[What's New] Joanne Peh Unveils Her Flipping New Hair At #GETSASSOONED Event By Vidal Sassoon

Hi Huneybees,

Sometimes don't you just wish you have multiple clones of yourself to help you run around? It was a pity I missed the #GetSassooned fashion show that day, looking back at the photos, it was a colourful event and I guess it time I give my hair the chops?

It was Singapore’s first #GETSASSOONED event by Vidal Sassoon. Held in partnership with Creative Director of Hairloom and Sassoon Academy-trained hairstylist, Calvin Gan, local fashion designer Mae Pang, and hosted by local musician Sara Wee, not only were the models transformed,  Singapore’s first Vidal Sassoon ambassador Joanne Peh as well as Fly Entertainment artiste Oon Shu An presented their Sassooned Looks on the runway. They were inspired by classic Vidal Sassoon cuts, but modernized by Calvin.

Saw Michelle at the event and we shyly asked Utt for a photo together. :)

At the event, we also saw the introduction of the Vidal Sassoon Elastica Premium Hair Care Series. It is designed to allow women to effortlessly recreate the salon look at home, injecting every strand of hair with elasticity to bring any hairstyle to life.

Can't wait to give this series a try...
So, here's the photos from the fashion show. Everyone's hair were chopped off with a fresh new coat of colour, especially Joanne Peh's. It's definitely a younger and more vibrant version of her!

Beerfest Asia Is Back With Its 5th Edition

Hi Huneybees,

An annual highlight for beer lovers in Singapore and the region, premier beer festival Beerfest Asia returns for the fifth time to tempt both beer and beverage enthusiasts with its diverse selection of beers.

Organised by Beerfest Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of music lifestyle company Timbre Group,  this four-day lifestyle and trade festival will be held from 13 to 16 June 2013 at the Marina Promenade (the F1 tracks behind the Singapore Flyer). Featuring more than 300 types of beer from all over the world, live stage performances, a comedy club, beer auctions and tasting workshops, it’s a distinct experience packed with great entertainment, drinks, and food that everyone has come to look forward to every year.

New beers continue to be a highlight at Beerfest Asia. This year, look out for varieties new to Singapore such as the UK’s Hollows Ginger Beer (4.0% ABV) brewed with Chinese ginger root; or German beer EKU 28, with a full-bodied malt aroma and one of the strongest beers in the world at 11% ABV.

The experience does not end at the festival. In addition to being able to purchase bottled beer at attractive prices, tasting beers before purchase, and sampling beers new to either the festival or the market, learn about
how beer is made and try brewing it yourself at home. The latter is part of the new Craft Beer Experience section where festival-goers are taken through each step of the beer-making process by brewers themselves, and can even smell the hops, taste unique home brews, and purchase a home kit if they are so inspired to make their own.

“We started this festival to raise the profile and appreciation of beer, and a significant part of the appreciation is understanding the process by which beer is made. This is the only festival that not only makes this process highly interactive and entertaining, but also brings hundreds of the world’s best beers to you in one location.” --- Festival Director Edward Chia

This edition, the festival adds a new fourth marquee, Whisky & Wine Lounge, to its line up. Revellers can now explore beyond the boundaries of new palates within the festival grounds. A range of premium and limited edition products will be on offer and tasting from exhibitors, Cornerstone Wines and Beam Global. More than just a beer festival, the quality of entertainment at Beerfest Asia remains a hallmark of the four-day event. This year, be entertained by international tribute bands like Killer Queen, The Australian Guns’N’Roses Show, The Fortunate Sons, Melbourne’s premier Creedance Clearwater Revival (CCR)/Fogerty Tribute band and a host of the best of Singapore’s local bands, including Shagies and 53A.

Also raising the bar on entertainment this year are Comedy Club Asia acts Sons of Singapore, a local comedy trio who were top performers at last year’s “Stand Up For Singapore” and a hit at Beerfest Asia 2012. The trio will be joined by international talents Tom Rhodes (USA), Stephen Grant (UK) and Steve Allison (AUS). Hosted by the popular and multi-linguistic comedic talent Jonathan Atherton, there is no better combination of award-winning wit, energy, intellect and absurdity.

Tickets from S$15 are now available from SISTIC, with limited early bird / advance one-day passes as well as four-day passes available. Choose the ultimate way to enjoy Beerfest Asia with the VIP package, which includes S$50 worth of Beerfest credits, a buffet dinner from 7pm-9pm, admission to a reserved VIP area with air coolers and reserved seating, one festival T-shirt and one souvenir programme, and express entry. Festival + Comedy combos are also available, and all festival-goers have the option to purchase single show comedy tickets at the door within Beerfest Asia.

All Standard / Combo tickets are inclusive of a free beer redeemed on festival grounds.

Visit www.beerfestasia.com for more updates on beers, beverages, ticket sales, the Asia Beer Awards, food and entertainment.

Porsche Design Celebrating 40th Anniversary

Hi Huneybees,

Recently, Issac invited me to join him at the Porsche Design 40th Anniversary Event (at Novus Restaurant) where we got to learn more about Porsche Design eyewear and its heritage. First thing first, Happy Birthday Porsche Design!

"If you analyse the function of an object, its form often becomes obvious." --- Prof. F.A. Porsche

The event was hosted  by the half Malaysian/British FLY entertainment artiste, Henry Golding.
Taking a walk down history lane of Porsche Design.
Porsche Design to Revolutionize Classic Aviator Sunglasses

From Top: P'8478, P'8480, P'8418 and P'8494
The spectacles from Porsche Design are legendary. Yoko Ono caused an international sensation in 1979 with the P'8479 shield sunglasses in the sporty 80s look, when the cult model wore them for the first time at a press conference. The artist was seen later on various record and magazine covers. In the meantime, the frame is a sought after accessory among deign enthusiasts, and is also known as the Yoko Ono spectacles.

P'8478 shades, which allows you to change the lens.
The P"8480 fold-up soectacles with an innovative folding mechanism had similar success in 1980. The pilot spectacles can be folded up in not time at all, making them practical and space-saving. A true classic and one of the world's most successful sunglasses are the P'8478 "Exclusive Spectacles", which were developed in 1978 and whose design has remained unchanged to this day. Porsche Design is now presenting a very special, exclusive model of the cult sunglasses as well as 2 other limited editiongs for its 40th Anniversary.

The Heritage P'8478 Interchangeable Lens Shades.

Addressed by Mr. Gerhard Novak, Head of Strategic Business Unit Eyewear, Vice President of Porsche Design.

3 very suave FLY Entertainment artistes, Benjamin Heng, Bobby Tonelli and Shane Mardjuki endorsing the Porsche Design shades.
After the little presentation indoors, we were asked to step outside to the red carpet for a little Porsche Design video, but before that, we had Benjamin sharing how easy the foldable shades is and Bobby shared about his interchangeable lens shades.

Members of 53A were present that day too!

Now, for the fashion show!

Lucky Draw Time!

A super big group photo of the artiste everyone from Porsche Design and Sin Kwang Optical.
A pic with Shane Marjudki.

Asking Bobby about his interchangeable lens shades. It's super easy to change, suitable for a chameleon like me!

Thank you for such a great afternoon everyone!
Check out Sin Kwang Optical for the Porsche Design eyewear!
