Celebrate National Day With Made-In-Singapore Animated Series - Sharkdog

Imagine having a half shark, half dog for a sidekick, how would your life be? A new cartoon series - Sharkdog will make its debut this National Day on the Nickelodeon Play app. Sharkdog, a 20 x 90-second animated series, will be Nickelodeon’s first animated short-form series from Asia, out of Singapore, with each episode released progressively through the platform this month.

The story follows Max who thinks he has found his new best friend when he adopts Sharkdog – half shark, half dog, all appetite. But can Sharkdog suppress his ravenous urges and, just this once, not eat Max’s homework? Max is desperate to be a superhero – he’s got the super side kick but now just needs to figure out the hero part.

Birthed by Ms Jacinth Tan, a Singaporean storyboard artist, she got the idea while playing with her dog during Discovery Channel's Shark Week television programming. Collaborating with the multi-award-winning CG animation studio, One Animation, who worked closely with both the Nickelodeon International and Asia teams, comes this 3D comedy series. 

Sharkdog is the first animated series from Asia to come out of the 2015 edition of the annual Nickelodeon’s Global Animated Shorts Programme, designed to identify and develop original comedy-driven content for kids. Besides Sharkdog, a further 21 pitches were chosen out of 850 pitches and developed into animated shorts, with the potential to air on the network, or live on the Nickelodeon Play App.

Guess Who's Hosting The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards ?

Hi Huneybees,

The most anticipated music awards show - "MTV Video Music Awards" will be making its way back this August. Every year I'm peeled to the TV watching if my favourite singer/s or bands get awarded, who is best dressed, the best performance and start the whole tweeting process throguhout the day.

This year, it will not be different and I'm even more excited coz one of my favourite female superstar - Katy Perry will be hosting the show live from "Fabulous" Forum in Inglewood, California! I can't wait to see her performance, the clothes changes she will have through the night and also keep and eye out for her makeup looks and try to replicate it. =)

YES!!!! I'm a huge fan of this colourful, always changing and evolving singer!

In advance of the world tour for her most recent, chart-topping album, Witness, Perry will light up the stage as the first performer announced for this year’s show.  She has already secured a spot as one of the top nominees for the 2017 VMAs with nods in five categories, including: Best Pop, Best Direction and Best Visual Effects for “Chained to the Rhythm,” Best Art Direction for “Bon Appetit,” and Best Collaboration for Calvin Harris’ “Feels” featuring Pharrell Williams, Perry and Big Sean. Woohoo! Hope she wins big!

MTV has already announced the nominations for the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards” exclusively on Instagram Live, with Kendrick Lamar scoring the most of the year with eight nominations for his video “HUMBLE”. Katy Perry and The Weeknd are tied for five nominations each.  Building on the critical acclaim of the non-gendered categories at the 2017 “MTV Movie & TV Awards,” the network also announced the former “Best Female Video” and “Best Male Video” categories have been combined for “Artist of the Year.”  Additionally, “Best Fight Against the System” has been added to celebrate videos that inspire viewers to stand up and fight injustice.  

If you want your favourites to win, you can start voting for them by visiting www.vma.mtv.com. Additionally, voting for the "Best New Artist" award, presented by Taco Bell®, will remain live through the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards” Pre-Show airing at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT. The top two artists will be revealed during the pre-show, kicking off a live Twitter hashtag vote with the winner being announced during the live main telecast. Nominees for the socially voted category, “Best Song of Summer,” will be announced at a later date. 

So, get clicking with your votes and mark your calendar for The 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards”. It will air live on Sunday, August 27 AT 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.  

In Asia, the 2017 “MTV Video Music Awards" will premiere live on MTV Asia on Monday, August 28 at 7:00 a.m. (WIB) and 8:00 a.m. (MY/SG/PH).

Dance To The Beat With Season 2 Of MTV’S OK DANCEOKE

Do you dance The Whoosh or The Lookie? Do you know what's The Body Wave? Well, if you wana pick up some new dance moves, don't miss the music video dance tutorial programme - Ok Danceoke.

Returning for a second season this June, Ok Danceoke Season 2  breaks down the dance routine in the music videos and show you how to master the signature moves like a pro. You can start dancing like a pro from music genres ranging from K-Pop, to Top 40s, to House. 

K-Pop Fever with OK DanceOke Season 2

There will be songs like ‘Knock Knock’ by TWICE, ‘That’s What I Like’ by Bruno Mars, and ‘Solo Dance’ by Martin Jensen; broken into easy-to-follow steps so that you can perfect your groove without constantly hitting the replay button on the player. 

