Sadly what I have shared below is not happening anymore. All thanks to the "amazing" hazy weather here in Singapore, the SPRING WAVE 2015 Will NOT be happening this year. 😢

Yes, we wouldn't want these rockers to injured their vocals with the choking haze and in lieu of the worsening situation, the music festival is called off.

The health, safety and well-being of concert-goers, artistes, partners and staff, which includes the young and old, are the utmost priority of the event organiser - Friendly Dog Entertainment Co., Ltd, in the decision making of an outdoor event.

They wish to thank their fans for the support and well, we can only hope that this haze won't be back next year! #HazeBeGone

SPRING WAVE 2015 will be washing up on our shores coming 10 October 2015, bringing 5 heavyweight rock stars from Taiwan - Wu Bai and China Blue, Chang Chen-Yue aka A-Yue, Luantan Ascent, Buddha Jump and Auntie Roxy.

Proudly presented by Tiger Beer, the highly-anticipated 6 hour music festival will treat music lovers to an electrifying evening with high-energy Mandopop music and refreshing Tiger Beer, within the lush greenery of Fort Canning Green.

~~These big names have gained tons of achievements in their performing years and fans are bound to be in for a treat!~~

Wu Bai and China Blue (伍佰）, performing together to celebrate their 23^rd anniversary, Wu Bai, also known as the “”King of Chinese Rock”, has held numerous sold out concerts throughout Asia;

Chang Chen-Yue aka A-Yue （张震岳）, songwriter, singer, guitarist who also crossed over to act in several movies and played to a roaring crowd in last year’s Skechers Sundown Festival;

Luantan Ascent （乱弹阿翔）, multi-talented and 6 time Golden Melody Award winning singer, composer, lyricist, producer, Luantan Ascent is known for his mesmerising rough and deep voice;

Buddha Jump （佛跳墙）, alternative rock band fronted by Malaysian-born singer/song writer Penny Tai known for her famous theme song “Ni Yao De Ai” (The Love You Want) featured in popular Taiwanese drama series, Meteor Garden. The band recently picked up the Best Band award at the 26^th Golden Melody Awards in Taipei; and

Auntie Roxy （摇滚大婶）, Having won several music competitions, the upcoming band returns after last year performance at Spring Wave 2014.

To cater to Mandopop fans in South Asia, Taiwanese event organisers - Friendly Dog Entertainment Co., Ltd have been bringing the festival to Singapore since 2013. Besides Singapore, the festival also tours Hong Kong, showcasing top Taiwanese music talents.

Yesterday, I had the honour to attend the 2013 Spring Wave Singapore Music Festival (2013 春浪音乐节) Press Conference. Spring Wave is annual event that has been held at the southern part of Taiwan, Kenting for the past 7 years. Each year the event attracted no less than 20000 concert goers with performances by the biggest names in the Mandopop industry, including Mayday (五月天), Eason Chen (陳奕迅) and our homegrown singer - JJ Lin (林俊杰).

2013 Spring Wave Singapore Music Festival will be held on 4 May 2013 at The Meadow @ Gardens By The Bay.

Created by Friendly Dog Entertainment in honour of the celebration of peace, love and music during spring time, the spring Wave Music Festival steps out of Taiwan for the first time and have chosen Singapore to be the first overseas stop.

"We are excited to bring one of the most anticipated outdoor music festivals in Taiwan to Singapore for the very first time. This would not have been possible without the support of our presented, Tiger Beer. The festival will kick-off with the Mandopop segment from 3pm to 10pm. The second segment of the festival will see The Meadow @ Gardens by the Bay transformed into a massive outdoor party venue for an Electronic Dance Music Segment known as Spring Wave Dance. From 11pm to 4am, widely-travelled and legendary German DJs ATB and Markus Schulz as well as established trance musician Jochen Miller from Holland will hit the decks to fuel the party with electronic bliss.

For the Singapore stop, we will have Indie queen Cheer Chen (陈绮贞) , rocker Wu Bai (伍佰), popster Jam Hsiao (萧敬腾), smoky-voiced Joanna Wang (王若琳), pop-rocker Zhang Zhen Yue/A-Yue (张震岳) and homegrown songbird Olivia Ong (王俪婷).

And for the press conference, Zhang Zhen Yue/A-Yue (张震岳) and Joanna Wang (王若琳) made an appearance to share some fun facts and get "bombed" by the media. Watch the videos for the whole interview.

The unique element that differentiates Spring Wave from other outdoor concert is... Every artist gets to perform one full hour with their own band flown in from Taiwan. In another words, you only need to pay for one ticket to get access to 7 hours of LIVE mini concerts! That’s definitely a steal!
