Without You - Goodbye Cory Monteith

GLEE would never be the same again without Finn. This is one drama that I follow religiously, sing, laugh and cry together with. Even my wedding march in song was "Marry You" from season 2! It's so sad to hear that Cory Montheith had passed away today. He is such a fine looking guy and so young!
Thank you Cory for "brightening" my TV screen. RIP Cory.

[Tried & Tested] Vancouver Hauls - Sally Hansen Salon Effects

Check out these nails!

You might think that I must have spent hundreds on getting my nails drawn with Black and White Houndstooth prints. But you are wrong. I got them done in just seconds and all thanks to Sally Hansen with their new range of "Real Nail Polish Strips". They are actually strips nail colour, that works with heat (from your hand) and the design I got is called "Check It Out".

Words can't describe the process of having the fab nails, so I've made a video. Yipee!

OK! So here's my take on the product. 

Pros: 

• Pretty nails in a jiffy.
• Simple and easy 3 steps to getting nails done
• No strong smell from nail polish. Great for people with asthma like me.
• No staining of nails (Hate those yellow nails!)
• No nail polishes required, not even base coat or top coat.

Cons:

• Not available in Singapore yet. Costs USD$9.00 from drugstore
• Minimal patterned strips, mostly just plain coloured strips
• Comes off after a short period, so you have to be careful when wearing them. Below is a picture of my nails after only 3 days. 

• Not sure is it just my nails, some strips seem to be too small to cover the sides of the nails, leaving my own nails "peeking" out from the sides.

Basically, I would say this is definitely one product for people who don't have the time to get their nails painted, don't know how to draw nail arts on their own or just that they have to get their nails done almost immediately just for the last minute date/party.

I strongly suggest that everyone should try it at least once, because it's really good and fast for city dwellers like us who are always shuffling from places to places. This can be done just when you are waiting for your facial mask to get absorbed!

I do hope to see these nail polish strips in stores in Singapore soon, shipping is such a killer!

[Tried & Tested] Vancouver Hauls - CoverGirl (Part 2)

Ta Da! Here's part 2 of the Cover Girl Haul. As I'm more focussed on my eye makeup, so I bought mainly eyeshadows, eyeliner and mascara. Didn't get their blush or lipsticks....

Ok enough of talking, let me start the ball rolling.

This is the Exact Hightlights Eye Brightening Shadow Palette (715 Majestic Hazels)

As seen on Jennifer on ANTM's Cycle 13 Commercial shoot.

The eyeshadow palette is said to be perfect to compliment girls with Hazel coloured eyes. The palette comes with four colours, Beige, Light Green, Taupe and Dark Brown. Not only was there a sponge applicator, there's also a brush for light sweeping of colours. I love that the sponge applicator has 2 different types. One side is flatter and rounder for bigger surface and the other end if slightly tapered and good for inner corner or smaller areas application.

The lovely people of CoverGirl even had detailed instruction on the back for best application of the eyeshadows.

I must say the colours definitely bring out my eyes very well.

Just a few strokes and I can call myself Cover Girl already!

So here's the other products. On left: Lash Blast Fusion (Volume + Length Mascara) and on right: Liquiline Blast Eyeliner Pencil.

I bought the blue eyeliner. It's not very obvious like in your face blue, but I love the effect.

Fluffy mascara brush volumise my lashes.

Just a little note.

Love how my lashes look so long and luscious. They curl automatically without a curler!

This is the Liquiline Blast Eyeliner. On one end is the pencil eyeliner and on the other end is the patent pending tip  that helps smudge the product to create a smokey line.

Here's an example.

I tried the product with the Smoky Shadow Blast (Silver Sky) that I introduced in the previous blog. I created a smokey eye look in just minutes with tese 2 amazing products.

It's a pity CoverGirl is not available here in Singapore, but if anyone is doing a spree for overseas Drugstores, please please please inform me? I would love to stock up on some.....

[Tried & Tested] Vancouver Hauls - CoverGirl (Part 1)

I bet this line: "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful CoverGirl" is nothing unfamiliar to you guys right? All thanks to America's Next Top Model, Cover Girl makeup has gotten the maximum exposure and it has got to me. Before heading to Vancouver, I've already did my research and decided on what I wana buy, but in fact, I got more than I should...


Let me introduce them one by one.

First up, Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Pressed Powder.

It comes with a puff and a mirror. Great for bringing out to touch up.

The age defying and Olay formula attracted me and I've heard so much about the powder being smooth, so I decided to get one for myself, but as you can see below, I chose a colour that was too light, I also look like I was on the set of TWILIGHT.

Other than my wrong choice of colour, I must say the powder did give a smooth finish, but it was too bland to cover up any flaws and I ended up slapping more concealer below, which made my overlook pretty cakey. But now I use this powder for highlights on my face.

So, the next day, I went to get another face powder to suit my face colour. This time, I chose 3 shades darker and prayed that the colour suits me. (Not sure why the London Drugstore had no sample for us to try out, so troublesome).

This powder is under the Clean series, which is good for people with sensitive skin and boy I was glad this powder was for my skin colour! Similar to the other powder, the casing comes with a mirror and puff for easy touch ups. This powder not only gives my face a smooth finish, it works perfect for our weather and gives maximum coverage on my spots and dark circles.

Next up, Smoky Shadow Blast (Silver Sky)

It's a cream base eyshadow and Cover Girl has made it like a markers for super fast and easy eye makeup.

Step 1 is the rounded end (Silver) and Step 2 is the tapered end (Purple).

Here's the instruction on the back of the packaging.

And I tested the method out on my hand before I proceed. It's a very pretty shiny purple colour which I think is great for both day and night makeup.

See what I mean? You can look professionally made up in just seconds.

One thing I didn't really like was that the cream base eyeshadow crease up pretty easily and the makeup kinda 'disintegrates' in our warm weather in just minutes. So I had to pat on a light silver eyeshadow to make  it stay on longer. Just didn't like the creasing much....

I've been trying to get my hands on the Tokidoki cosmetics at the local Sephora but it was swept up within hours. It got me sulking for months and can you guess my super excitement when I saw this booth at Vancouver's Sephora?!

I already bought a super lot of things for myself and when I saw this palette, I couldn't bear to let go. I wanted to buy them all, but budget was tight and this palette was bought after a long time "begging" my hubby to get for me...

Cute right?!

It's a sailor/underwater theme, so you can find characters chilling at the beach, shades, sharks, beach girls, etc on the palette.

Even the pouch is transparent blue, so beach ready right?!

Ta Da! It's like watching a theater show.

Like all Tokidoki palettes, a zipper toy is included in the middle and this one comes with Devil Girl listening to her iPod? :)

The Tokidoki Devil Girl Cromatico Palette comes with six eyeshadows: Thirsty (cream), Riposino (Shimmery light brown with glitter), Bulleto (shimmery dark brown), Nancy Rocks (Shimmery Purple), Bruttino (Pearl Turquoise), and Carina (Pearl white).

 I know alot of you would love the left side (brown) of the palette but for me, it's definitely Nancy Rocks and Bruttino that caught my eyes. Come on! Huney is known for her colourful eyes!

In fact, in my mind now is maybe I should bring this palette along for Simone to sign at STGCC this August? I think I'll do just that!
