Let's Vote For TK Jiang To Win Asia's Got Talent

It was a great start to the weekend when hubby and I went to a special and intimate AXN session at the Screening Room. We managed to watch the performances on Thursday's episode of Semi Finals ahead of Asia and the highlight was to catch TK Jiang performing live right before our eyes!

Every week, we catch the episodes of Asia's Got Talent, get ourselves awed by the performances and what wonderful we humans can do; that and also for me to check out the cute judge Jay Park, who's tempting me to dye my hair red...

Last week, when he gave his first Golden Buzzer to our very own home grown - TK Jiang, digital magician. We were jumping in our seats and cheering on for this Singaporean entertainer, hoping to see more of his tricks and never did we imagine actually meeting TK himself the week after!

He was very charming and friendly, when he approached both me and hubby, impressively calling out our names (someone has done his homework eh?), as he introduced himself and have a short little chat with us.

Through the many seasons of AGT, we have seen so many magic performances, but digital magic is something new that relates with our new technology age. TK Jiang had been a fan of magic since young and it was kinda blessing in disgust when his house was caught on fire. Losing everything made him reinvent and do magic with just his smartphone and laptop, thus digital magic.


It's a very fresh take on magic, especially having TK Jiang performing just steps away from us. We couldn't spot any flaws or as he taught "flashed" us anything that could give his performance away. But what he did onstage on Thursday's episode with his adorable girlfriend truly blew us away (see video above). He truly lived up to the Golden Buzzer bestowed to him and I can't wait to see what else is up his sleeves as he gets his shot at the USD100,000 grand prize and the winning title!

There are also other acts that we loved too, like the Hanoi X Girls, Yang Shih Hao and Power Duo. They come in pretty strong up against TK Jiang, so if you are a fellow Singaporean and a fan of his magic performances, vote in early so that he can get ahead of his competitors! As a starter, the hosts this season are Alan Wong (Actor/Model/Host) and Justin Bratton (TV Host/Actor/Film-maker). They are both great personalities, embodying charisma and being best buddies, I bet this duo will bring fun to the stage hosting.

Another change to this season show is that we will be seeing just 3 judges instead for 4.
While this may sound like we are gonna see less judges drama with the exit of Melanie C and Vanness Wu, leaving David Foster and Anggun as the 2 remaining judges from the first season, I bet the new judge addition of Jay Park will more than fill up that void and bring in more Hallyu flavour to the show.

Jay, an award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and savvy entrepreneur, CEO and founder of two successful record labels, will take the coveted hot seat alongside the show’s returning judges, the 16-time Grammy Award-winning music producer David Foster and internationally acclaimed singer and World Music Award winner Anggun. At the press con, we were also treated to an act by The Cazaubon Sisters (duet by young Singaporean sisters Ariane, aged 12, and Anne-Sophie Cazaubon, aged 10). They are one of the impressive acts during the recent auditions in Singapore and were invited to sing at the media conference, as a sneak peep into what we could expect on the reality show.

Both of them are currently singing with the Singapore Children's Choir and had started singing at the tender age of two, aspiring to be world-class singers since then. I can't wait to see what the the girls will bring on stage soon!

Jay Park Live In Singapore Concert

Last night, Jay Park held his concert at The Star Performance Arts Centre.  Other than his catchy songs and amazing vocals, his charms and dance skills woo-ed the audience. 

Jay Park performed his hot hits like "Nothin' On You" and "Abandon",  definitely non stop action on the stage and screams from the audience were deafening...  

And finally, we got to see his tattoos when he changed to a sleeveless top. Amazing night Jay Park! Do come back soon!

Jay Park Live In Singapore - Press Conference

Jay Park will be performing Live in concert tonight and yesterday I was at his Press Conference that was held in Butter Factory.

Dressed in a suit of denim and simply grey t-shirt, the Korean hearthrob humbly walked to the stage and began his interview. He answered the questions with ease, but while he was interviewed, he displayed shyness too...

A member of b-boy group AOM (Art of Movement) and former charismatic leader of Korean pop group <2PM>, Jay Park has previously performed in Singapore in small-scale showcases, but this performance is a 1.5 hour concert.

About Jay Park

Jay Park debuted on the M.net program “Hot Blood Men” where he received a lot of attention for his good looks. His fan base grew sizably during his days with <2PM>.

In March 2010, Jay Park uploaded a cover video of B.oB’s <Nothin’ on You> on his YouTube Channel which recorded more that 1.5 million views within the first day. Warner Music Korea soon released a Jay Park version of that song, which topped the Korean music charts.

Jay Park’s first mini-album <Take a Deeper Look> was released in April 2011 and his first full-length album <New Breed> was released on February 2012 with the lead single <Know your Name>. His awards include Naver Most Popular Search’s Male Solo Award (Korea, 2010), Mashable Awards’ Best Web Video (USA, 2011), Golden Disk Awards’ Record of the Year.

Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber, Jay Park, KARA and others LIVE at MTV World Stage, Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia

The MTV World Stage LIVE in Malaysia 2012 is merely minutes away!
The show is scheduled to start at 6.15pm (+8GMT) on 14th July (Saturday) at Sunway Lagoon, with Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber doing the opening!!

Other big stars line-up include Korean superstar Jay Park, mesmerizing girl group KARA and Malaysia’s very own pop princess Mizz Nina, all will be performing live at MTV World Stage Malaysia 2012. 

For those of us who do not have the ticket to the show, the show will also be produced into a two-hour TV show premiering on MTV (Astro channel 713) on July 28 at 2.30pm (+8GMT).

An hour-long version will also be broadcast later in the year via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels in over 150 territories, reaching over 600 million households.

Last but not least, Jay Park will hold an autograph session at Speedy @ Sunway Pyramid at 3pm on July 15 (Sunday) in conjunction with the release of his New Breed Repackaged album!