Ok Danceoke Season 2 premieres on MTV Asia on 6 June, Tuesday at 8pm (WIB), 9pm (SG/PH) and 10pm (MY), with each episode made up of six music videos. The next day, from 7 June, one selected video will appear online every Wednesday for nine weeks. 

Shot and produced in Singapore, production for the show began in early-May. Season 2 also sees an expanded dance instructor mix – with the additions of Felicia Cher, specialising in K-Pop and Street Jazz; and the Scrach Marcs team of Rachel Lee and Marcus Tan, winners of The Dance Floor Season 2 competition and the Singapore Dance Delight Volume 6. Meanwhile, instructors Mohammad Alif (a.k.a. Alif Aircho) from Danz People, and Chloe Jong from Limited Edition, return this second season.

This season also extends the MTV Asia and Musical.ly partnership from Season 1, and challenges musers to perform dance moves from excerpts of Ok Danceoke Season 2 music videos. The top 50 videos, judged on their popularity and the accuracy of the dance, will be incorporated into ongoing promotions for Ok Danceoke Season 2.

I've been busy planning for our Christmas party and the search for songs to update my Christmas playlist was quite a toil. This year, the songs seem be to little and coming a little late (launching just a month before Christmas) and everyone seem to be jumping on the collaboration wagon with popular shopping brands!

The largest drugstore in UK definitely is here to celebrate Christmas with their galore of products to doll you up and be ever ready for every party! Who else to rope in but the amazing UK voice - Jessie J to sing their ad song?!

John Legend - Under The Stars

What sounds does the stars make? That's you have to give it to John Legend and Stella Artois for this amazing collaborative holiday single created for Stella Artois' "Give Beautifully" campaign. The R&B mastermind has created a warm winter ballad with soft drums and his signature, powerful piano chords, to give a gift, a song that’s inspired by the stars. 



But other than heavy branding, we also have a sultry number from down under's sweetie - Kylie Minogue with "Every Day's Like Christmas", or get into all the sweetness with Carly Rae Jepsen's "Last Christmas" or chill, let your hair down with Ariana Grande's "Winter Time".



Not forgetting this husky male number from Steve Grand with his "All I Want for Christmas Is You", feel the snow falling on your face as we enjoy The Best New Artist GRAMMY nominee - Tori Kelly's smokey acappella performance of "Silent Night" atop of Capitol Records HQ in California.

Jessie J Gave Singapore A "Bang Bang" Performance At The Singapore Jazz Festival 2015

Hi Huneybees,

Being able to perform in a subway with just a boombox to introduce herself to the US crowd is no simple feat. There's not alot of singers out there who would have done it and when I saw this video, I was totally sold to Jessie J, (even though her supes trendy makeup already caught my eyes).


This UK singer has come a long way since her songwriting days to the "Bang Bang" diva she is today. People might see her as arrogant, but it was all just a saying. I had a fan girl moment sitting across her during a meet and greet session and there was not a touch of arrogance about her. She even complimented my lipstick colour (Yes, I had the Gunner on from the M.A.C x Nasty Gal collection)!

The fan meet was set up for the kids from 10sq - a designated charity of Sands for Singapore and recipients of the Business Times Budding Artists Fund. In continuation of Sands for Singapore’s initiatives of giving back to the local community in meaningful ways, the meet-and-greet at Marina Bay Sands presented the local talent a rare opportunity to meet their favourite star.

Originally a car park, 10sq managed by The RICE Company Limited (RICE) is an arts training centre for young people which combines traditional arts spaces with arts technology. The programmes are designed as a catalyst for young people to initiate new creative ideas and be inspired to reach beyond their limits. 10sq is also home to youth budding artists, majority of whom are beneficiaries of The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, pursuing an arts training programme in Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts and Music.

The young performers from 10sq surprised her with an a cappella rendition of ‘Masterpiece’, which Jessie was very touched. And in return she invited the youth to perform the song with her on stage that evening, in addition to giving them autographed tickets to the her show.

She was simply so touched and it was amazing of her to be giving the kids a chance on stage when she invited them to sing on stage with her on the second night of  Singapore Jazz Festival 2015! Each of them even got a selfie taken with her and here's one of the happy 10sq member Anthea's pic with Jessie J herself!

And when the sky turned dark and the audience were all hyped up, it was time for the diva to perform. Transforming from a goddess, she donned on a translucent jersey with SINGAPORE written across her chest and subtly showing off her bra and hot pants beneath. 

