Healthy, Hearty, and Perfect for Sharing: A Festive Food Gift That Says “I Care”

Hi Huneybees,

As we step into the season of gatherings, cosy get-togethers, and heartfelt gift exchanges, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we show love during the holidays. For me, the most meaningful gifts are the ones that nourish... Whether it’s the heart, the soul, or in this case, the belly and the body.

And that’s exactly why Eu Yan Sang’s new Master Chef Heritage Prosperity Pot, co-created with the legendary Hong Kong Master Chef Peter Tsang, immediately caught my attention. It’s not just a festive delicacy, it’s a warm, comforting, “I care about your well-being” type of gift that feels perfect for Christmas, Lunar New Year, and everything in between.

A Gift That Wraps Warmth, Wellness, and Togetherness

Every year, we scramble to find gifts that feel thoughtful yet practical. Hampers are nice, yes. But this year, why not surprise someone with something truly heartfelt -  a handcrafted 'pencai' brimming with premium Cantonese ingredients and symbolic blessings?

Imagine gifting this to your parents, your in-laws, your grandparents, or even that foodie friend who treasures quality Asian cuisine. Instead of another item that might get tucked away, you’re gifting:

✨ nourishment
✨ convenience
✨ and a reason for loved ones to gather around the table

It’s the kind of present that says, “I want you to start the new year healthy, happy, and abundantly blessed.”

Crafted by a Legendary Hong Kong Chef — With Love and Legacy

This limited-edition 'pencai' is special for many reasons, but one of them is the incredible collaboration behind it. Master Chef Peter Tsang, a celebrated name in Cantonese fine dining, has infused over five decades of culinary wisdom into this creation. His dishes have graced gala banquets and international events, but this time, he brings that same finesse straight into our homes through Eu Yan Sang’s trusted heritage of nourishment.

Together, they’ve reimagined the traditional Hong Kong walled-village dish - poon choi, turning it into a ready-to-enjoy masterpiece that still feels like a labour of love simmered for hours in someone’s home kitchen.

Layers of Love, Blessings, and Auspicious Ingredients

What makes this pencai feel so gift-worthy is not just the convenience — it’s the symbolism layered into every bite.

Inside the pot, you’ll find:

  • Succulent abalones for abundance

  • Braised pork trotter for prosperity

  • Smoked duck breast for richness

  • Fish maw for nourishment

  • Fragrant mushrooms for longevity

  • Premium festive delicacies, each chosen for quality and meaning

Slow-braised in a rich umami broth, every layer tells a story of blessings and reunion. It’s the culinary equivalent of giving someone a warm, meaningful hug.

Because the Best Gifts Are Meant to Be Shared

One thing I absolutely love? This pencai transforms any meal into a celebration. Whether your recipients are busy families, elderly parents who no longer cook big feasts, or hosts looking to elevate their reunion dinner, this pot makes festive dining effortless. Just heat, serve, and enjoy.

To me, the heart of the festive season lies in creating moments of connection. And sometimes, it’s food that brings everyone closer. This Heritage Prosperity Pot isn’t just a dish, it’s a celebration of legacy, craftsmanship, and the joy of sharing something nourishing with the people who matter.

So if you’re still hunting for a gift that truly says “I appreciate you”, “I’m thinking of you”, or simply “I care”,  this may just be the most delicious and meaningful choice you can make this year.

The Eu Yan Sang Master Chef Heritage Prosperity Pot (港式名厨鸿运盆菜) will be available at all Eu Yan Sang retail stores and online at euyansang.com.sg, from December 2025, while stocks last.
Each 1.8 kg Prosperity Pot is retailing at S$198 per set and comes with a complimentary exquisite Prosperity Pencai Casserole Pot worth $109.90. (Eu Rewards members will be able to purchase this set at the special members’ price of $168).

*Available in limited quantities – on a first come first serve basis.

Bring You Family For Homely Local Cuisine At AOne Claypot House

| |
Hi Huneybees,

After a month of vegetarian diet,, I have taken a lighter and healthier approach when it comes to food. That is also why I fell in love with the dishes served in AOne Claypot House when I was invited for a food tasting session there.

Whilst watching a healthy, balanced menu, the flavour of the dishes are not compromised. It brings me back to those happy days (when studying for exams was all I stressed about), whole family sitting around the dining table, enjoying my mum's cooking.

All because at AOne, they believe in creating a casual, comfortable atmosphere for everyone to share and enjoy family-style comfort food, encompassing all the local flavours of Singapore, that we all grew up loving and eating.

Dishes prepared in claypot is not easy to find and it is definitely a test of the chef's skills, but they have chose to use the claypot as they believe that food should be consume at the right temperature.
Together with fresh ingredients, the claypot allows good airflow, good heat insulation, thus locking all the moisture and nutrients in while cooking, resulting in tender and juicy meats whilst using less oil.

'

Before I get started introducing you to the mouth watering dishes, you definitely have to order yourself a pot of their caffeine free and no added sugar - Assorted Fruit and Flower Tea. Not only is it infused with floral fragrance, you can also find Chinese Hawthorn 山楂 inside.

I love having Chinese Hawthorn tea as it has a slight sourish touch, that is appetizing and very good for digestion as well. It can lower blood pressure and cholesterol, and (LADIES!!!) it is also beneficial for those who want to get that hourglass figure. Hehehe...

