SERIOUSLY! What Does The Fox Say?!

Hi Huneybees,

I bet you have heard this amazingly viral song on YouTube and on your radio stations. It's the "Fox Song"  by Norwegian duo - Ylvis (Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker). The song might seem as a joke at first and when I first heard it on 987FM, I still tot it was a parody song that The Muttons made up on their own. *OOPS!*

But then, it grows! My hubby and I would wake up with this song in our heads, sing the song out of nowhere and then listen to the song before we sleep. It's like our lullaby and it never cease to keep us giggling everytime we hear this song!

The song went viral overnight (although still not as high as Miley's outrageously gorgeous body showing video "Wrecking Ball") with its ridiculous sounds like "Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding" and "Wa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pow." But the sentence in the pre-chorus - "What The Fox Say?" got me thinking and cracking me brain hard.

So, curious Huney went buzzing around Google and found the answer! I thought it will be a bark like dog's but actually...

It is this horrible, scary shrill. If I didn't see this video, I would still imagine a lady being scared the sh*t out of her by her pranky friends. It's thought that this call is used by vixens (female foxes) to lure male foxes to them for mating, though males have been found to make this sound occasionally as well. *Eh, sounds more like a call to de-mating, I'd rather the "Hotee Hotee Hotee Ho" from the song*
Yipee! So now, the mystery is solved! But then it got me thinking, why is it that the sound of fox is so uncommon? Well, it's coz teachers at schools and books always teaches the animal sounds of dogs, cats, lions, etc. It's hardly sounds of the hardly seen wildlife that is mentioned.

So, let me ask you, "What does the deer say?" Go Google it. I bet you will be shocked!

987FM BBQ Beach Bash Presented By Sjora

Hi Huneybees,

On Saturday, 987FM and Sjora held the 987 BBQ Beach Bash at Sentosa Wavehouse. It was sweltering hot, but it didn't melt our desire to party!

Being a beach party, bikini babes were definitely a must have! And also, we were treated to free flow of BBQ (by BBQwholesale.com) and Sjora (a premium and refreshing flavorful beverage, made from a unique blend of Mango, Pinapple Juice and Milk), together with airbrush tattoos. I even got one for myself and hubby's been calling me Ah Lian (Definition here) ... *Sigh*

Nothing beats having good company and good music. The performers for the day were local bands Jack and Rai as well as The Sam Willows. Some of you might have seen their performance on my Instagram, but I'll put the videos here again...

Can Ex-es Really Work Together?

Power 98 launched a new radio show yesterday starring DJ Mister Young and Jacqui, who were ex-lovers. Imagine working with your ex-romance of 5 years on the evening drive time show, there will sure be a lot of sarcasm and bitch slaps on air, and hopefully sweet moments and laughter too.

Radio has been a big part of my life since my schooling days and what I love about Power 98 is that they play songs from the 90s till today.

The Ex-Factor is the first radio show of it’s kind in Singapore. Tune in to Power 98FM on weekdays, 5pm to 8pm and listen to Mister Young and Jacqui attempting to host the prime time programme without trying to pull each other’s hair and head off. Honestly, the programme director must have gone mad to put two ex-es together on the evening show.

“It’s must hear radio as the chemistry is definitely there but so is the drama! I think it’ll be interesting because we can’t bullsh*t with each other. It will be us at our most raw and unfiltered,” quips Mister Young. “This is definitely a show where sparks will fly!’

Last week, we were invited for a preview of the show and a studio recording with Mister Young and Jacqui. Mister Young currently wears two hats at Power 98, one as a DJ and the other as the Assistant Programme Director. Jacqui has been in the entertainment industry since 2006. Started out with a one-week stint on radio as Ms Personality from The New Paper New Face Contest, and moved on to host 987FM’s flagship show ‘Say It With Music’.

That afternoon, we had an “intimate session” with the DJs, started off playing some games followed by questions and answers about everyone’s relationship(s) and ex-es. I’m looking forward to this new evening show, definitely going to be a juicy, no-holds-barred show that will rock the airwaves of our island!

The DJs will also be acting out special characters on air, such as Bee Geok and Geok Bee, like most of us, they LOVE good bargains, good food, long queues (?!!) and are very ‘well-travelled’ (track record: Johor Bahru, Genting, Tioman, Malacca, Batam…)

Everyone's FLASHING At The LEVI’S 501 Jeans 140TH Anniversary Party

Hi Huneybees,

LEVI'S 501 Jeans recently celebrated their 140th year in running. I was super happy to be there celebrate with them. LEVI'S have always been a brand that I follow closely and I wear only their brand of jeans. It's so comfortable to be in them and as you guys know I hardly wear jeans, so the time when I wear them, I want to extenuate my silhouette and feel as though it is my own skin.

I was there earlier for the media party and got to catch the fashion show first hand. It was interesting to see dancers as models and right from the beginning, there was a STOMP moment when they came out dancing, tap dancing and hitting shovels against barrels, creating beats together with the music. They portrayed how LEVI'S Jeans started with workers wearing them first...

So, onto the fashion show.

Then, there was a break and we were back for second round. This time in conjunction with 987fm's RSVP party. Means fashion meets free booze and partying with the DJs! The moment I stepped into the club, I was already shocked to see this girl going down on this guy on stage. WOW! Has Singapore become so open??

Phew, it was just ladies playing a game of stripping the guys alongside 8DAYS Shirtless guys. Lucky, it was just a problem of the point of view. I thought this was happening real life!

Mediacorp artiste and LEVI'S ambassadors - Yahui and Ian were present to play games with the audience and to "educate" us more about the LEVI'S 501 Jeans with the DJs - The Muttons, Rozz, Bobby Tonelli, Sonya, Divian and DeeKosh.