This has kinda become a uniform for Jessie on her "Sweet Talker" tour, with the countries she's visiting, printed across her chest. But I'm definitely loving her style and especially with the gorgeous ring braids on her head, she really rocked the style amazingly!

The night's performance was every bit worthed to stay up for. Jessie performed every of her hit songs - "Price Tag", "Sweet Talker", "Do It Like A Dude", "Burnin' Up", etc and not forgetting to end it with her highly replayed song with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj - "Bang Bang". The crowd were made dancing and singing along, when Jessie took off her top showcasing her amazing bod, before throwing her t-shirt to this lucky fan who was ecstatic to have caught it.

But the best moment had got to be when she took a break and introduced the kids from 10sq performing "Masterpiece". They sang with such beautiful voices, that even Jessie couldn't help joining in and sharing her mic with her little fans.

Taylor Swift Should Be A Victoria's Secret Angel Too!

Hi Huneybees,

This year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was brought to London for the first time on Tuesday at the London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The extravagant creations of bejewelled bras and "angel wings" were definitely not to be missed, but Taylor Swift's performance was one of the highlights, in fact, this tall, lengthy babe should be walking the catwalk show too!

Other than "flirting" with her BFF -  Victoria's Secret model Karlie Kloss, both Taylor's outfits spell subtle sexiness for this 24 year old starlet. Be it black lingerie ensemble with a lace combo or the soft sweet pink silk nightgown, she was looking every inch like an "angel" with her model-sque figure. Don't you agree?

Red Carpet Moment On MTV EMA 2013

Hi Huneybees,

The MTV EMA 2013 happened this morning at 4am, I was too tired to stay awake, but the lovely people of MTV had me flown to Kuala Lumpur and right now I am watching the uncut version of the whole show right in the lobby of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

So, here's the lowdown on who wore what at the red carpet. Are you ready to see who were the #EMAzing people?

Hosted by Louise Roe and Laura Whitmore, the red carpet was roaring hot as the celebrities get sent into intergalactic. Totally digging the Mara Hoffman Spring 2014 dress on Louise Roe. The right amount of flesh showing with this season's hottest neon colour pops!

As for Laura Whitemore, what's so out of this world from her FYODOR GOLAN gown has got to be the weird proportions around her boobs, the dress simply looked so ill-fitted and cinched at all the wrong areas, making her look as though she was pregnant.

Redfoo was the host for the night and no one can work those crazy hair like him. He had 9 different outfit change and he even had his very own shoe horn guy!

The Duo - Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo of Iconapop turned up in monochrome black and white but the twist of stripes and intricate weave detailing on Aino's dress was simply screaming sexy without being too sleazy.

Same for Ellie Goulding, she opted for a lacey back dress with all the right coverage. It was all so pretty for an award show but it would be better if she had a pop of colour like red lips or holographic heels?

Nominated for the Artist On The Rise award, Ariana Grande turned up at the red carpet in a lace inset halter frock from Mikael D. Kinda disappointed that she had dropped her red hair look, but we will be seeing more of her as she interviews celebrities as the official MTV EMA backstage host and she be presenting an award.

30 Seconds to Mars is forever my favourite group to look at. Ok. I admit, just Jared Leto, but his long hair was a turn off. Where is the clean cut Jared???

Katy Perry's red carpet look was totalloy a letdown. She looked as though she was going for tea with The Queen! I do love her bling bling headband and the clever peach heels to freshen the common mint dress. Psst, Katy even admits to collecting hair and she has Miley's !

The popular Norwegian duo - Ylvis also did their ever so catchy (or irritating) "Fox Song" performance right at the red carpet. I just can't help singing along....

 

This had got to be her year. Miley Cyrus with her image change and over obsessive tongue sticking and twerking moves turned up in  a tiny little dress featuring Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. faces, a plunging neckline, lacing up the front and a barely there backside.

She was on the verge of going Bai Ling style there, but we also got to see her new tattoos of her grandma on the arm. I wonder what monkey business she will be up to on the award show.

Iggy Azalea was the most polished and my favourite look with her cutout one-shoulder dress with thigh-high slits from Dilek Hanif Couture. A little red lips might make her face stand out a little more though....

Special appearance by Will Ferrell as  Ron Burgundy. Asked by reporters how he was enjoying Amsterdam, he said he has had "a lot of these delicious brownies, and they are very good." Hmmm.....

Even though Rihanna wasn't present at the MTV EMA 2013, Dutch singer-songwriter Eva Simons’ out of this world hair and look at the awards show, definitely rocked the red carpet. She also another favourite of mine. Totally digging her style.
