Celebrate Chinese New Year with Panoramic Views of Marina Bay at Artemis Grill

Hi Huneybees,

Usher in the Year of Dragon with a mix of modern with traditional at Artemis Grill, a sky-high dining concept on the 40th floor of CBD’s CapitaGreen building. Their
Chinese New Year Lo Hei experience is available from 22nd January - to 24th February for lunch and dinner.

One of their seasoned team members will guide you through your Yusheng Prosperity Toss experience. Each set includes Salmon and Ikura Caviar to be tossed with pickled wakame, red cabbage, carrot, sesame, peanut, daikon radish, and tapioca cracker, topped with gold leaf - with the choice to upgrade to include Hamachi & Hokkaido Scallop.

Artemis Lo Hei must be pre-ordered with 24-hour notice, and you may choose from below:
 • SILVER SET with Salmon & Ikura Caviar $68++ (serves 3-4)
 • GOLD SET with Hamachi, Hokkaido Scallop, Salmon & Ikura Caviar $148++ (serves 5-8)
*Optional add on: 30g tin of Kaluga Caviar $158++

Kaluga caviar is a luxurious delicacy considered by many to be the "River Beluga" due to its exquisite taste and rarity. It boasts a complex and nuanced flavor profile with a buttery base-like flavor with earthy, nutty, and slightly salty notes, culminating in a smooth & elegant finish. Unlike its endangered Beluga cousin, Kaluga sturgeon is farmed responsibly, making it a more ethical choice for caviar connoisseurs.

Chillax & Enjoy Good Food With The Self-Service Ordering System At Fiv五 Square

Hi Huneybees,

It's time for another mouth watering post in prep for celebration! If you work in the CBD, you might have seen Fiv五 Square as 1 Pickering Street (Great Eastern Building). It is smacked right at the junction opposite Hong Lim Park and what I always thought was a pub seemed to have a little surprise within!

Upping the level of food court fare and marrying it with an affordable drinks bar and technology, this is a must-go place for the after-office crowd to wind down after a stressful day at work. You can find food from local flavours to western, Japanese, Korean to even Spanish dishes, all ready to cater to the CBD working executives with quick-serves and takeaways using a self-service ordering system.

Stepping into this huge food hall which can seat 300, I'm all ready to loosen that tie and chill out in this soft, warm lighting in natural wood. Those wagon chairs are a top favourite with the crowd as it makes a good backdrop for selfies...

So, on to their highlight - the self-service ordering system. It is very easy with 2 machines to each store. One accepts cash whilst the other accepts NETS and credit cards. It reminds me of those Japanese restaurants, except this is food court style.

So, simple as 1,2,3. First, you pick what you want from the menu, finalise the order, then enter your mobile number, make the payment via whichever way suits you, then collect your receipt and wait for the SMS to tell you your food is ready for collection!

Orders are all received on an iPad from the stall side and once received, they will start concentrating on preparing your delicious meals, without having to risk contamination of the food during money collection. Also, that would allow you to spend more time with your colleagues or friends, or when in a big group, it saves the whole waiting time for everyone to decide on what to eat.

Anyhoo, food time! At the food tasting session, we were served a full table of dishes from all 5 stalls - Grub, Gogibox, Cin.go Tapas, Omnivore and Teppei Syokudo.

Clockwise from top-left:
 • Kimchi fried rice with spicy chicken $8.50 (Gogibox)
 • Seafood paella $9.50/$12 (Cin.qo Tapas)
 • Beef tacos $6.80 (Gogibox)
 • Teriyaki pizza $15 (Cin.qo Tapas)
 • Beef noodle $8.90 (Grub Noodle)
 • Pork noodle $9.90 (Grub Noodle)
 • Sample platter $24.80 (Omnivore)
 • Kaisendon $16 (Teppei Syokudo)

My top favourite has to be the Kaisendon. It was a just nice serving of rice paired yummylicious Maguro (Tuna), Sake (Salmon) and other sashimi chunks with a generous helping of Ikura (Salmon Roe). It makes a very refreshing dish to go with a mug of cold beer, my best way to wind down after a stress week. =)

The sample platter from Omnivore is also not to be missed. I love the pairing dipping sauces that add a little sweetness to the different meat cuts. I would suggest cutting them into smaller chunks, so that you and your friends can all share and try the different flavours!

All in all, it was a great evening to be hanging out with friends and filling our tummies with scrumptious food. We were even entertained by the live bar as we dined and chilled!

Only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the part where you get to "shout" your order through the noise and telling the auntie "mai hiam" (no chilli). Though the self-service ordering system was efficient, that also seemed to be adding on to the too-much-technology-too-little-social-interaction syndrome. What you think?

[Tried & Tested] Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo

Hi Huneybees,

Ever since I started dying my hair in multi colours, I've been looking to Dry Shampoo to refrain from shampoo-ing and washing off the colours excessively. It's been the aerosol bottle spray type that I've been using, so here I am trying the powder version for the first time.

