Consentino - Australia’s most successful magician, illusionist, and escape artist, is coming back to Singapore from 24 August to 3 September 2023 at Sands Theatre. Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the leading live entertainment company in Asia Pacific and exclusive manager of Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands, Cosentino: Decennium - The Greatest Live Magic Show will celebrate his 10 years of global success.

In the 10 years since Cosentino became an overnight sensation on Australia’s Got Talent, he has gone on to become a genuine superstar on the global stage. I watched his performance up front back in 2017 and it was spectacular. Every performance was flawless and with that element of danger and surprise, he had the audience gaping in awe. Now that he is back, I would say, do not miss.

Decennium is a 90-minute stage spectacular, which was written, produced, and choreographed by

Cosentino himself with memorable acts like Stabbed, Stranger Things, and Flaming Jaws. One that had an impression on me was Flaming Jaws.

Cosentino was the 1st in the world to do this demonstration and the pioneer of the escape. ‘Flaming Jaws' takes death-defying escapes to a whole new level where Cosentino is placed and shackled inside a regulation straitjacket, then attached upside down by his ankle's underneath to the Jaws and hoisted into the air. The enormous set of steel jaws is held open by a single rope and set alight. Once the rope snaps the the steel jaws will come crashing down destroying anything or anyone that gets in its path.

Cosentino is now in a race to save his own life, he has 90 seconds to successfully escape the straitjacket,

release himself from the burning rope and drop to the ground before the crushing force of the

sharp-teethed jaws come crashing together in the ultimate climax.

Looking Forward To A Brand-New Fun This Summer At Hong Kong Disneyland Resort!

If you are as passionate as yours truly Queen Bee and me about the world of Disney cartoons and its characters, you must check out the “Carnivale of Stars” at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL), happening from 21st June through 2nd September 2018!

With air tickets purchased and luggage packed, we are so looking forward to chill out with Moana, Mickey and other Disney friends while experiencing a rich line-up of excitement day and night, like the all-new atmosphere stage show “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration,” the “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show, and a new African-style Karibuni Marketplace.

On top of our to-do list shall be the live “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” atmosphere stage show, which has just been launched and is the first attraction of the resort’s current multi-year expansion. The show will include an entirely new exotic outdoor venue, Jungle Junction, in Adventureland, the storytelling of Moana's oceanic voyages, as well as an opportunity to meet-and-greets with Moana in person!

With the debut of Karibuni Marketplace, we are hoping to immerse ourselves in the lively colors, sights and sounds of Africa, enjoy special snacks and meet with beloved Disney characters including Carl and Russell from Up, Judy and Nick from Zootopia, King Louie and Baloo from The Jungle Book, Rafiki and Timon from The Lion King, Princess Jasmine and Genie from Aladdin and Lilo and Stitch!

The cute Cookie is the latest additional to Duffy and Friends at HongKong Disneyland Resort!

Not forgetting the all-new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show where Minnie Mouse and her pals are inviting Huneybees to a surprise party for Mickey Mouse as part of Disney’s all-new “We Love Mickey!” Projection Show each evening.

Other key highlights at the Carnivale of Stars include the first-ever “Pixar Water Play Street Party!” and meet The Incredibles! where Huneybees can join Mr. and Mrs. Incredible from The Incredibles; Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their pals from Toy Story, along with other Disney∙Pixar stars in this water soaking celebration.

Football Gets A Whole New Attitude As LFL (Legends Football League) Lands In Singapore

KIX, the ultimate channel for action entertainment in Asia, will premiere the United States (US) games of LFL (Legends Football League) first and exclusively starting from April 28. To celebrate the launch of LFL USA, KIX brought three professional American football star players, LizGorman, Angela Rypien and Natalie Jahnke, who showed off their American football skills to viewers in Singapore as they promoted the series.

 

Since its premiere in 2009, LFL has been touted as the ‘fastest growing pro sports league in the United States’ by NBC Sports and has drawn record television ratings for its U.S. broadcaster. The athletes, dressed in their lingerie-inspired uniform tops and bottoms, along with customised helmet and shoulder pads, have played to sold-out crowds across America. The 12 US franchises include teams such as the three-time champion, Los Angeles Temptation and the, Las Vegas Sin and Atlanta Steam, all of whom have built an incredible international fan base.

 

So, the three players – Liz Gorman and Natalie Jahnke from LA Temptation and Angela Rypien from Baltimore Charm – travelled to different Asian cities. The Asian Tour kicked off in Bali and Jakarta, and then in Singapore, where they made a special appearance at a mall event which was held at Bugis Junction mall.

Decked in their lingerie-inspired football gear, the LFL players showed off their American football skills, speed and tackling strengths, and interacted with the public through stage games and promotional activities. One of the stage games saw Liz, Angela and Natalie demonstrate various football positions and members of the audience matching the exact position that was called out. The winners each walked away with a limited edition autographed Legends Football League American Football and participants each took home a goodie bag.

