Buffalo Sunn Returns To Singapore For Music Matters 2014‏

Buffalo Sunn (formerly known as Sweet Jane) are back to Singapore to perform in the Music Matters 2014.

They are a cosmic Rock n Roll band from Dublin, comprising of four musically tuned Paxton brothers (Daniel the songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist, Neil on keys, guitar and backing vocals, Conor on keys and guitar and Ruairi on bass) along with Donagh O'Brien on drums, the honorary brother of the Paxton clan.

Their sound incorporates sounds from the 60's all the way up through the ages they mix big reverb leaden harmonies with carefully placed guitars that take you on an epic journey through their songs. On their recording don't be surprised to hear a choir or the odd string arrangement thrown in to take you on a voyage whether it be on sea or land.


Their Debut album as Buffalo Sunn "By The Ocean, By The Sea" is due later this year 2014. Mixed by legendary Irish producer Pat McCarthy (The Waterboys, REM, Spiritualized, Butthole Surfers, U2).

Oktoberfest @ Clarke Quay

Hi Huneybees,


Nope, I wasn't  at Germany for Oktoberfest. But in fact, I was at Clarke Quay Singapore! Every year, I see photos of people attending Oktoberfest in Germany, but it seems so quiet in Singapore...

When I heard about Clarke Quay hosting an Oktoberfest, I jumped at it! *I know I'm suppose to quit drinking, but Oktoberfest lehs! I must go! PARTAY!!!*

 

Shiny black eyeshadow and purple lips to go with my watch and off I go for Oktoberfest...


When I reached the venue, there was a  live performance by Highlander's resident rock bamd DeJavu and Penny Lane in the center stage, singing their little brand of old school rock and roll mixed with Top 40s,  to bring the party right up to the roof. 

 





Crowds were queuing to get food BEER! There were many food kiosks surrounding the central fountain area, all the participating Clarke Quay tenants - Alegro, Beer Market, Go India Express, Shiraz, The Pump Room, Vintry Singapore; offered an endless list of mouth-watering delicacies such as Crispy Pork Knuckles, Home-made German Port Bratwust and Mash, Beer Pretzel, Chicken Schnitzel, German Gourmet Sausages, Roast Pork Belly (Schweinbraten), Pork Ribs (Rippen), Braised Beef in Vineger (Rindfleisch in Essig), etc! For those looking for something abit different, there was even Chicken Tikka Currywurst, Spicy Potato Pickert and Marsala Fried Chicken Schnitzel! So much food to eat and I only had little space in my tummy. So I chose to have beer. How can I miss Beer in Oktoberfest right?!

Erdinger was the official beer that night.

 

3 cups of Erdinger beer for a Oktoberfest hat and hubby won his answering the right question given by the host on stage.


The fun did not end with the food and beer! There were pretty Deandl (girl) dressed in 'Dirndl', the traditional Bavarian costume walking around for photo taking, or even take part on the challenge at the game booths such as Beer Pong, Hoop A Beer, Fill the Mug and Scooping Treasure to win Clarke Quay vouchers.

Afterwhich, we spotted the models in 'Dirndl', so we stopped them for some photos. That's when I spotted fellow blogger, Janice, whom I met at the SILKBATH event! It's been awhile we met, as she was busy with her work, hardly attending blogging events. It was nice to catch up with her.




With pretty pretty Janice. I feel so inferior next to her. LOL!

Beer Market

Hey Huneybees!

I'm back on Huney'Z World. New terms for my readers and  followers. You know like how people living in Singapore are called Singaporeans, students of NYP are called NYP-ians? Well, I have one too. Everyone is Huney'Z World are called Huneybees! So now you know eh?

So, back to the topic. I was at the "Beer Market" on Clarke Quay the other day with my sis and fiance. It was my first time there and it was a pretty interesting place to hang out after hard day's work. So why call it "Beer Market"?

At first, I thought it's like a place where you get a variety of beers like a market, where you get to choose which type and from which country's beer you wana get, but well, I was only right half. You do get a selection of beers, but prices are like stock market, they rise and fall every 30 mins.

What I mean is 30 mins before, your glass of beer could cost you $4.00, but 30 mins later, it could cost only $3.50, then another 30 mins later, it could cost you $4.20. Fun right? Not only you get a place to chill out with friends, you get to be busy to catch the glass of beer you wanted at the cheapest rate!

Moreover, you get to listen to the live band perform and on Wednesdays, you get the popular Jack and Rai performing!!!!

They have programmes almost every night.
