Sadness Overflow From Fans As Future Music Festival Asia's Appeal For Permit Denied

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Guess it's sadness now that they appeal to have Future Music Festival Asia 2015 (FMFA15) here in Singapore was unsuccessful. My hopes of seeing and hearing The Prodigy and AVICII Live is shattered!

Why?! Why?! Why do drugs when you can enjoy music and dance the night away?!

Because of all these bad past, Singapore has been denied to having a blast?! I was still hoping that the party would still be allowed. Well, now we can only see what other alternatives Lifescape Singapore has installed for us...

Here's the statement I was sent regarding the non-issuance of permit for Future Music Festival Asia 2015:

We are extremely disappointed that our appeal to the Ministry of Home Affairs to organise Future Music Festival Asia 2015 (FMFA15) in Singapore has been unsuccessful. We can confirm that we have received the official rejection of our appeal.
FMFA firmly stands behind our goal of creating a drug-free event for our festival goers to enjoy. Despite having put in place a robust event, security, safety and medical management plan which has been developed alongside both local and international experts with a combined 50 years of experience in running similar large-scale events, our Public Entertainment License has not been granted. The plans that have been developed far exceeds international standards.

We emphasise that the safety and security of our festival goers are of utmost importance and will continue to be our number one priority. Regarding concerns the authorities may have about the drug-related incidents that took place in Malaysia last year, we reiterate that these were isolated incidents that took place outside Singapore, which cannot and do not carry any implication that FMFA is linked to drug use or drug abuse.

In light of this development, we are assessing all options and formulating our next course of action. Full details of this will be made available over the next few days.

To the fans there are no words in this world that can describe our eternal gratitude to you. We called, and you answered. Your response to #KeepFMFAAlive has brought tears to all of us at FMFA. We are humbled, and we are grateful.

In the last 48 hours you showed the world that music truly unites. Music has the ability to unite people from across different cultures, background and races. Music has the ability to forge unity, friendship and love. Music itself is noble. Music can be a change for good. And over the past 48 hours you have been a living testament to that very belief. We are doing everything we can to work out a viable solution to this issue. --- Livescape Singapore Pte Ltd

[Sponsored Post] Life Does Not Rewind

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Drugs have always been known to be dangerous and harmful to us all and to raise awareness to the youths, NCADA and CNB has recently launched their first Anti-Drug Online Gaming Challenge on Facebook. Through gaming, not only does one get to have fun, he/she also get to learn how to combat drug abuse.

Bloggers present that day.
I was invited to the media release of the games to understand more to share with you guys. We were addressed by NCADA Chairman, Dr. N Varaprasad.

"Our youths are spending many hours online every day, especially on games and social media sites such as Facebook. We want to be where they are, and leverage on these platforms to drive home the anti-drug messages." -- Dr. N Varaprasad
The challenge comprises of 4 categories - secondary, tertiary, non-students 25 and under, and the social media sharing (where the best entry of the week shared on Twitter or blogs about the challenge wins). Participants stand a chance to win attractive prizes including Resorts World Sentosa gift vouches which can be used to purchase Universal Studios Singapore entry passes, iFly tickets and Sentosa adventure park super combo packages. The top scorer for each game will also walk away with an iPad2.

Presentation by Seow Khim Guan Alvin
The games can be found at Life Does Not Rewind Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lifedoesnotrewind) and has already launched 2 games since December 2011. Today, I wana share with you the 3rd game - Escape From Drugs Land.

Team E.L.A.
Escape From Drugs Land is created by Team E.L.A. from ITE College Central (First runner-up of the Flash Games Competition held last year) is an online board game combining elements of quizzes, mini-games, puzzles and action games to help players learn and understand the irreversible effects of drug abuse and the consequences they need to face if they take drugs,

The team believes in creating social games with simple game play that appeal to everyone. They love a game of snake & ladder and decided to bring the popular board game online.

Trying out the game.
Review:
The game is simple to understand and easy to play. It's a combination of monopoly and snake & ladder where one has to answer questions to either move forward when answered correctly or step back when you answer wrongly.

Whilst playing, I also got to learn lots of facts like: "Methamphetamine has a very strong effect on the central nervous system and is highly addictive." and " The penalty for possession or consumption of Cocaine in Singapore is up to 10 years of imprisonment or S$20,000 fine or BOTH".

These facts helps best when I fall into the Trivia spots. Clever execution on educating the public on drug abuse whilst having fun. It's very addictive and I kept playing trying to beat my own score. One way to finish fastest is to answer all the questions correctly ~

So why wait? Hurry over to the Life Does Not Rewind Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lifedoesnotrewind) to learn how to combat drug abuse and win yourself something!
