We have first seen her works on the runway of  FIDé Fashion Week here in Singapore and making a big name when Rihanna donned on her stunning royal gold gown on the Met Gala red carpet and now, in a few hours time, we will be able to get our hands on her highly anticipated makeup collection in collaboration with M.A.C Cosmetics.

YES! I'm talking about GUO PEI! This talented couturier from China has collaborated with my favourite makeup brand - M.A.C Cosmetics to present a luxurious collection of products that reflects her collection - “garden of the soul”.

Monitors User Activity

The WATCH is packed with sensors: the heart-rate monitor is embedded discretely on the underside of the watch face; there’s also an accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter and e-compass. The WATCH also allows users to track their sleep cycle, distance covered, steps taken and calories burned. To monitor their fitness goals, users can access the activity overview that the WATCH offers.

Multimedia Remote Control and Phone Notifications

When the smartwatch is connected to a smartphone, it sends users call notifications; social media updates and vibrates if users stray too far from their phones. Touching the WATCH’s screen activates a multimedia remote control. Users can control music, take pictures from their phone from a distance or make their phone ring in order to locate it.

French Haute Couturiers Heat Up FIDé Fashion Weeks 2013

*This is a repost of my scheduled post. It got lost in translation when I was in NZ*

Tracing back to FIDé Fashion Weeks on the all French Haute Couturier night, everyone was treated to 3 collections of high fashion, custom fitted clothings that exuded all kinds of luxury and fine taste.

The first to present that night was French Haute Couturier Alexis Mabille, showcasing his A/W 2013/14 collection. The collection has the mood, colour palette and silhouettes inspired by Giovanni Boldini - an Italian genre and portrait painter. 

Dark lighting with washed hues of dove grey, faded pink and mint and touches of gold and silver set the stage and Alexis created movement in his gowns through the use of shapes and volumes and not forgetting his signature bow motif applied on almost every ensemble. It was as though looking at pieces of frames art walking right to our faces. Simply beautiful and flattering for very model.

The second to show was from On Aura Tout Vu by Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov. 

The show was different from the usual as they decided to switch it up by showing part of their A/W 14 collection in the beginning and part of their S/S 13 collection for the second half. So the audience got to see the ‘dark’ before transiting into ‘light’. 

The highlight would have to be the shimmery "beetle" dresses. Beetle wings were cleverly attached to create shapes and forms while plexiglass were specially cut out to create the ‘cerebral’ and ‘skeletal’ connectors of the human mind and body and attached to the outfits. Who knew the Scarab Beetles from "The Mummy" movie could be so sexy hot!

Most well-known for their stunning jewellery pieces, the On Aura Tout Vu show was a particularly interesting one as clothes took the limelight with crystals taking a backseat. Adding a little more style and "OMPH" than the usual haute couture floor dragging gowns...

The show ended with Emily Hwang walking down the runway in the beautiful white gown by On On Aura Tout Vu and we caught Jeannie Mai interviewing the couple after the show...

Closing the nightwas Julien Fournié. I was super excited to see this collection as I have seen it on production back when I was in Paris (see the post here), but due to the super dark lighting, quite a bit of details were lost if you weren't upclose to the models. I have tried to lighten the photos here, so hopefully you can see as much details as possible...

As a recognised invited member of the La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Julien Fournié has worked with brands such as Celine and Jean Paul Gaultier. Showing 22 looks, his silhouette is that of an elongated feminine form, very much inspired by the Italian painter and sculptor, Modigliani, it is also to depict the mythical animal, Chimera.

Colours run the gamut of chocolates, inspired by the palette of Austrian symbolist painter, Gustav Klimt. He showed sinuous silhouettes and exaggerated the elongation with sky-high stilettos by Walter Steiger, strategically-placed crystals, leather strips, fur trims and hand-painted prints by his good friend, artist Anbraude. It is an all new collection, a darker side of Julien, very much different from the collection he showcased last year with all the disco fun.