Now that I have whetted your appetite, it's time to get to the main dishes! Amongst all those that we have tried that day, I love the Premium Dried Scallop Porridge (干贝艇仔粥), that comes served full of fresh and sweet scallops, fish and cuttlefish infused into the porridge cooked with pearl white rice.

This is the type of porridge that is cooked to a gooey thick texture, and not matter how long you stir or leave it cold, it does not turn watery. With the claypot, my porridge remained warm throughout the whole session, letting us enjoy this porridge slowly with every bite, taking in the "sea". :)

And for scallop lovers like me, be sure to try the Premium Claypot (一品锅) and Steamed Scallop with Minced Garlic Vermicelli (蒜蓉粉丝蒸带子).

The Premium Claypot with its prestigious name, encompasses all sorts of seafood - Abalone, Mushroom, Scallop, Sliced Fish, Prawn and Fish Maw. I can simply have this and a bowl of plain white rice to go with!

For a light meal, you can have the Steamed Scallop with Minced Garlic Vermicelli. The seasoning is just right and with the right pairing of the garlic and seafood, the vermicelli is definitely my go to comfort food now. I always have this when I go to AOne. :X

Of course, if you have more people joining you, you can try out these other delicious dishes as well.

Dried Scallop Porridge with Minced Meat & Assorted Eggs (Century Egg, Salted Egg, Egg)
干贝三色混蛋肉碎粥
Honey Chicken
冰花蜜汁鸡丁
Deep fried pumpkin and lotus root with creamy salted egg sauce
(咸蛋奶油金瓜莲藕)
Assorted Vegetables in Sambal Sauce
四大天王
Ever since this food tasting session, I am always dropping by for more. The food is great and the ambience, perfect for family gatherings and chit chats over food. I would recommend this for a family of all generations to come enjoy a meal ~~~

There is always something for everyone at Tang Hong Kong Gourmet

| |
Hi Huneybees,

Are you a fan of Cantonese cuisine? I know I am! I literally grew up eating Cantonese cuisine and Chinatown's one of my favourite hunts for that. Now let me introduce you to Tang Hong Kong Gourmet. Located on the outskirts of Shenton Way and a stone's throw away from Outram MRT station, the big orange signboard waves to you right at 116 Neil Road.

Just like the signboard suggests, cute cartoon chef characters and a clean dining area greets its customers. My favourite colour for the restaurant's theme, so sunny and welcoming the moment you step inside. It is a great place to catch up with friends after a hard day's work...

Tang Hong Kong Gourmet is owned by none other than Celebrity Chef Mr Benson Tong.
He was CHAMPION in a Culinary Challenge before, awarded and featured on several publications. And for 100.3FM listeners, he is none other than Mr Simple, Benson himself!

Here are some of the must-try when you are there.
Don't ever leave the restaurant without eating them!

Interesting drinks before we started eating...Water Chestnut with Sugar Cane (Left $1.50) / Pink Guava Drink (Right $1.50)
Tang's Special Spice Roast Duck (Half for $25)
The skin is roasted to the right crispiness, yet the meat is still kept juicy and tender. This dish is a must order when you drop by Tang HK Gourmet!

The next 3 dishes were taught to Benson through the program -  Buzzing Cashier  < 抢摊大行动 >. Check out the video above and you will know how delicious the dishes are!

Steam Fish Head with Chilli and Garlic Sauce ($16.90)
My favourite dish. Fish is good for your brains you know? Anyway, this dish is a big portion, you must definitely share this delicious tangy, slight spicy fish with your loved ones...
Pig Trotter Vinegar ($8.90)
It had the Mama's taste. Have it before any dish to whet your appetite and let me tell you, everyone at the table was scooping spoons after spoons of the vinegar to drink or to mix it into their rice.
Promotion - Order this in the Suite Set G at the same price with a bowl of rice and you get a FREE Hot Coffee/Tea!!!
Tang's Special Spicy Coconut Prawn ($12.90)
I have never tasted anything like this before! The coconut taste is strong and the prawns are super fresh! There's a little Thai inspired taste in this dish....
Tang's Special Spicy Silver Fish ($6.90)
Fried little bites that will keep you munching down to the last piece.
Pork Cutlet with Fries ($8.90)
This is from Tang's Western Menu. It is normally served with fries.
The Pork Cutlet is so soft, it melts in the mouth on its own, don't even have to chew hard! Definitely a dish even Grandma & Grandpa can have!
Double Boil Papaya with White Fungi (Hot/Cold) ($4.60)
With White Fungus 雪耳 (great for anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor, best for soothing purposes like nourishing the bodies, healing dry coughs and clearing heat in the lungs) and Red Dates 紅棗 (used for treating the stomach and spleen), this is a must drink dessert after food. Papaya's my favourite and with such wonderful properties, why miss this?!

Here are some things to note from the menu. The sets are great for the lunch time...

A picture with the chef, Benson Tong and below, with the bloggers present that day...

Below is the video that kept playing on repeat mode on the TV in the restaurant. Clever idea to present the menu and it definitely got me wanting more and I couldn't resist going back the next week with my parents...

P.S.: I know this blog post took me longer than needed to write coz I'm always salivating while writing and I had too run off to go get some food. Imagine the resistance... LOL!