This lovely purple bottle is the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo. It was part of the Sephora Christmas goodie bag and I brought it along with me on my trip to New Zealand. The flight was an excruciating 13 hours, so I definitely had to bring my "shampoo" along to refresh my scalp. *Yes, I had a mini photoshoot in the airplane's toilet whilst everyone's dozing off in dreamland*

This talc-free dry shampoo helps absorb the excess oil/sweat, product build-up and other impurities your hair. It also makes hair smell amazing, containing:

 • Age-Control Complex®Combats chronological, chemical, and environmental aging.
 • Enzymetherapy® - A core Alterna technology found in each of the brand’s products helps transform ingredients into a micro-structure that the hair can more easily absorb, allowing for deeper more targeted penetration of active ingredients.
 • Color Hold® - Infuses hair with plant-derived melanin for extreme color protection and the prevention of color washout. Protects hair from UVA UVB and visible light including artificial light sources.

It’s also formulated without:

 • Parabens
 • Sulfates
 • Synthetic Dyes
 • Phthalates
 • GMOs
 • Triclosan

Well, it might be a little too much science there for you, so here's my review on using the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo.

Firstly, I'm in love with the applicator nozzle. It allows for precise application of the dry shampoo, but I have to warn you to pour slowly otherwise, you will be having white roots. There is a slight cooling effect when shampoo is applied, thus relieving any scalp itchiness too!

It did make my hair less oily but in terms of voluminizing, it doesn't seem to do much. It does leave a little waxy kinda feel, which creates a hold for any hairstyling. I would say this is a great item to have if you wana make your colour last longer with lesser hair wash, flying long hauls or even during confinement, you can feel fresh while smelling good too. :)

You can find Alterna's hair products in Sephora.
Stay fresh like Katie Holmes! :P

CC Cream for hair?! I wana try it next!

Tips I Learnt From Ep 1 Of Lady First (女人我最大) Singapore

Hi Huneybees,

The set of Lady First  (女人我最大) Singapore.

Lady First  (女人我最大) Singapore Edition kickstarted last Monday and I would like to share with you what I learnt from the 1st episode. I have put some of the little tips to test and I'm loving it!

1) Long Lasting Makeup for the Singapore weather

 • After applying sunscreen, wait 3 minutes, let it sink in to your skin and then use a tissue to blot off the excess cream. This will prevent smudging.
 • Concealer start slightly below the bottom lashes, then work it upwards towards the lashes.
 • Lightly apply the Sofina Primavista Ange Powder Foundation. It can not only allow water to slide off, you can safely use your smart phones without having to leave a mark on the screen after a call!
 • For eyeshadows to stick on, the Benefit Stay Don't Stray eye primer is one to "stick to" before applying your eyeshadow on top. Or use the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour for the light tinge of colours.
 • Eyeliners do not have to be thick. Just a little at the out corner of the eye to extend and define your eyes. Just like the logic: When a bigger size lady wears black, doesn't she look slimmer? So with thick black eyeline, your eyes will look smaller!

2) Cool down before touching up your makeup
 • Coming back to the office after lunchtime, tends to mess up your makeup. DO NOT jump straight into touching up your makeup. Be sure to coll down first!
 • Soak a towel in ice cold water and twist it dry or using the L’EGERE Double Effect Cooling UV Sun Spray, spray all over the towel and place it over your neck. Your neck is the central cooling/warming system of you body.
 • DO NOT go stand in front of a fan or air con, that will cause pore problems!
 • Now, you are free to go touch up your makeup and you don't have to keep slapping thick layers to cover up the sweat + powder mess.

3) Hair must be washed DAILY!
 • For our hot weather, hair has to be washed daily, KMS California Hair Stay Clarify Shampoo is recommended or if you don't want to use water, you can try the KMS California Hair Play Makeover Spray as a dry shampoo. It can even give your hair volume!
 • If you are experiencing hair loss, the Klorane Hair Revival Serum together with the Revival Kit will give you the extra boost to healthy scalp.
 • Caviar into hair = Moisture boost with the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Conditioner

For more information be sure to log to www.ladyfirst.com.
Be sure to catch Ep 2 tomorrow on Starhub TV Channel 111/825.
Yours truly will be the special guest in it, going through a makeover.
What's the results? Watch it tomorrow!

These Caneles from Gunther's are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Champagne anyone?

Garibaldi is another I'm was looking forward to eat.

Yipee! A pic with Chef Emmanuel from Saint Pierre (Left) and Chef Roberto from Garibaldi (Right).
Emmaunuel really had stuffs up his sleeves! He pulled out a pair of chopsticks right from his sleeve's pocket. MAGIC!

Next up, introduction to what we had for that night. We bought several lots to share.

Frangrant Steamed Yellow Pumpkin Rice from Forest (Chef Sam Leong)

Menage A Trois (Saint Pierre).
Very light and refreshing. Great as appetizer.

More for beef lovers. I still prefer my beef cooked like steak.
Agneau En Croute (Saint Pierre)
The lamb meat is so soft, tender and melts in your mouth.
Fettucine (Garibaldi)
The pasta is cooked right to the right Q-ness and duck meat with pasta is something I've not tried before. Very yummy.
My favourite dessert, Tiramisu (Garibaldi)! So sweet!

I'm not very sure where these 3 dishes are from, but they taste wonderful especially the seafood on below. The "soup" is a little tangy and sour, very appetizing!

Angel Hair Pasta with Caviar. Need I say more?
Bought 2 cakes from the Big O booth, but.....
They were destroyed due to my carrying of many things. Sob Sob.
The cakes still taste wonderful and although it was already 4am, hubby and I finished them both!

Thank you Savour! We had thousand and one fun~