LFL (Legends Football League) USA will be shown exclusively every Sunday at 10.30pm on action channel KIX (StarHub Cable TV Channel 518) starting from April 28, and on KIX HD On Demand (SingTel mioTV Channel 308) from May.

John Travolta in Singapore to unveil BREITLING Navitimer Blue Sky

OMG! Hollywood actor (famous for GREASE) and aviator was in Singapore! He was here to unveil BREITLING Navitimer Blue Sky yesterday afternoon at the Swissotel as BREITLING's global ambassador.

More than 60 local and regional media attended the launch event which also marks the 60th anniversary of the Navitimer, which is the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production.

The BREITLING Navitimer Blue Sky is a limited edition timepiece and just 500 pieces will be manufactured worldwide. In Singapore, only 9 pieces have been allocated. *Wow! =OoO=  *

Ferrari Party @ MEMA - Touring the Museum

Hi Huneybees,

F1 season just passed Singapore a couple of weeks ago. Mine kick started with me winning the invitations to the Ferrari Party @ Maritime Experiential Museum & Aquarium (MEMA). I was the first few to experience the museum and also catch a glimpse of the F1 racers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

All dressed up.

Of course I had my hubby with me on that wonderful night. We got to capture photos of the gorgeous race girls, posed with the life-sized model of Ferrari race cars and most of all, toured the Museum before they open their doors on the 15th October.

We arrived on ground level and spotted Universal Studios and MEMA is on the other end, near the Candylicious store. We crossed the little bridge and see what greeted us!

After some refreshment and nuts, we decided to tour the museum...

MEMA is about experiencing the Silk Route, making history interactive, not just textbooks, photos and words. Stepping into the Museum is like embarking on an adventure. Let me introduce them one by one to you.

The Mighty Bao Chuan

Standing right in the middle of the museum is the full sized replica of the bow of Admiral Zheng He's treasure ship (Bao Chuan) to greet the guests. Learn about Admiral Zheng He's voyages from China to the Western Ocean and his mighty fleet during the 15th Century.

Guests can sit right before the  bow to watch an introductory animated video of his journeys before heading off deeper into the museum.

This is what they visualized the back of Bao Chuan would look like... Reminded me simply too much of Noah's Ark.

Souk Gallery

Here, vistors will be able to learn about some of the goods that mariners like Zheng He traded and collected along the Maritime Silk Route, including ceramics, musical instruments, arts and crafts, fabrics and jewelry. The Gallery was very informative and we got to learn how cultures were shared and what each country was specialty was. Along the way, we had very friendly staff to explain every details to us....

First stop, Quan Zhou. We saw some of the items sailors used in China. Food and opera was the entertainment then.

Then, we stepped into Qui Nhon (Vietnam)

Then a interactive trading game at Palenmbang

Coins displayed at the Malacca shows the Chinese influence there....

At Galle, one would learn about the great travellers and their travels: Faxian, Marco Polo, Ibn Battuta and Zheng He

I stood right next to Zheng He that night.

Of course there has got to be a snake charmer at Calicut, India!

Spices anyone?

Fragrance lamps hang right above our heads at Hormuz.

 

Persian shoes remind me of Sex And The City 2. On the right shows the weaving machine that's used to create Persian Carpets.

Right! Malindi, Africa.

The Jewel of Muscat

 The Jewel of Muscat, is a replica of a 9th Century Arab dhow. Be awed and learn about its reconstruction and its historic voyage from Oman to Singapore.

It is a gift from the Sultanate of Oman to the Government and People of the Republic of Singapore. It has sailed in sea for 68 days, covering 3580 nautical miles to Singapore and is now housed permanently at MEMA.

Totally built using 9th century Arab shipbuilding methods without using nails or screws, but with Coconut Fibers, the dhow stands 18 meters long and 6 meters wide. The main sails were handmade from canvas linen and secondary sails made of palm leaves.

See the little bucket on the bottom right? That's where the sailors poop!

We crossed this barricade and we were brought into another world.

Typhoon Theatre

Experience the wrath of the sea in the Typhoon Theatre, a 360 degree multimedia theatre that takes visitor on a perilous voyage on board a 9th century Chinese junk. Laden with cargo, the ship runs into a storm. The sea roars, the skies darkens and the ship rolls, pitches, turns and finally sinks. At the end, the ship's passengers find themselves in the depths of the ocean, up close with the shipwreck. Totally a 4D experience ride...

That's where we are going....

Then, there was this other attraction that we didn't get to experience that day. But I guess when the museum is opened on 15th Oct, visitors can hop right on...

Historic Ships

Look out for the five life-size replicas of Historic Ships berthed at the Museum's Harbors where visitors can go on board to experience how life on deck was like. Consisting of a Chinese junk, an Indian dhow, a Javanese jong, an Indonesian borobudur, and a South China Seas trading vessel, these ships bring to life the experience of ancient seafaring ways by allowing visitors on board, further enhancing the 'maritime' experience.
