Sweet Festive Joy With Janice Wong This Jolly Season

This festive season is sweeter with Singapore’s culinary artist and multi-award-winning pastry chef - Janice Wong. Her latest collection - Christmas with Janice Wong features an exciting array of edible creations, including cakes, cookies, box sets, and hampers, just in time for the season of sharing and gifting.

The new Bean to Bar Advent Calendar (S$98), features 12 different Pure Imagination single-origin chocolate bars and the Box of 25 Advent Calendar (S$107) containing 25 pieces of chocolate Bon Bons in an assortment of divine flavours from the ChristmasSignature Singapore Series and Classic collections. 


Breaking through traditions, Janice Wong’s rendition of Christmas cakes breaks the mold in every detail, bringing a surprise to your Christmas gatherings. There's the white beret-inspired Santa Pom Pom Celebration Cake (S$88) is filled with cherry compote, cherry curd, vanilla chantilly mousse, cherry Champagne mousse, and Champagne mousse in a beetroot sponge. 


The eye-catching 3D Christmas Tree Praline Chocolate (S$228) consists of chocolate balls infused with praline, bringing joy to every bite. The little wrapped presents make it so precious to even bite into!

Of course, for those who want a little of everything, there are also miniature cakes - Pine Cone, Starry Night, Christmas Wreath, and Santa Hat (S$12 each).

Pine Cone is a deliciously chocolatey experience with just a little hint of Christmas spices, featuring layers of Chocolate Cake, Coffee Cremeux, Caramel Bavarois, and Gingerbread Chocolate Mousse. Starry Night is mousse cake with Pistachio sponge, Strawberry Mousse, White Wine Mousse, Raspberry Pink Pepperccorn Jelly and Vanilla Mousse. Christmas Wreath is a Double Chocolate Sponge cake, filled with Vanilla Ganache, Red Current Compote and Bailey's Mousse; whilst Santa Hat is a Pistachio sponge cake with Bergamot marcarpone, Mango Coulis, Raspberry Ruby Chocolate Mousse and Marshmallow.


Perfect for pick-me-up treats are the Christmas Edition Expression Series Pure Imagination Bean to Bar Chocolates (S$12 each) in seven flavours, such as 49% Laksa Leaf Lemongrass Milk Chocolate and 68% Peppermint.

Feast 2017 Away At Spice Brasserie (PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road)

It's the end of the year and it's definitely the time of the year where we meet up with our friends and relatives to do a little catch-up, and what better way to do that than to do it Singaporean style - Makan Feast!


Taking pride in the unique location in the heart of Little India, the hotel’s culinary team brings forth
Christmas with an Indian twist, presenting a Roasted Whole Turkey in Tandoori Style, paired with a
piquant Spicy Coconut Gravy, that’s sure to satiate taste buds hankering after something spicy in a
season often overwhelmed by sweet treats!


Of course, there's also the dishes that's on a more traditional Yuletide note like Roasted Whole Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Giblet Sauce and Cranberry Sauce or savoury carving dishes such as Honey Baked Ham with Pineapple Raisin Sauce (one of my must try!) and Crispy Pork Knuckle that promise to enrich any gathering with flavours of a most cozy, hearty Christmas.


For the seafood lovers, don't miss out on the cold food section where you can find fresh Holland Mussels, Oysters and Lobster Claws alongside the sashimi slices. And for something warm,  go on over to the chefs and order yourself the Claypot Pumpkin Crab and also pick up the Mango Lobster.




These 2 dishes had me going in for seconds and thirds. They are simply fresh and unable to find in other buffets out there. You have got to snag them fast coz they run out very fast...


Another recommended must try for me is also the Roasted Prime Beef with Black Pepper and Mushroom Sauce. I picked those that are cooked medium rare, paired with the specially made sauce, it was heaven in my mouth with that tenderness!


Yes! That's cake too!

Those with sweet-tooth, don't forget to end your buffet feast with their delectable choices of Christmas desserts. They have the standard Chocolate Log Cake, but what I love the most is the Christmas White Chocolate and Lemon Curd Log Cake for its zesty-sweet taste combination. Also, enjoy a nice warm serving of the Bread & Butter Pudding with Dried Cranberries. They have it nicely made, soft like marshmallow and not overly sweet.

Celebrate Christmas With Massive Oyster Festival

FOOD! It's Christmas time and I bet you guys are looking for places to and it's time for me to recommend some place new for you guys to dine in, gather and celebrate. And what better way than to enjoy long hours of eating and chatting?


Welcome to Momiji Japanese Buffet! Come into this little Japanese inspired haven, where momiji leaves lines the restaurant. 



In this Japanese marketplace, you can find an extensive selection of premium items such as sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, tempura, shabu-shabu, fry-to-order, yakitori, hot food, dessert and beverage counters, alongside the unlimited servings of Snow Crab legs, Haagen Dazs ice cream and free flow Sapporo beer (6:30-7:30pm daily, and 12:30pm-1:30pm for brunch buffet)!



From 19 December 2014 to 1st January 2015, Momiji has a Christmas Special menu serving Christmas dishes from Honey Glazed Turkey Ham with Mushroom Sauce, Turkey Breast Teppan Yaki, Turkey Ham Tempura with Nacho Cheese to Baked Salmon Lasagna. But that's for next month. Before the arrival of the Christmas promotion, those who love oysters are in for a treat. Momiji has extended their Oyster Festival till 31 Dec 2014. There are 7 different types of oysters to enjoy around the restaurant - Cold Oysters in three different flavours, Hot Plate Oyster, Miso Teppan Oyster, Oyster Lobster Mayo Yaki, Oyster Shabu Shabu & Panko Fried Oyster





Of course there's more food to go round, but my favourite is doing my very own dessert - WAFFLES! I made one for hubby and another for myself. Topped with the Haagen Dazs ice cream and chocolate drizzle from the chocolate fondue fountain, sweet to the heart. LOL!
