TVB artistes and local celebrities lighted up the "green" carpet last Saturday for the annual StarHub TVB Awards 2013. Organised by StarHub (VV Drama and E City) and co-organised by TVB, the annual StarHub TVB Awards Presentation honours the achievements of TVB artistes and productions in the past year.
一年一度的<<星和无线电视大奖>> 在上个星期六已举行。众星云集的 "绿" 地毯不只有本地的明星，也有受大家注目的 TVB 港星。林峯, 黃宗澤, 杨怡, 鍾嘉欣, 胡杏兒 的粉丝当晚都一饱眼福了。恩爱夫妻 - 三哥 （苗侨伟）也在地毯上和太太（戚美珍）牵手 "晒命"。。。
First up, were the hosts of the awards ceremony - 金刚 King Kong and 姚子羚 Elaine Yiu.
King Kong looked suave in his James Bond looking black and white suit while Elaine exuded classic elegance in her refreshing grey tonal gown. Both of them did not forget to add a little humour during their short interview.
When the boys from Ah Boys To Men 《新兵正传》 walked up, I was impressed that they actually came in suits, but then they simply lack the suaveness King Kong possessed, that sparkle that sets you apart from us commoners. Good effort on the boys, but maybe it will be better if they held their "Ah Beng-ness" back a little.

From the award winning 《ilo ilo 爸妈不在家》comes the director Anthony Chen and lead actress Yeo Yann Yann.
In a branded white suit, Anthony was definitely the Prince Charming melting the ladies hearts, while Yann Yann looked dazzling in her marine blue gown that was this season's best pick. You go Girl!
Our local boys, Kung Fu Supernova Singapore Representatives - 李志远 & Yap Zheng Yan 叶政言 as well as Singaporean songwriter, composer and music producer - Billy Koh 许环良 arrived in style with unconventional colours and accessories. Who says shades and sneakers are not allowed on red carpet? I simply like Zheng Yan's pairing of a grey vest under black suit with a bling-bling brooch.
Next up were the pretty babes from Lady First 《女人我最大》Singapore Edition . I had a fan girl moment, waving to the ladies, maybe coz I was involved in the programme. :X
Kanny Theng, Tay Kexin, Angel Yeung and Vee were the first 4 to walk in. They represented the petite ladies, but probably with the amount of advice given on the show, none of them looked short of anything!
The tall lanky ladies, Cheryl Wee, Silver Ang and Celyn Liew were all gorgeous and I specifically loved Silver's dress. She has nailed the season's favourite lace and against the yellow, she created a subtle peek-a-boo effect.
However, for Pauline Lan 蓝心湄, her dress was a little disappointing. Like the host pointed out, everyone expected her to show a little more flesh, and the grey dress was not doing any justice to her amazing body. I must say the shoes look amazing, but seriously, was it the long train from the dress or the stilettos hurting her? She didn't walk with any grace at all.
From the local production, That Girl In A Uniform 《我的朋友，我的同学，我爱过的一切》, comes Daren Tan, Hayley Woo, Kelvin Mun and Naomi Yeo. Everyone was looking good except for Hayley. The gaudy pink and blue chiffon material looks so haphazardly mixed, making her loo so much older than her own age. One would expect her to come in sweet heart shaped tube dress like Naomi's in sweet pastel pink or lavender. Definitely a no-no on my list.
Then in comes our favourite TVB artistes. To arrive first were the finalists of The Voice of the Stars 《星梦传奇》Law Kwan Moon 罗钧满, Grace Wong 王君馨, Corinna 陈明恩 and Yao Bin 姚兵. I super love Corinna's getup. Who says that you have to be in gowns for red carpet moments? A signature punk style jacket is all it needs!
Christine Kuo 苟芸慧 and Jason Chen 陳智燊 were up next. Jason charmed all of us with his sexy British accent while everyone were concerned and murmuring about Christine's poofy figure. I wouldn't say she is plus size but comparing her with the female stars to follow, she does look bigger.
In fact, I find it a healthier image, celebs don't have to be skinny and bony. She did mentioned that her weight gain was the result of being too stressed out from adapting to the cultural differences between Hong Kong and Canada, where she lived previously. All I can say is "You look great girl, don't get too stressed out!"
Dressed in maroon velvet blazer and leather pants, the muscular 40 inch chest - Him Law 羅仲謙, walked down the 'green' carpet with Mandy Wong 黃智雯 and Mag Lam 林欣彤 on each arm.
Mandy had a sexy yellow gown that were showing a little skin under the white lace. It was done tastefully and who said that you have to flash everything to be sexy?! She has been looking amazing ever since sporting a pixie cut and talking about pixie, the blonde songbird Mag was looking all sweet and pixie looking with her earthy toned cut out dress. The trio have definitely left an impression!
The latest on-screen couple - Linda Chung 鍾嘉欣 and Ruco Chan 陳展鵬 were seen both in white. Even though they said that it was not planned, I must say they did seem to have telepathy going on. Not only were they in white, both even had the lace, see through fabric too (Notice Ruco's shirt)!
Linda is also looking good on that day compared to when I saw her at
Mikimoto launch. She was so tired looking then. Just something I didn't like about her dressing that night, wouldn't it be better is she had a pair of nude coloured hot pants inside? The white one is so distracting...
Michelle Yim 米雪, has got to be my favourite for the night. A simple yellow gown with intricate embroidery and embellishment just made her shine, she didn't even need much accessories to go with it. Simply what I call effortless beauty. She is definitely 我心目中的王太后！
At 58, she has better figure and complexion than the ladies. Her regime is good food and exercise, not don't you all just wana get started on that?
Another couple walks down the red carpet in black. Myolie Wu 胡杏兒 and Kenneth Ma 马国明 with looked stunning in their black get ups. With draping sequins, Myolie showed a little peek-a-boo of her stomach and with Kenneth looking at her so lovingly, how can not one feel special?
The highlight for the night would have to be the special appearance of Micheal Miu 苗侨伟 and wife Jaime Chik 戚美珍. Both of them were spotted in suits which were so handsome. My favourite would have to be Michael's red detailing against his sleek black suit. Being a loving husband and looking this good at 55, no wonder, Jaime was all smiles that night when Michael held onto her hand in front of us.
Fans were almost losing their voices when another hot favourite couple walked in. Raymond Lam 林峯 & Kate Tsui 徐子珊 brought the hall to a thermometer bursting high especially with Kate's deadly black dress with a deep neckline. Everything looks dang fine for the couple except, why is Raymond spotting an Astroboy haircut???
And last but not least, were the trio - Bosco Wong 黃宗澤, Niki Chow 周丽淇 and Tavia Yeung 杨怡. Tavia in her baroque lace gown was glowing with smiles that night. Maybe Mrs Law is in the making? A lady in love is always exceptional.
Niki was another basking in love, and her neon orange nails against the grey gown was refreshingly bright. Both ladies chose to be in a darker shade while Bosco opted for pink. Maybe thinking he was the rose next to the leaves?
He was standing out alright, but definitely the wrong way. The hat was like he was covering up the fact that he's balding and the jacket! The Jacket! Was like "Ma! I can't find anything to wear to the awards ceremony!" So he goes ripping the curtains off with tassels intact!
I do love the shocking pink socks and shoes. They were the only well coordinated items on him, but when together with the rest of his getup, he was definitely out to get the worse dressed for the night!
