumber, celery and ginger. 

De-Stress - lemon, ginger and pineapple.

Antioxidant Booster - orange, lemon, carrot, beet root and pineapple.

Absolute Juice is only open from 10am to 3pm daily to cater to the business district office crowd, but you can always have them cater for your events. Don't forget to get their package when you are there, it is more economical! :)
